Two Days Later

[]

Violet eased around the corner, hiding behind Mr. Lyons office door. He didn't notice her at first, but he did once he heard her reluctantly sneeze. He tilted his head up for a moment from his quick typing on his laptop. "Oh, hello Violet. Come in." He said. She eased into the room, then asking quietly if she could talk to him.

"Sure, of course. Is everything okay?" He asked her. She put her hair behind her ear, then sitting down in the chair across from the desk. It took her a moment to speak, and she kept staring at his hands as he typed. She squinted her eyes tightly. "Can you...please stop typing?" She asked.

His hands stopped instantly, and he seemed confused by this automatic request. "Oh...sure. Okay..." He said. "Do you...remember what you said?" She asked vaguely. He adjusted his tie. "Well, Violet I say a lot of things. Do you mind refreshing my memory on what I said specifically?" He asked.

She shifted in the seat. "Um...about how I can talk to you comfortably about anything..." She mumbled. More of his attention was grabbed now. Yes, he surely remembered saying that. He couldn't quite forget, especially how she had packed herself into a corner of the room right before he said that.

"Yes, I remember now. I did say that. And yes, that still applies." He said. "Is there anything that you want to discuss?" He asked, somewhat urging on the inside for her to come out and admit to something. But if he were to hear something he didn't want to, what would he do to help solve the situation?

Although, she shook her head. "N-no...I was just wondering if you remembered..." She said. He gave a stiff nod. "Okay. Well, yes I remember." He said, then continuing to type. She continued to sit there for a little bit, staring down at her lap. He looked over at her, then stopping his typing again.

"You know, I'm about to head to one of the warehouses today to oversee a few prototypes for some office desks. I think that it would be very helpful if you come with." He suggested. Violet shook her head. "I c-can't. It's completely off limits for an assistant to join the CEO when he is visiting sites. The COO should go..." She said.

Lucious clicked his pen, grinning at her while leaning back in his desk chair. "And whose rule was that? Because it's not the chairman's." He said. "Mr. Wests'..." Violet said. Lucious pretended to look confused, looking around. "Mr. West? Oh, I didn't realize that he was here this morning. Is he hiding somewhere?" Lucious asked, pretending to look around for him.

To his surprise, this had caused a sudden but small change in Violets facial expression. She smiled faintly, the smallest hum coming out of her mouth. Lucious noticed this. He felt pleased with this, knowing that this is probably the first time he has ever seen her react this way to something.

"I don't think that he's here, Violet. Meaning that you are free to come with. Besides, I'm sure that the COO finds it much less interesting than you do. He wouldn't mind the company." Said Lucious. "And after that, we can all go somewhere and get something to eat. My treat." He said.

She hesitated before speaking by opening her mouth and closing it again. She then only nodded, realizing that she had no other protest. "Okay..." She said. Lucious gave a satisfied head nod. "Good." He said. He then shut his laptop. "We leave in ten minutes." He said.
