Meanwhile, in his office, Ben paced nervously while holding a phone to his ear. His voice was filled with urgency as he gave instructions. "No, no, I want the Auradon Guard distributing gas masks immediately. Not everyone's asleep yet!" He cut off the call abruptly, his mind racing with worry.
Turning to an assistant who stood nearby, Ben continued, his tone firm, "Find out if anyone has seen Audrey. And see if she's issued any demands."
Before the assistant could respond, a familiar yet chilling voice spoke up from behind him. "Just one," Audrey said, her voice dripping with malice.
Ben turned around, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of her. Audrey stood there, a twisted smile playing on her lips, radiating a dark energy. He quickly rose from his seat, his face a mixture of shock and concern.
"I demand my life back," Audrey continued, her eyes gleaming with a dangerous intensity. "I have a proposition for you, Benny Boo." She stepped closer, her voice soft yet menacing. "I'll wake everyone up right now—under one itty-bitty condition. Make me queen, and let me rule with Elina."
Ben's expression turned to one of utter disbelief. "Did someone put a spell on you? Just tell me who, and I'll—"
"You'll what? Marry them?" Audrey interrupted, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. Her eyes sparkled with twisted amusement as she mocked him. "Most people get dumped because they're not good enough. I wasn't bad enough."
Her laughter echoed through the room, a sound filled with madness. She twirled around, her movements erratic, before stopping to face Ben again. "How do you like me now, Benny Boo?"
Ben swallowed hard, trying to keep his composure. "I like the old Audrey better. She wouldn't want to hurt Auradon. Just... give me the scepter, and I'll forgive you."
Audrey scoffed at his words, her expression turning cold. "You'll forgive me? I don't think so." She paused, her eyes narrowing as a sly grin spread across her face. "At least Elina likes me."
Ben's heart sank at her words, a sense of dread creeping over him. "What do you mean, Elina?" he asked, his voice trembling with worry.
Audrey's smirk grew wider as she reveled in his confusion. "She's mine now, Benny Boo," she taunted, her voice filled with cruel satisfaction. "You should have looked after her better."
Ben's face paled, his mind reeling from the revelation. "Sleeping is too good for you!" Audrey suddenly screamed, her voice laced with fury as she raised the scepter. With a wave of her hand, she cast a powerful spell, and Ben instantly fell into a deep, unnatural slumber.
Audrey watched as he collapsed, her eyes gleaming with triumph. "Sleeping is too good for Auradon," she muttered darkly, turning her attention to the kingdom beyond the windows.
With another flick of her wrist, Audrey unleashed her magic upon the entire realm. Those who were still awake were instantly turned to stone, their bodies frozen in place, expressions of shock and fear etched on their faces. The once vibrant and lively kingdom of Auradon fell silent, now a land of stone statues and eternal sleep.
Audrey stood in the center of the chaos she had created, her heart cold and unyielding. She had taken everything from Ben, from Auradon—and now, she had Elina as well. A dark queen reigning over a kingdom in ruins.
Audrey transported herself to the Fairy Cottage, her heart racing with excitement at the thought of seeing Elina again. A bright smile spread across her face as she arrived, eager to reunite with the one person she believed she could trust. However, as she stepped inside the quaint cottage, her smile began to fade. The place was eerily quiet, devoid of any sign of life.
