A few days after settling in the village, Dan-yin took time to rest and recover from her journey. The longer she was away from her husbands, the more unsettled she felt; she often cried, longing for Harvey's presence. Each day, she wished for just a glimpse of him.

As she was about to eat breakfast, she heard a commotion outside and looked at Muir.

"Is something happening out there?" she asked, confused by the loud noise.

Muir stood up and opened the door to see a crowd gathering at the entrance. He overheard other beastmen mentioning "a feral" and "snake." Initially thinking it was just a feral approaching the village, he was startled when he heard Harvey's voice yelling.

"Our female is in this village! We can feel her presence here!" Harvey shouted at the older beastmen as he noticed Curtis preparing to attack.

"Your female? Describe her appearance," Eden, the doctor, asked skeptically. He couldn't believe a female would accept a feral and a stripless beastman and suspected they were lying.

"She's small, has brown hair, and  with an eagle beastman. She's pregnant with my cubs," Harvey replied, his impatience growing. Normally calm, he was struggling to remain patient after being separated from his mate for so long.

Eden recalled one female who had arrived a few days ago with the eagle beastman. He had planned to persuade her to stay longer until the leader returned, but that plan seemed impossible now that she was mated to a feral.

Just as Eden was about to speak, a female voice interrupted him.

"Harvey! Curtis!" Dan-yin shouted as Muir carried her, and he ran as fast as he could when she hit his shoulder.

Harvey rushed over, took Dan-yin from Muir's arms, and held her tightly, nuzzling into her neck to take in her scent. "You smell so nice, ayin. You don't mind if I keep you close like this, do you?" he asked, although he knew he had to let her go for Curtis's sake. Both of them were frantic in their search for her.

"Mmm, just keep holding me," she replied softly, almost a whisper.

Curtis slid towards her, scooping her up into his arms. His eyes scanned the beastmen who had tried to stop him earlier; if it weren't for Dan-yin, he would have fought them all. He held her tighter against his body.

"We'll leave now," he said as he moved away from the village.

He can hear the loud yelling from the villager who tried to stopped him from leaving with the female but he just ignore them. They're not important and he can feel something is wrong with them. he trust his instinct more than those beastman.

"He looks mad," Muir whispered to Harvey.

Harvey sighed and replied, "You know him. We all miss her, but he seems on edge as winter approaches."
