"I care about you Violet.."

"I don't trust what is going on. I haven't for a while, now..."

Lucious was thinking so deeply about this while he tapped his foot anxiously on the polished floor of the upscale tea shop.

After he said those sentences into the phone to her yesterday, he was conflicted. He had hoped that his words didn't sound as if he was admitting to something or trying to give her some sort of impression.

He hoped that by admitting that he got frustrated with her for a short moment didn't make her think that his feelings would become a problem.

After he said that and abruptly ended the phone call, he didn't hear back from her. Sure, it's only been 24 hours, but something about their chemistry seemed shaken by that single sentence and he hoped he was wrong about it.

He knew how defensive and naive she was about the relationship that she and Elijah had. He's met a few people like that in his life. He hated to say he didn't understand them very well.

"Large Elderberry Lemon!"

The sound of the server called out his tea order interrupted his thought process. He reached for it swiftly with the intention of making things less awkward. "Thank you." He said.

Suddenly, a hand reached out for it at the same time as he did. Their hands almost brushed, and they snapped up their heads to look at each other.

Himself and a brown skinned woman with an eyebrow piercing looked at each other. She stood up straight, and so did he with delay. "I'm sorry." She said with a matter of fact tone. "I also ordered elderberry." She said. "It's fine, it might be yours." Lucious said.

"I forgot that I ordered mine to come iced. Yours is in a hot cup." She said. Lucious noticed this, then reached out to pick it up. "I don't meet many people who like elderberry tea. Some say it's a tricky tea because too much of it can actually give you negative effects rather than good." She said.

"Really? I'll make sure I tell my assistant that." Lucious said. "Your assistant?" The woman asked, a frowned face of confusion. "You're the boss and you're getting something for your assistant? Wow..." She said, nodding. "Well, I know it's usually the other way around. In this case, she and I formed a close friendship so she can tolerate me bringing her things like this from time to time." He said.

"The only person I know who loves elderberry tea that much is my sister. She would always be very excited when they call her name for it. 'Violet'." Said the woman.

Lucious paused. "Violet. Your sister's name is Violet? My assistant also has that same name." Said Lucious. "My sister is thin. Curly hair and whatnot. I can't say I know how she's looking nowadays." Said the woman, shaking her head and looking away for a moment.

"Resembles the look of my assistant. Although your sister and my assistant might have different personalities. My assistant is a very sweet woman, but she's shy and ridden with anxiety- My sister is like that too." Said the woman. Lucious put his hand into his pocket.
