Just as I started to relax absentmindedly, a knock on the door interrupted it. The door creaked open, and my mom's voice called out from the doorway.
"Lucas, honey, could you help me with dinner? Your father will be home soon, and I could use an extra pair of hands."

I sighed deeply, propping myself on my elbow to look at her. "Why can't Liam help you?" I questioned.
"He's still not home yet, I tried calling but it's going straight to his voicemail," she explained, a gentle but worried look on her face.
"Come on, it won't take long."

With a groan, I pried myself off the bed, and followed her down to the kitchen. Not long after the aroma of a home-cooked meal was starting to fill the air, and my stomach grumbled in response.
As I helped chop vegetables and set the table, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over our kitchen.

"So, how was everyone's first day?"
dad asked as we all gathered around the dinner table sometime later after my brother had finally come home.

"It was alright."
Liam shrugged,

My dad turned to me, and I echoed, "It was good dad." Mom joined in her attention directed to dad, "How was your first day at work, sweetie?"
With that, dad had launched into an elaborate tale about a challenging patient he encountered.

Dinner conversation flowed as we shared stories from our respective days. The evening continued until the plates were empty, and my dad declared,
"Liam, you wash up."
"Why do I have to do it?"
Liam protested.
"Because I said so," Dad replied, and I cast Liam a sly grin. Liam scoffed, flipping me off as I headed to my room to get ready for a shower.

Just as I was about to tread to the bathroom, a light flickered from the window to the right side of my bedroom, catching my attention.
My eyes widened as I gazed out the window, it was staring right into one of the bedrooms in the neighbor's house, and what I saw next made my heart skip a beat. Tyler had just walked in with a towel wrapped around his waist, and I could see the droplets of water sparkle with the reflection of light as they ran down his chiseled torso and disappeared into the hem of his towel.

My cheeks flushed as I watched, entranced, and I couldn't look away.

Just then, Tyler dropped his towel and began to walk around the room, completely naked. I felt my heartbeat quicken, and a tent began to pitch itself in my jeans. I forced myself to look away, feeling embarrassed and aroused at the same time. I knew I should've probably stopped looking, but I couldn't help it-Tyler was just too HOT.
I watched, unable to look away when suddenly Tyler walked towards the window seemingly unaware of my gaze as he drew the curtains closed. The heat I felt in that moment was intense, and I forced myself away from the window before heading to my bathroom.

Stripping myself, I stepped into the shower, my excitement exposed between my legs in the form of my stiffness. I breathed sharply, turning on the water. I sighed as the warm water bathed my skin.

Under the soothing cascade of water, I felt calm as the warmth enveloped me, and I attempted to wash away the images of Tyler that lingered in my mind. The rhythmic sound of the shower became a steady hum, drowning out my racing thoughts.

As steam enveloped the bathroom, I tried to focus solely on the feeling of the water against my skin, the comfort it provided. Yet, try as I might, the vivid images of Tyler's bare form seemed to persist, each droplet of water conjuring memories of his chiseled torso.

Shaking my head to dispel the thoughts, I reached for the shampoo, hoping to redirect my attention. The scent of the shower gel filled the air, a feeble attempt to overpower the lingering traces of Tyler's presence.

With each passing moment, I scrubbed away the remnants of the day, physically and mentally cleansing myself. The water became a sanctuary, a brief respite from the turmoil of conflicting emotions.

Turning off the water, I stepped out of the shower, a mixture of relief and frustration coursing through me. Toweling off, I changed into something more comfortable, the fabric a feeble barrier against the images that clung to my consciousness.
Tossing and turning in bed, I tried to find a comfortable position, the thought of Tyler still haunting my mind. The moonlight filtered through the window, casting a gentle glow on the room as I wrestled with my feelings.
Eventually, exhaustion took its toll, and I succumbed to the pull of sleep. Dreams and reality intermingled as I drifted into a restless slumber.

The next day the thought of Tyler preceded even further into my mind. It was clear that I was on the verge of having a crush on a guy I had only just met, and I blamed it wholeheartedly for what happened next—the first of many bad decisions I would undoubtedly make.

Right after the first period ended, I sprinted to the coach's office. Bursting through the door, his expression faded to shock as I had seemingly caught him off guard.
"Carter, what is it!?"
he exclaimed.

I struggled to catch my breath but without missing a beat, I panted out the words, "I WANNA JOIN THE TEAM
