Atsumu isn't the best person in the world. He can't express emotions well, and tends to act ruder than he wants to. But there is one thing that Atsumu knows very well about himself. He's a jealous person. He knew it from the moment any guy other that Aran and Osamu was around you. Especially Shiro. Atsumu hates Shiro. And this blond twin is sure to make mistakes when it comes to his jealousy. He's already shown you that he can be nice, but there was never any guarantee that would last.
Atsumu saw you in the hallway once class ended, but stopped when a certain white haired boy got to you first. Inside, the setter was boiling with jealousy. He hated this feeling, but didn't know what to do about it.
Shiro smiled as he walked up to you, a hand on the back of his neck. "Hey, Y/n. Are you ready to go study now?"
"Oh, Shiro. Sorry, but I have volleyball practice. I joined the team early, and I can't skip out now."
"Th-that's fine. I guess that means we won't be studying together this week?"
You shake your head. "Not until we get done practices at the same time." You turn your head slightly, seeing Atsumu looking at you. Your eyes widened briefly. "Sumu, hey!" You wave at him, starting to walk towards him.
The blond twin took the hint and made his way over to where you and the other boy are. "Hey. Whaddya want?"
"I'm guessing ya have to wait another week before ya can go to volleyball practices, huh?"
He nods. "I heard ya already get to go to practices."
You nod. "Yeah. I joined the team when I did a quick tour of the school over break. I might see Aran. Would ya like me to say hi for ya?"
Atsumu kept a scowl on his face. "Nah, ya don't needa do that. He'll see me next week." His eyes wander over to the boy trying to stay at your side. "I see yer little boyfriend is still 'round."
You knit your eyebrows together in confusion. "Boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend."
He points at the white haired male. "Him."
Shiro frowns. "I have a name."
"Don't care."
You shake your head. "Shiro's not my boyfriend. But, yeah, he also came to Inarizaki."
Atsumu, who was taller than you, looked down at you with a dark aura starting to surround him. "Are ya in the same class?"
Shiro glared at the taller boy. "No. I'm in class 6, she's in class 7."
Inside, the setter was happy. At least you weren't always around his rival. "Y/n, don't be stupid this year, 'kay?"
"Huh?"
Atsumu's eyes remained fixed on you. "Don't be stupid. And don't go runnin' 'round with a bunch of guys, either. Don't be pathetic like that one girl that won't leave me alone." Without letting you get another word out, he turns his back to you and stalks away.
You just stand there in confusion. "What was that bout?"
Shiro looked at you. "He's still being a jerk to you?"
"No, he was bein' nice at lunch. I dunno what happened since then." You clutch the strap of your bag tightly. "Ah, I gotta get to practice now. See ya, Shiro." You rush off, hurrying to get to your gym. When you arrive, you quickly enter and walk right into the locker room to change into your practice attire.
Mayumi looks over at you as you settle yourself in front of your locker. "Hey, L/n. How are ya doin'?"
You flash a smile her way. "Good, just adjustin' to the school."
"Let me know if ya need any help. Since we're teammates, we've got each other's back. Got it?"
"Yes, captain."
The brunette looks at you for a second, then turns to her own locker. "Do ya know if any other first years are gonna join?"
"Ah, yes, actually. I have three friends: Hoshi Suki, a wing spiker; Renku Mai, another wing spikers, and Shibata Kiku, a libero."
Mayumi hums while getting changed. "That might help us. What are their strengths?"
"Uh, Kiku is pretty fast." You can't think of many good things about your friend.
"Faster than you?"
You shake your head. "No, but she's kinda close. Then Mai can do jump serves, and they're pretty strong. Suki and I have been friends and rivals since we first met, and she is close to matching me with strength and skill."
The captain moves her head, tilting it from side to side. "That sounds useful. I can't promise they'll be put on the court as regulars while they're still first years, but they'll definitely be on the bench in case we need them. However, ya are the big player we need on the court at all times. Remember to take care of herself."
You finished getting changed, closing the door to your locker. "Of course. Should I go and start warmin' up?"
"Yes, please. I'll be right out."
The moment you walk back into the gym, you notice a bunch of familiar figures up on the second floor of the gym. "What are ya doin' 'ere?"
Aran chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. "They found me and asked if I could show them to the gym."
Mai and Suki hold thumbs up at you. "We wanna watch ya play!"
Kiku was practically hanging on the railing. "I came cuz Atsumu-kun came."
Osamu looked away from you, worried about you getting angry. "Uh, surprise?"
Atsumu just stared at ya. "Don't mess up."
"Gee, thanks." You hang your head, already feeling exhausted.
Coach Fukuda came into the gym, immediately looking up. "Hey, you there! Get down from there! This is a closed practice! No one is allowed to watch my team until we have practice matches!" She turns to you. "L/n, do ya know these kids?"
You nod, not looking at your friends. "They're... friends of mine. They all play volleyball as well. In fact, those girls will be joinin' the team next week."
"I see." The coach looks back up. "Get outta here! Go home, if ya don't have a practice to attend! If yer not a player, ya have no reason to be 'ere!"
They all flinch. As quickly as they could, they leave the gym. All of them say a quick goodbye to you before closing the door.
You hold your head in your hands. "I'm so sorry bout 'em."
Coach Fukuda shakes her head. "It's no big deal. Ya didn't tell 'em to come 'ere. It's not her fault." She notices the other members of the team gathering in the gym. "Alright, time to start warmin' up! We got a lot to do today!"
