Meanwhile, in Evie's starter castle, she and Mal were having a serious discussion. "Who else knows about the crown and the scepter?" Evie asked, concern evident in her voice as she looked at her best friend.

"No one," Mal replied, standing in front of Evie with a worried expression. "Think about it—people are scared enough as it is. We have to implement new security measures."

Evie's brows furrowed. "Will this delay our plan to bring more VKs over?" she asked, her concern deepening.

Mal crossed her arms, hesitation in her voice. "We're talking about closing the barrier for good."

Evie's eyes widened in shock. "But you said no!" she exclaimed, unable to believe what she was hearing. "The five of us are living the dream here, and we finally get to share that. What could be more important than that?"

Mal looked away, her mind troubled as she sat down. "I know," she admitted, trying to explain. "But maybe security. Or maybe peace of mind for everyone in Auradon."

Evie shook her head in disbelief. "Is that what they're thinking? Mal, are they seriously considering that no one will ever go in or out of the Isle again? What about visiting our parents? And the kids—we promised them they could go back whenever they wanted!" She was rambling, her anger and confusion palpable.

Mal nodded softly, her eyes full of regret. "Yeah, I know."

Evie reached out, hugging Mal tightly. "I'm so glad you're the royal advisor. You'll be part of these conversations, and you'll stand up for the VKs with Elina," she said, pulling back to look into Mal's eyes. "Wait... what did Elina say about all this?"

Mal sighed deeply. "She wasn't there when the idea of closing the barrier came up. She blew up at Adam earlier when he was being judgmental about the Isle people and stormed out. I haven't seen her since."

Evie nodded, understanding. "As she should. I'm so happy she's going to be queen. There's no one more fit for this role, for helping the kids of the Isle," she said with a soft smile, her admiration for Elina clear.

Mal nodded in agreement, feeling a pang of guilt. Elina was strong, standing up for what she believed in, no matter the consequences. Mal knew that Elina would make an incredible queen, far better than she ever could. Where Elina had courage and conviction, Mal felt like she only ever found the easy way out—a trait she feared she had inherited from her own mother.

Evie squeezed Mal's hand. "Thank you for telling me," she said warmly.

Elina sat on the floor of the small cottage, pouting in frustration. She had tried everything to escape, but nothing had worked. With a sigh, she leaned her head back, her thoughts racing back to the events of the day. She could only hope that Ben, Maddox, and Mal had found a solution and realized that Audrey was behind everything. Just as she was lost in thought, a swirl of purple smoke filled the room, and Audrey appeared, holding Maleficent's scepter in one hand and Blanc's wand in the other.

"I'm back, sweetie," Audrey cooed, kneeling down beside Elina with a smug smile.

Elina looked up at Audrey, forcing an uncertain smile. "Hey, Audrey," she greeted, her voice wavering slightly as Audrey caressed her cheek.

"I have a gift for you," Audrey said, her voice laced with pride as she handed Elina the wand. "Now you're going to stay by my side, right?" Audrey asked, her eyes gleaming with anticipation as she watched Elina's reaction.

Elina's eyes widened as she held her mother's wand, the weight of it filling her with a rush of memories. She looked up at Audrey, hesitation clear in her expression. But Audrey, too caught up in her own plans, didn't notice. She stood up, turning her attention to an orb she had conjured, which showed her where everyone was.
