After about a week since Mai told you that people were saying shit behind your back, you've noticed dirty looks from people. You've even heard people say some awful things about you. This caused you to disappear during breaks, hiding in the bathroom to cry for a few minutes before fixing yourself up as if nothing happened.
Shiro noticed something was wrong the day you had your practice match. "Y/n, what's wrong?"
You force a smile onto your face, looking over at him during break. "It's nothin'. Don't worry bout it."
He sighs, looking down and lowering his voice so that no one else can hear. "It's what everyone keeps saying about you. This bullying is actually hurting you. I'm guessing that means your self esteem is low, and you might not be in the best place for this match." He gently places his hand on one of yours. "I'm here for you. After your match, we can go to my house and study for a bit. Maybe we can watch a movie tonight."
"Ah, not tonight. How about tomorrow night, since we won't have school on Sunday."
He smiles. "Sure thing. I'll ask my mom about movie suggestions."
Mai walks up to you 2 in the hallway. "Y/n, are you ready for the match today?"
You nod. "Are Samu and Aran comin'?"
She nods. "Yeah. Unfortunately, the injured jerk is coming along. Samu told me today. And it sounds like some other girls that have a thing for Atsumu will be coming to watch."
You roll your eyes, speaking sarcastically. "Great. Just what I wanted."
"Some of those girls are the ones saying shit about you. Quite a few are from your class, if I remember correctly."
You sigh. "Of course they are. I can already imagine how this match is gonna go for me."
Mai pats your back. "There, there. You have me, Shiro, Samu, and Aran."

"Boo!"
"Boo, L/n!"
"You don't deserve to be on the court!"
You groan. "I knew somethin' was gonna happen."
Mai grimaces. "Yeah, I saw this coming. Hopefully they'll understand that we win because of you."
"Doubt it."
Kiku walks over. "Wow, Y/n. All the girls here hate you."
Shiro cups his hands around his mouth. "Go, Y/n! You're the best!"
You smile at him, mouthing a quick thank you. You turn to Mai. "At least I have some good friends."
Mai blinks, thinking how you might end up in a good relationship with the soccer playing boy. "Yeah. Maybe you should consider Shiro more seriously."
"What?"
"Oh, nothing." She walks off, getting into a line with the other members of your team.
You follow her, still confused as to what she meant. 'Do I not treat Shiro seriously?' You get in line, then face the opposing team. As a team, you bow at the same time as your opponents.
On the second floor, Osamu was watching with the other guys. "Sumu, yer fan girls are makin' problems."
"I can't do shit bout that."
Aran sighed. "I feel bad for Y/n. She's done nothing to deserve hate."
Shiro nods. "She's gonna win this match. I believe in her."
Osamu smiles. "Y/n's the top ace our age. She's winnin' no matter what."
They continue to watch as you all get into positions on the court. You and Mai are in the front row, Kiku being in the back row. Your team was receiving first, the other team having chosen to serve right from the start.
