"Yeah!" Elina cheered along with the others, her voice ringing out as they stood victorious.
"We did that!" Uma exclaimed, her face lit up with excitement as she raised her hand to high-five Mal. "That's what I'm talk—" Uma started, but quickly pulled her hand back, the tension between them palpable. Jay playfully bodychecked Gil, causing both him and Harry to laugh, but they quickly straightened up, realizing the seriousness of the moment.
Elina, calming down a bit, offered a soft smile to the girls. "Ugh! Hey, good job!" she said warmly, stepping over to stand beside Evie. Meanwhile, Mal joined Carlos and Jay in their celebration, while Uma, Harry, and Gil reveled in their own victory.
"Guys, come on. This was so great!" Evie called out, trying to gather everyone's attention. "We were a team. We worked together. Come on," she urged, looking to Mal, who shook her head, still too caught up in the moment.
"Come on," Evie repeated, turning to Uma, who simply pushed her hand away with a dismissive "Mm-mm."
"You know what we should try? An icebreaker," Evie suggested enthusiastically, her tone light and cheerful. Carlos sighed at her antics, while Elina rolled her eyes and wandered over to inspect the fallen knights, casually kicking at their helmets as she did.
"You say something you really like about the other person. Okay? I'll start." Evie looked around before stopping at Harry, offering him a smile. "Harry. Great accent. Now, you go," she said, her voice full of encouragement. Harry, uncomfortable, looked away, not sure how to respond.
"Is she always this perky?" Uma asked Mal with a hint of exasperation.
"It wasn't really your turn, but thank you," Evie replied to Uma with a smile before Mal stepped forward, pulling Evie aside.
"Okay, Evie? Come here. Yeah," Mal said, her tone more serious. "I love you."
"I love you," Evie echoed back, the bond between them clear.
"I love this energy, but we are very short on time. Audrey clearly knows that we're here, we need to get out of here ASAP," Mal reminded everyone, her voice firm.
"Alright, where does this cheerleader bunk down? Even if she's not there, we might find some sort of clue," Uma said impatiently, eager to move forward.
"Actually, she's still in the dorms," Evie said, placing her hands on her hips confidently.
"You're right, because of summer school," Mal agreed, nodding toward Evie.
"What? Summer school?" Harry asked, laughing. "Summer? School? No wonder she wants revenge," he joked, still chuckling as he looked over at Elina. "And you go to school voluntarily?" he asked her, his laughter fading as he noticed Elina's sudden focus on the knights.
Elina knelt down slowly, her eyes fixed on something purple shining under one of the knight's helmets. "Elina?" Mal called out, concerned as she walked over, Uma and Harry following closely behind.
"What's wrong?" Uma asked softly, standing just behind Elina.
Elina carefully removed the helmet from the knight and gasped in shock. Lying there, motionless, was Maddox. "Oh my god," Evie whispered, covering her mouth in disbelief.
Elina hiccuped, her hand trembling as she caressed Maddox's cheek, tears streaming down her face. "Maddox..." she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
"True love's kiss breaks every spell," Evie muttered softly, her voice full of hope.
Elina looked up, her eyes wet with tears, and nodded. "You're right," she said, determination in her voice.
