the next few days, Dan-yin gradually regained her appetite, though she remained particular about her food. She thought she could enjoy the meat Shuu had hunted for her, especially since he cooked it so well, but ultimately, she threw up again.... Feeling guilty for wasting his efforts, she regretted not being able to eat what he had prepared.
"It's alright...I can hunt more for you in the future," Shuu said, kissing her cheek gently.
"I'm really sorry... I thought I could eat it," Dan-yin apologized, sympathizing with the hard work he put into catching the meat.
"Ayin, it's a small matter for me."
"Is there anything else you'd like to eat? Fruit? You love fruit, Ayin."
"Mmm, I do like fruit... but I want something sour."
Shuu's face lit up at her request. "I can go find some sour fruit for you!"
Dan-yin chuckled at his enthusiasm. "Thank you." She climbed into his lap and kissed his cheek. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her softly. "So you really don't want anything else? Just sour fruit?"
Dan-yin nodded and leaned against his shoulder.
Skip few weeks later.
Dan-yin is doing well with her pregnancy, thanks to her friends. However, she feels uncomfortable because someone seems to be watching her and her house from a distance.
"It's him," Curtis said, wrapping his tail protectively around Dan-yin's waist.
"Who...?"
'Do I forget someone?'
"Remember Muir? The beastman who saved you?" Winston said as he stepped out of the house, gazing into the distance.
"What is he doing? Is he okay?" Dan-yin asked, curious about Muir's sudden appearance after his weeks away.
Standing outside with Curtis and Winston, she looked in the direction they were watching, but all she saw was the forest and a few houses. What are they watching? she try to look again but there really nothing three!
"Hey... don't stay quiet!" she playfully slapped Winston's biceps, enjoying the contact.
"He wanted to come here," Curtis said, displeased with the eagle. He thought the eagle had given up after stopping the court gifts for Dan-yin.
