It was a breezy autumn afternoon, the kind where the leaves danced around your feet, swirling in shades of gold and red. You had just wrapped up another exhausting basketball practice and were heading towards the school gates, still catching your breath. The oversized hoodie you wore was practically a second skin, something you relied on for comfort after each gruelling session. But today, you had a feeling that your hoodie might not stay yours for long.
As you approached the gates, you spotted Yeseo leaning casually against the wall, her eyes lighting up the moment she saw you. She pushed off the wall with a playful smirk, her signature looks whenever she was up to something.
"Hey, Y/N! Done being a basketball star for the day?" she teased, her voice lilting with that flirtatious tone you had come to know all too well.
"Just about," you replied with a grin, falling in step beside her.
"What's up?"
"Oh, nothing much," she said, her tone dripping with mischief.
"I was just thinking... it's getting colder, isn't it?"
You chuckled, sensing where this was going. "Yeah, it is. But I'm not giving you my hoodie this time, Yeseo."
She gasped dramatically, feigning offence. "Who said anything about taking your hoodie? I was just making an observation!" While pouting.
"Sure you were," you said, rolling your eyes as you both continued down the hallway.
The two of you had this playful back-and-forth going on for weeks now—always flirting, never quite crossing the line into something more, but always teetering on the edge. It was thrilling, and you couldn't deny that you enjoyed every second of it.
Reaching your locker, you opened it to grab your things when you suddenly felt a tug on your hoodie. You turned around just in time to see Yeseo slipping it off your shoulders with a sly grin.
"Yeseo-ah!" you laughed, trying to grab it back, but she was too quick. She darted out of your reach, pulling the hoodie over her head.
"Too slow, Y/N!" she called out, her laughter echoing down the hallway.
You chased after her, but when you caught up, you couldn't help but stop and stare. The hoodie, far too big for her, made her look even more adorable. The sleeves flopped around as she tried to push them up, and she peered at you from under the hood with a look that could only be described as mischievously sweet.
"Yeseo-ah, what are you going to do with another one of my hoodies?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Hmm... it looks really comfy," she said, twirling the hoodie in her hands. "And it smells like you."
Your heart skipped a beat at her words, a mix of embarrassment and something sweeter filling your chest. "If you want to wear it, just ask," you replied, trying to sound casual.
"Ask?" She grinned, pulling the hoodie over her head in one swift motion. The oversized garment swallowed her petite frame, the sleeves hanging way past her hands. "Where's the fun in that?"
You couldn't help but laugh. The sight of her in your hoodie was undeniably adorable. The sleeves flopped around as she tried to push them up, and she looked up at you, a playful pout on her lips.
"Well?" she asked, doing a little twirl.
"How do I look?"
"Like a hoodie thief," you replied, your voice warm with affection.
"But a cute one, so I'll let it slide."
She beamed, clearly pleased with your response.
"Good, because I'm not giving it back."
You chuckled, shaking your head.
"I figured as much."
As you both walked out of the school, the cool breeze ruffled your hair, but you hardly noticed. Yeseo was practically skipping beside you, the oversized hoodie swaying with each step. You could feel the playful tension between you two, the unspoken flirtation that made every interaction feel like a game.
When you reached her house, she paused at the gate, turning to face you. The streetlights had just flickered on, casting a soft glow over her face. She looked up at you, her expression softening for just a moment.
"Thanks for the hoodie, Y/N," she said, her voice quieter now, more sincere.
"Anytime, Yeseo," you replied, your heart doing that familiar little flip it always did when she was around.
She hesitated, then stood on her tiptoes to press a quick kiss to your cheek. It was a simple gesture, but it sent warmth flooding through you, the kind that no hoodie could ever provide.
Before you could say anything, she stepped back, a playful grin already back on her face.
"See you tomorrow, Hoodie Boy!"
"Goodnight, Hoodie Thief," you called after her, grinning as she disappeared inside.
You stood there for a moment longer, a stupid smile plastered on your face, before turning to head home. The wind was cold, but you didn't mind. Yeseo had your hoodie, and maybe something else too—a part of you that you were more than happy to let her steal.
