Enigma

Trials

It was break time. Karan had already gone to the basketball court for his trials.
Almost the entire college was there to see the trials.
Sam came running to Teju and said,
"Let's go...!"
"Where?"
"For the basketball trials"
"What am I going to do there?"
"Babe ...this is going to be our team for the next one year. We have to cheer for the best ones. We have to go...comeon "
"Okayy...!"

At the court, everybody was giving their best to get selected. Dane scored 5 goals against the seniors. And now it was Karan's turn. He started off and within a span of few seconds Boomm...he scored his first goal. He was like a painting gliding on a canvas. And one after another he scored, 8 goals against the seniors.

The crowd cheered for him madly. Everybody knew, he is definitely into the team for sure. And so it happened. The team was decides. Four freshers were selected into the team, Dane, Karan, Samar and Aditya.

Among all the cheering and hooting, there was one person who was just looking at him and amazed to see his talent. She was silent from the outside but internally she prayed to all the Gods that he should win.

After everything, Sam decided to move to the cricket ground as it was time for Amy's trials in cricket. Even Karan was there to cheer for his friend Amrit.

Sam was cheering fir her brother and he played really well. He scored 5 sixes and 8 fours and his total runs 80 runs in 6 overs. Amrit also played well and scored  75 runs in 6 overs. Three freshers were selected.
The next day it was trials for the dance and music team. Teju was excited for it as she wanted to be a part of the team.
Sam was very happy for her brother's qualification and also excited for Teju's trial.
On the other hand, Avika was also a damcer. Even she wanted to be a part of the dance team. She said to Karan,
"Baby, congratulations for your selection."
"Thanks baby"
"You know tomorrow I have my trials.  Will you be there to support me?"
" Me .....umm....yeah..ok sure"
"Yayy...I knew it you'll be there for me...okay...i am going home...I have to practice for tomorrow. I love you baby"
"Yeah sure...go practice...bye..."

Dane- " You didn't reply"
Karan- "What...I did reply to her..!"
Dane -"she said she loves you"
Karan- "yeah...umm "
Dane- " it's ok, bro, you don't have to explain, I just hope that you understand it's better to let her go and tell her the truth...and not be scared of how she'll react. The sooner the better. Come I'll drop you home."

Karan knew he is just piling up from inside. He knew he is not honest with Avika but he was scared to hurt her. Their parents were like best of friends and Karan's father loved Avika like a daughter. He knew he wouldn't be able to face his wrath if he hurt her by any chance.

The day ended well for some of the freshers. Teju was happy for surviving the first day in college, a new environment...and new faces. She missed her hometown but she was also happy to be here and lead a new life.
Karan was very happy that he got into the basketball team which was his passion.
