Enigma

Confession

Teju was happy to know that Karan is still making efforts to show that he cares for her. She was so relieved that Karan is reacting to her actions that means he wants her equally in his life but is just scared of something. She would obviously go for his bday party, how could she miss a chance to celebrate the day he was born. But she had a different plan for him. Now she is going to make him confess on the day of his b'day itself.
With this resolution, she went home.

The next two days, Teju did all that she could do to make him jealous. Karan was too piling up from inside. He would blast any minute. It was getting very heavy for him as well. He was neither excited for his party nor attentive to what's happening around him. He just knew one thing that he is getting jealous of seeing Teju close to another guy.

Now, it was Karan's bday. In the evening,  all of Karan's friends gathered at her house. Dane , Avika, Sam, Amy, and many more were there. Karan came down and greeted them all. Everybody showered him with wishes. Avika came and literally hugged him and kissed his cheeks. Karan was evidently uncomfortable at this. Moreover, his eyes were searching for for Teju, he was thinking if she would come or not. Suddenly, he felt a force on his hand and upon realizing he saw Avika pulling him for a dance. He did try to break free but she didn't let him go and whispered
"Don't create a scene Karan,our parents don't know that we are not together. So please...just co-operate"
Karan couldn't say anything about this. 
He danced with her a little and excused himself. He was just not feeling happy with all of this as Teju was still not there.
Karan's mom came and called him for cake cutting
"Beta sunny...chal cake cutting ka tym hogya hai...tu yaha ku betha hai"
"Maa abi cake cutting abi to vo ayi bhi ni hai "
"Vo ....vo kon? Sab to yaha...Avika bhi yahi hai..."
"Maa, Avika and I are not together anymore. "
"What...par beta pichli baar jo hua tha..."
"Avika ne khud mujhe majbur kiya h maa...(He explains everything to her and also tells her about Teju) "
"To mere bete ko pyar ho gaya hai...saccha vala...koi ni tu intezar karle...mai sambhal lungi ye sb. Ar agar vo bhi tujhse pyar karti hai to vo zarur aegi "
Karan just blushed listening to her. Karan's mom went inside. Karan looked up and saw a fairy coming towards him. Yes it was Teju looking like a dream. She walked towards him in a beautiful red dress. But his reverie broke when he also saw Agastya by her side. They entered holding hands. This broke Karan's heart. Teju walked up to him and wished him a happy bday. She handed him a gift and said
"This is from our side. And I am sorry I brought a plus one with me.... I hope you won't mind. Actually he never leaves my side....Which is so cute...right?"
"It's ok...Teju...I am just happy that you are here. Let's go..."
Teju thought he would react otherwise but he didn't. He was genuinely happy that she was here and that's what mattered to him.
Karan stood near the cake table,made a wish , looked at Teju and then blew the candles. He cut the cake and everybody sang the b'day song. He cuts a piece and feeds it to his mom and dad and then he takes it towards the other side. Avika thought he would feed her the next bite but he passed by her and reached near Teju and fed her the next bite(priority bitches). Everybody was shocked at this. But Dane pulled everybody's attention towards him by announcing a couple dance. Every person in the room had to choose a partner for this dance. Karan's mom and dad took all the oldies out in the garden and left them in the hall for their enjoyment. Karan's mom whispered in his ear "Don't fear the consequences...if you really love each other fight for it. "

Now the hall had only youngsters. Everybody chose their partners. Sam and Dane, Amy and kiki , Teju and Agastya, Avika and Karan and many more. They formed their pairs and started dancing on a romantic song. Karan's eyes were on his girl. His whole attention was on Teju and didnt pay any attention to Avika. She was getting furious at this but it didn't matter to him.  They were dancing and suddenly Karan saw Agastya holding her waist tightly and pulling her close. Karan fisted his hand and was just controlling his anger. But what happened next, he couldn't control himself. He saw him coming closer to Teju as he was trying to kiss her. Karan jerked Avika's hand and went and pulled Teju towards him and said,
"Are you mad.. can't you see?"
"What the hell....what is this Karan?"
"He was trying to kiss you"
"So what....I know he was going to kiss me....so why are you bothered...he is my boyfriend he has the right to touch me, hold me or kiss me why does that affect you .....why do you have to come in between always...."
"Just shut up ok....i can't tolerate this. Everything else was still ok....but not this..."
"But why....why can't you tolerate.....
"Because I love you Tejasswi. I fucking love you...and you are breaking my heart bit by bit.... Mujhe takleef ho rahi hai in chizo se. 🙏"
Tejasswi was stunned at this confession. Everybody stopped and looked at them. Sam, amy, and Dane were happy for them. Avika on the other hand was getting furious at this whole scene.
"You finally said it"
"What"  karan said confusingly.
"He is not my boyfriend. I don't even know him. All of this was just to make you jealous. I know you came to see me the prom night. I heard everything. I just wanted you to accept your feelings loud and clear in front of everyone. I don't know what scared you to push me away...but just remember....the more you push me away the more I'll come back to you. I am sorry Karan ..I had to do this...i had to let you feel these emotions because I wanted you to accept your feelings. Still I hurt you a lot and I am ok if you resent me now. I would just say be happy in your life. Bye " (she turned to go away but karan held her hand midway)
"I won't let you go for the second time." (Saying this he pulled her and she landed on his chest and he hugged her passionately.... teju hugged him back)

