(Lucas)

I couldn't focus on anything else; the taste of Tyler's lips haunted me that night when I got home and trailed behind me to school the next day.

Focusing in any class felt like a test of strength, trying to pull my mind back to reality as it continuously strayed back to him-back to his arms, back to his lips. His taste danced in my head, sending euphoric waves throughout my body, and it was pitching a strong tent in my pants.
He kissed me, my mind kept repeating to me.

"Are you with us, Mr. Carter?"
My history teacher's voice broke through, making me aware of my zoned-out state. "Yeah, sorry, Ms. Goldberg," I replied hastily, tying to refocus on the lesson, though my brain remained reluctant to pay attention.

Jazz squealed, her excitement practically bubbling over, I couldn't help but smile, though I quickly put a finger to my lips. "Keep it down," I whispered, glancing around to make sure no one overheard us.
"Sorry," she whispered back, her voice still high with excitement. "This is just really exciting!"

I shook my head, trying to stay grounded. "Yeah, well, it happened, but-"

"But what?" Jazz cut in, her eyes widening. "Wait, what about Alec?"

I sighed. "What about him? He hasn't spoken to me since the home game, remember?"

"Yeah, but he got you chocolates! That has to mean something."

"He was just being nice after what happened," I said, trying to brush it off. "It's pretty hard not to talk to someone after they faint in your arms."

But even as I said it, I couldn't shake the thought. Did it mean something?

 Did it mean something?

"So how'd the game go?" Ethan asked at the table.
"We won," I beamed. "That's great, congrats man," Stephen chimed in, and I cast him a grateful smile.
"Why haven't they announced it yet?"
Jazz asked. "I'm sure they will soon; we all know how Coach Henry loves to brag. He can't resist this," Stephen chimed in.
