Next Morning

[]

Lucious bobbed his head slightly to the upbeat hipster music that blasted throughout his kitchen at 6am this morning.

He used a spatula to flip over the toast that he was heating in the pan. He winced when he nearly burned his fingertip from the steam.

He sang along to the words, focused on the task of making breakfast. He didn't know that at some point, a pair of eyes were focused on him.

Violet's Point Of View

[]

He didn't even notice me come down the stairs. I don't know how long he was awake, but his energy made me feel like it had to be well before I opened my eyes.

One moment, I was terrified of shutting my eyes in his house. In his bed. To wear his clothes. On one hand, he could be intimidating and assertive. But on the other hand, I find myself lost in observing him the exact same way I'm doing at this very moment from around this corner.

He surely doesn't dance like someone in their twenties. But because of this, it makes me even more fascinated about him. He has been so nice to me since he came to the company. Treating me with so much care and respect. What is a woman to make of this sort of treatment?

Would I be a fool again to develop trust? Maybe I would. But why was it so hard to prevent myself from doing so? He's my employer...but something about him makes me smile with warmth I don't think I've ever felt before.

Lucious turned around to complete a rather cocky and quick turn around spin, and nearly left his body once he saw Violet peeking at him from behind a wall.

"Jesus..!" He exclaimed, putting his hand onto his chest. She smiled, resembling a chuckle at his reaction as she came out of hiding and walking into the kitchen completely.

"You're as quiet as a mouse, you know that?" He asked. She twisted her mouth to the side. He stuck out his hands slowly. "Want to dance with me?" He asked. She stared down at his hands in hesitation before staring up at him again. She retracted at first, skeptical.

"I don't know how to dance to this..." She said as she shyly glided her hands into his. His hands were a size or two larger than hers, but they felt warm and toned. "You just step to it." He said, beginning to extend his arms in front of him and back away while still holding hers. He came back up to her, then would take some steps back, then sometimes spin and come back.

He used her as a guide, circling around her and taking steps with his feet to keep up with the beat. He would spin the both of them together slowly while he coached her on the moves. He sung along to the lyrics, making her laugh and smile at this new and exciting moment.

[stop song] Lucious took a spoonful of his blueberry yogurt while he leaned across the countertop, watching Violet examine her food.

"You...didn't make anything for yourself?" She asked. He shook his head. "I typically don't eat breakfast. I prefer lunch and dinner only. Or in the morning I'd just have something extremely light." He said.
