You space out, thought going back to what happened over the weekend. You couldn't even hear when several girls on the team, including coach Fukuda, were calling your name urgently. Before you could register the voices, something hits your head and sends you to the ground. You lay on the ground, hands on your face, while groaning.

Suki runs over from the other side of the net. "Oh my god! Are ya ok, Y/n?"

You roll onto your side, still holding your face in your hands. "What hit me?"

Mai knelt down beside you. "A volleyball. Everyone was calling out to you, but you didn't respond."

The coach walked over, standing next to you. "L/n, can ya get up?"

You slowly remove your hands from your face, pushing yourself up into a sitting position. The moment you were upright, you felt something warm and went spill from your nose. "Am I bleedin'?"

Suki nodded. "Bloody nose." She quickly runs off, coming back with a damp towel. "Put this on, and pinch the bridge of yer nose."

You do just that, knowing that you had blood on your shirt and bottom half of your face.

The coach just sighs, helping you stand up. "Go to the nurse. Ya need to get checked out."

You nod, slowly walking out of the gym. You sigh to yourself as you walk across campus towards the nurse's office in the main school building.

A hand touches your shoulder, stopping you from moving. "What happened to ya?"

You turn and see none other than the very person that you were thinking about when you got hit. "Oh, Sumu. I, uh - I just got hit in the face with a volleyball. I'm just headin' to the nurse."

Atsumu leans in close, looking at your face. "Yer nose is bleedin'?"

You nod. "It shouldn't be too bad."

"Lemme walk ya."

"I can go myself."

He frowns. "Ya don't wanna be 'round me?"

You look at the ground. "That's not it."

"Then lemme take ya to the nurse."

You shake your head quickly. "I can't go myself. Ya should go back to yer practice. I'll be fine. S-see ya, Sumu?" You rush off, trying to put some distance between you and the boy.

Atsumu stands still, watching you run away. "Did I go too far with 'er?" He shrugs to himself, heading back to the volleyball gym for his club.

You sit on one of the beds, letting the nurse look at your eyes. "Is everythin' alright? Can I go back to practice?"

The nurse hums. "Well, it doesn't look like a concussion. Just wait for your nose to stop bleeding, then you should be fine to go back to normal activities." She walks away, leaving you by yourself.

The door to the room opens up again, this time a certain soccer player comes limping in. His eyes widened when he spots you. "Y/n?"

You look over, just able to spot the boy from over the tissues you had been holding to your nose. "Oh, hey, Shiro."

"Your nose is bleeding? What happened?" He limps over to you.

You chuckle. "I spaced out in practice and got hit in the face. What are ya doin' 'ere?"

"I collided with someone while dribbling the ball, and I fell. My foot kinda hurts, so coach sent me here." He takes a seat next to you. "Why'd you space out?"

"Ah, well, somethin' from the weekend was on my mind. Nothin' major."

Shiro hums. "I see. Are you able to go back to practice when it stops bleeding?"

"Yep."

The nurse comes back over, seeing the new student. "Did you need something?"

Shiro nods. "I hurt my foot while playing soccer on the team. My coach wanted me to come here and have you look at it."

The nurse takes him across the room, having him take of his shoe and sock so she could see what might be wrong with it.

While that's going on, you check to see if your nose is still bleeding. Only to find that there was no change. Blood kept gushing from your nose. You pinch the bridge of your nose harder, hoping that the pressure with cause the bleeding to stop.

The nurse speaks just loud enough for you to hear. "It looks like a sprain. Don't return to club activities for a few weeks. Get some crutches, and keep a brace or bandage wrap on the ankle and foot."

"Yes, ma'am. Thank you." Shiro limps back over to you, sitting next to you once again. This time, he had a bandage wrapped around his ankle and foot. As he was sitting next to you, he managed to get his sock and cleat back on. "How's your nose?"

"Still bleedin'."

"How much blood is coming out?"

"Quite a bit. It's not slowin' down at all. I might not be able to play for the rest of the night, with how this is goin'." You sigh, leaning forward a little. "I heard yer not supposed to play soccer for a few weeks."

Shiro nods. "Yeah, it's a sprain. My mom is probably going to take me to the doctor tonight just to be safe, make sure it's not a break."

You nod your head. "Better safe than sorry."

The door to the nurse'e office opens, this time Atsumu walks into the doorway and freezes the moment he sees you sitting with someone else. "I - I came to check on ya, Y/n. Is yer nose still bleedin'?"

"Yeah. I don't think it's gonna stop soon."

"I see." He nods his head in the other boy's direction. "What's he doin' 'ere?"

Shiro narrows his eyes at the setter. "I got hurt at practice. You don't seem to have a valid reason to be here. Why don't you go back to practice?"

Atsumu clenches his hands into fists at his side. "The boys' and girls' volleyball clubs decided to use the last of our practice time for a joint practice. I was sent to check on Y/n. The girls' team needs to know if they need to fill in for their ace."

You check to your nose one more time, finding that the bleeding had finally stopped after about 45 minutes. "Looks like I'm good to go. I'll see ya, Shiro. Come on, Sumu, let's go." You walk out the door, pulling the setter along with you.

The blond turns to stick his tongue out at the soccer player before closing the door. He walks next to you, no longer needing you to pull him along. "How ya feelin'?"

"Lightheaded, but pretty good. I just feel bad that Shiro got hurt. I might go to his house after practice to check on 'im."

Atsumu frowned, walking faster. "Do what ya want." He disappears from sight quickly.

You just look confused, stopping mid step. "Did I say somethin' wrong?"
