The day Arran returned from his long trip after the snow had calmed, he came back with other beastmen and some females he had rescued from another place.
Dan-yin, hearing the news of his return, quickly told her husband she wanted to meet him. She also heard the commotion of the other beastmen heading to the city center.
"Even though the snow has stopped, it's still cold, Ayin," Harvey said, wrapping more clothes around her to keep her warm. She was always sensitive to the cold and would soon be shivering, eager to get home.
"Harvey, that's enough clothing..." Dan-yin protested as she felt too hot, wrapped up like a ball.
"Now, enough," Harvey insisted after piling on layer after layer.
Dan-yin sighed in relief when he finally finished dressing her and they were ready to go.
"Let's goooo!" she exclaimed excitedly, thrilled to be going out after being cooped up at home in the cold.
The family made their way to the city center. Although it was still chilly, the snow had finally stopped.
'This is funnn~' Dan-yin thought as she walked with the others, taking in the snowy scenery.
"Don't run, Ayin," Winston said, noticing her attempts to dash in her bulky clothes. He shook his head and held her hand to keep her from running.
"Whyyyy," she whined, hoping to sneak in a little sprint but realizing it wasn't possible."Because it's slippery, and I don't want you to fall," Winston replied, keeping his grip firm as they walked along. Dan-yin pouted a little but couldn't help admiring the glimmering snowflakes dancing in the air as they made their way through the streets.
As they approached the city center, the commotion grew louder. Excited voices mingled with the laughter of beastmen and the hum of chatter, filling the crisp air with a vibrant energy. The scent of something sweet wafted through, making Dan-yin's stomach grumble.
" let's find Arran first," Harvey said, quickening their pace. The anticipation of seeing the familiar beastman grew as they edged closer to the gathering crowd.
When they finally reached the bustling square, Dan-yin's eyes widened. There, amidst the throngs of cheering beastmen, stood Arran, a towering figure with a warm smile that could melt the chill. He was regaling the group with stories, his voice booming as he gestured animatedly.
"There he is!" Dan-yin squealed, nearly forgetting about her cold fingers as she hopped up and down in excitement.
Her smile vanished when she saw a woman clinging to Arran's arm. The woman looked far too comfortable, making Dan-yin's heart flutter with unsettling feelings.
"No, no, no..."
"Arran..." She felt a pang of jealousy seeing another woman hold him. Dan-yin knew Arran not hers yet, but she was sure he liked her! So why was he letting that woman hold him?!!
Dan-yin gripped Winston's hand, wanting to leave. She had hoped Arran would come to her, but that seemed unlikely now.
"Maybe she's the female he rescued," Shuu suggested as he noticed her discomfort.
"He rescued her... Maybe he wants her for himself," Dan-yin retorted bitterly.
Arran, spotting Dan-yin, pushed the woman away and moved towards her.
"Little one," he said with a smile, but she refused to look at him, hiding her face behind Winston's arms.
Arran frowned.
"Little one?"
"Hmph."
"Good luck." Muir murmured from behind.
What?
Dan-yin pouted and signaled Winston that she wanted to go home now!
Suddenly...
"Arran!" The woman he rescued lunged to hug him again, making Dan-yin's eyes widen.
"You!"
Arran quickly sensed Dan-yin's feelings and stopped the woman from touching him. He had chosen Dan-yin, and she was the only one in his eyes.
"Little one... I don't want her," Arran said, trying to approach Dan-yin, who remained hidden behind Winston, who sigh at the situation.Dan-yin's heart raced, torn between fury and sadness. She felt childish hiding behind Winston.
Arran shoot a glare when he see the female is still here. making his situation difficult.
"Listen-"
Dan-yin pulls Winston's arms, prompting Arran to quickly chase after them.
