Out of nowhere, a loud sound echoed through the room, and green smoke began to glide downwards from a window. The smoke coalesced in front of the VKs and Ben, vaporizing into the form of Maleficent. "I'm back!" she exclaimed, grinning wickedly as she eyed the room, her gaze landing on the frozen Fairy Godmother.
Elina instinctively clung to Ben as everyone stared at Maleficent in shock. "Go away, Mother," Mal said, unamused, glaring at her mother.
"She's funny," Maleficent laughed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh! I'm so... you're very funny. Here. Wand me. Chop chop." She stretched out her hand towards Mal, her tone turning demanding. But Mal had other plans—she threw the wand towards Fairy Godmother instead.
"Bibbidi-bobbidi..." Fairy Godmother began, but Maleficent cut her off, annoyed.
"Boo," Maleficent sneered, casting her own spell with the Fairy Godmother's wand. Everyone, except the VKs, froze in place. Elina looked at Ben, whom she was still holding onto, and then at Maleficent, wide-eyed. "Aunty!" she exclaimed in disbelief.
"Ugh, sike," Maleficent rolled her eyes, dismissing Elina. She strutted over to the frozen King Adam, taking off his glasses and inspecting him flirtatiously. "Ooh. Ooh, in another time, in another time," she mused, making Elina cringe.
"Evil like me, don't you wanna be mean..." Maleficent sang softly as she walked over to the Fairy Godmother, plucking the wand from her frozen hand. "Ow! Oh. Oh, no. Someone needs to pluck their nose hairs." Maleficent turned around, a wicked smile on her face. "Where shall we begin? I know. Why don't we start by getting rid of this?" She glanced at Elina with disappointment before summoning the ring Ben had given her. It floated to the wand, sliding onto it perfectly. "Perfect fit! Oh, excuse me. Pardon me. Excuse me. The horns, the horns! Aw..."
Elina looked down at her now empty finger, heartbroken, before Maleficent appeared directly in front of her. Elina squeaked in surprise, stepping back.
"Falling in love is weak... And ridiculous. It's not what you want," Maleficent said sternly, her voice filled with cold authority.
Elina squared her shoulders, anger flashing in her eyes. "You are not my mother!"
"But you are as good as my daughter," Maleficent retorted, her tone unyielding.
"My mommy is proud of me no matter what. So you telling me that you know better than me or my mommy what I want is ridiculous, not falling in love," Elina shot back, crossing her arms defiantly.
Maleficent rolled her eyes and turned to Mal. "And this friendship you talked about earlier—ew." She shuddered, dismissing the idea as if it were beneath her.
"You don't know what I want! Mom, have you ever once asked me what I want? I'm not you!" Mal's voice trembled with emotion.
"Oh, obviously. I've had years and years and years and... years of practice being evil. You'll get there," Maleficent replied, a smirk playing on her lips.
"No, I will not. And I really wish that you had never gotten there yourself. Love is not weak or ridiculous. It's actually really amazing," Mal said, her voice steady and resolute.
"I know one thing, young lady," Maleficent pointed at Mal and Elina, her voice dripping with disdain. "You both have no room for love in your life!"
Elina stepped forward, standing beside Mal. "And who are you to tell us that?"
Maleficent huffed, her patience thinning. "Your family."
"Family doesn't act that way," Elina replied firmly, taking Mal's hand in hers.
"And now I command, wand to my hand!" Mal said with confidence, holding out her hand. The Fairy Godmother's wand flew into her grasp. "Ha! It worked!" The VKs let out a collective sigh of relief.