Everybody cheered for them and were very happy...Dane congratulated him and hugged him. He was now genuinely happy. But one person was not happy for sure. It was Avika. She saw a knife there with which Karan cut the cake. She held it in her hand and went closer to Teju. Teju was talking to Sam and Amy and thanked Agastya for his help. Karan was standing at a distance talking with Dane.  His eyes went on Teju and then on Avika. He spotted the knife in her hand and the anger in her eyes. He knew she was going to hurt Teju so he ran towards her and the moment Avika was about to stab her...he pulled her towards him causing her right arm to cut a little ....she screamed a little....
"Ahhhh ...."
"Tejuu....are you okay...? (Karan said worried)
He saw her hand bleeding, he immediately kept his hanky and tied it around her arm so that it doesn't cause more bleeding. Dane ran and brought the first aid. And Sam snatched the knife from her hand and pushed her away. Karan medicated her hand kissed her forehead. All the oldies came in hearing the noises. They were confused on what just happened. Karan stood up and went to his father and said,
"Dad, I know she is your friend's daughter, but that doesn't mean I have to be friends with her too. I just can't be friends with someone who doesn't have the basic decency to behave. Today she tried to harm Teju. Her wound is not so deep but if something happened to her, I would have killed this girl I swear. And one more thing, I am not going to be in any kind of relationship with this crazy woman. She needs a psychiatrist not a boyfriend. "

Avika held his hand and said crying,
Karam you can't break up with me like this for this girl.... I'll kill myself...and this time I will do it precisely. "

Karan didn't say anything just took the knife from Sam, gave it to Avika and said,
"Go ahead, kill your self."

"Karan what are you doing...."(Everybody said)

"I am doing the right thing. She will not even scratch herself let alone kill. Avika stop this drama now...we are not kids anymore. You knew it from the very beginning that I didn't love you. Still you decided to frame ne for your suicide attempt....and then again you tried to black mail me by asking to trap Teju in my love and later deceive her breaking her heart because that would have given you a sense of satisfaction. Why? Because you lost a dance trial that's it. You said you would harm her and that is what you were trying to do today. But now let me make this very clear. I don't have any fear now. Teju is with me ..and I don't care about you...I am standing like a rock in front of you. If you try to harm her one more time .... I'll show you hell ....living hell. Be very careful this time. " (His voice had gruesome rage and avika shivered at his voice)
Karan's dad told everyone that the party is over. Everybody left. Now only Karan's friends were there. Teju asked Karan to come over to her place. She went up to his mom and dad,
" Hello uncle Aunty...I know it was a lot of drama... But I wanted to take permission for something. "
"What?"
"Can I take Karan to my place along with all of our friends? I promise, I will keep him safe and protect him. Actually it's his bday and he didn't even get to celebrate it properly so please...."
"Beta it's already too late...I don't think...( Karan's mom said)
"Ok...you can take him. Be careful. All of you " (karan's dad said)
"Thank you uncle. Bye"

Teju spoke to them and they allower her to take karan to her place. She messaged Karan to be downstairs in a minute. Meanwhile, she called her nanu explaining everything that her friends are coming over. She asked her friends to reach her place and do all the decorations and arrange a cake for his bday celebration. They left early in Dane's car. After a while, Karan came down and saw that everyone's gone but Teju was waiting there. He went to her and she asked him to drop her home. To which he instantly agreed. He held her hand and they went out.
Karan's mom and dad looked at them and Karan's mom said,
"They look like us when we were younger"
"Really?"
"Yes...so much love and dedication, it's visible in their eyes. Especially the girl, she loves our son so much. Even after being badly injured the only thing she thinks of is his b'day shouldn't be spoiled. I mean who does this anymore ?"
"Yeah that's true...but still I have to examine this girl critically and then only... I'll approve her." (Karan's mom glared at him) " Ok...I like her a bit ...but not much yet"
And they started laughing.
