You walk beside the injured boy, occasionally helping him if he becomes unstable. "Careful. Are ya sure ya still wanna come with us to the cafe on Sunday after we all finish up with our practices?"

Shiro nods, trying to stabilize himself with the crutches. "Of course. I wouldn't want to leave you with Kiku and Atsumu. They might abandon you or something."

"But yer on crutches, and kinda struggling to move 'round with 'em."

"It's fine. I'll be on campus and can meet up with you all."

You sigh. "I'm still surprised that yer allowed to go to practice with that injury."

He shrugs. "I'm not allowed on the field, but I can still watch my teammates. What about you? You never told me how you did yesterday."

"Ya told me not to go to yer house, so I couldn't tell ya."

"Fine, fine. I'm sorry, ok? Don't get all angry about it."

Suki giggles as you 2 sit in your normal lunch seats. "There's my favorite couple. Already bickerin' like an old married couple, are we?"

You roll your eyes. "I've told ya a million times. We're not datin' and it's not gonna happen."

Shiro looks down, his face flushed red. "Do you really have to say that, Suki?"

Atsumu turns his back to you. "Who cares bout the 2 nerds? They're useless. Gettin' hurt, then being unable to actually help out their own team."

Mai snorts. "It's not like Y/n could help it. She lost a lot of blood! It's not her fault that she didn't have enough strength to play for the rest of practice after bleeding out for 45 minutes!"

You scratch the back of your head. "Well, it's kinda my fault for spacin' out during practice. If I had been payin' attention, I wouldn't've gotten hit in the first place."

Atsumu grunts. "See, it's 'er fault. She sucks. She shouldn't even be on the startin' lineup. I bet everyone else on the team is way better than she'll ever be."

You felt like an arrow pierced your heart. The smile that was once on your face had been wiped off. You just stare at your bento, not daring to say a word.

Suki glared at the setter. "That's goin' too far! Y/n is the best player on the team, even our coach thinks so!"

Shiro speaks up from your left side. "I bet Atsumu isn't even on the starting lineup, unlike Y/n."

Suki nods. "Yeah! Yer not on the startin' lineup, are ya?"

Osamu sighs. "None of the first years are starters. Oh, Suna, there ya are."

You look up, seeing a boy with fluffy brown hair parted right down the middle.

Suna sits on Osamu's left side, across from Kiku. "Yeah, sorry I'm late. I slept in class and then couldn't find you for a few minutes."

Mai looks at your confused face. "Oh, this is Suna Rintarou, he's a classmate of me and Samu's. We told him he could sit with us if he wanted. Y/n, you look as if you're about to pass out. Are you ok?"

You shrug. "A lot is happenin' today."

Suna looks over at you, eyes widening. "Hey, you. You're really pretty. Do you have a boyfriend?"

Suki gasps. "No! Yer not gonna ruin my ship! Back off from Y/n."

"Oh, shut yer trap. Shiro and I aren't happenin', Suki. Stop with the shippin'." You turn to Suna. "I - " You glance at Atsumu briefly, seeing he had his back to you while Kiku was talking to him. "I'm single. I have no love life. Why?"

Suna grins lazily. "Maybe you should come to my house sometime. I can cook something for you."

Atsumu tensed, turning a glare to the middle blocker. "Don't just ask a girl ya just met out."

Suna shrugged. "I don't see you asking her out. Why not shoot my shot?"

You chuckle. "Ah, that's sweet. I might take ya up on that offer, but I'm afraid we can only be friends. I'm a little too focused on volleyball and school. I have no intention of gettin' into a relationship."

The middle blockers nods, understanding. "I get that. Can't blame you for that. I can settle for being friends."

Osamu rolled his eyes. "He wasn't serious bout tryna date ya, Y/n. He just wanted to see if he could get under someone's skin. Mission accomplished, Suna."

"I think I got under 2 people's skins. I think I might get murdered today, Osamu."

You tilt your head to one side. "What do ya mean by that, Suna?"

Suna tips his head to one side, matching you. "Both boys one either side of you look unhappy with what I said. One looks jealous, the other looks ready to end me."

You look between the boys on either side of you, not being able to see their faces. "I guess I can take yer word for it."

"By the way, I know who all of you are. Osamu told me all about each of you, and I'm pretty sure Aran-san, Kita-san, and Atsumu have mentioned you specifically, Y/n. It's ok to call you by your first name, right?"

You nod. "I have no problem with that. Wait, Atsumu and Kita-senpai talk bout me?"

Atsumu turns to glare at you. "Yer so annoyin', I had to warn some of the guys bout ya. They know to stay away from ya."

Suna rolls his eyes. "Oh, yeah. We know to stay away alright. But you don't need to worry about those details, Y/n. Let's just be friends and maybe I can share some secrets with you." He smiles, closing his eyes.

Shiro places a hand on your shoulder. "Y/n, I think it would be in your best interest to stay away from volleyball playing guys."

Suna frowns, opening his eyes. "Not all of us are as ruthless as Atsumu. He's the only one on the team with a bad personality. Can't even be honest with himself. Such a shame." He clicks his tongue, shaking his head. "That's a shame. You might wanna change your ways. Y/n's someone I'd be too scared to lose. Making mistakes with her won't end well."

"Oh shut yer trap, Suna!" Atsumu snapped. "I don't know what yer talkin' bout! I hate Y/n and everythin' bout her! She should just drop dead!"

He spoke right when you were trying to eat, causing you to drop your chopsticks. You felt tears welling up in your eyes. You stand abruptly. "Careful what ya wish for, Sumu. Ya might just get it." You turn and walk away quickly, tears starting to fall. Once out of the lunch room, you sprint at full speed to find a place to hide in for the rest of the lunch break.

Osamu sighed, facepalming. "Sumu, yer such an idiot. It's not even funny anymore."

Shiro turned to face the setter. "You're horrible. Stay away from Y/n. The more you're around, the more pain she has to be in. Do you like hurting her?"

Atsumu remains silent, letting everything sink in. "Samu, do ya think what 'er dad said last year is true?"

"Which thing?" The grey haired twin tips his head to one side.

"That's she'll forgive me if I say sorry."

Osamu hummed. "Not a chance. That was goin' too far, Sumu. Ya'll be lucky if she doesn't take yer words to heart."

'Shit. I hope she doesn't hurt herself or die.'
