Still wrapped in the moving embrace, they reluctantly pulled away when the dreaded bell rang. "Not bad, Skyler." Jason looked into her eyes and Skyler smiled. "Thank you. But in my opinion you danced better, little bluejay,." Sshe winked.
Jason blinked. She hadn't used that nickname since elementary school! He blushed,. "tThanks for the compliment, Skyler cat." He had started calling her that when they were 6six and she didn't mind it. The name had kinda stuck, you know.
Skyler forced herself to step away from him and made her way to the door.
Mrs. Colson's old ears hadn't heard the bell. "Where do you think you're going? Come back here this instant!" She shouted at the class who ignored her. Skyler laughed quietly at her old teacher's confusion.
Today was a good day. sShe hadn't felt this way since... ever! To be honest she was used to hating life. That's how most orphans were. Now that she knew that Jason was there for her, she actually felt lucky!

Smiling to herself as she walked down the hall, Skyler wasn't looking where she was going. She took a double take when she slammed into something. Or someone. Her eyes darkened. Seriously? She thought nervously, trying not to cower from the bully.
Kash narrowed his icy blue eyes. "So, you came back?" He glared. "I thought that I had finally scared you off." He snorted,. "I should have known I wasn't that lucky." He took a step towards her threateningly. "Get back!" Skyler glared, backing away slowly. Where was Jason when she needed him?
She glanced around, frantically searching for the handsome brunette. To no avail.
Kash shook his head. "Are you looking for your boyfriend?" Hhe sneered. "Waiting for someone to come save you? No one is here." He taunted,. "And you're too weak to defend yourself anyway. So this will be easy." He stepped forward again. "Easy and painful." He popped his knuckles.
Skyler whimpered, ducking on the floor as Kash aimed a swipe at her head. Backed into the corner, against a wall, she snorted when Kash missed, taking a punch at her gut.

She blocked his fist, still curled up on the floor. "Don't you have a life?" He laughed.
sShe winced when his fist collided with her knee. She glared up at the bully, hatred burning in her eyes. "Do you?" she challenged, thrusting a leg forward. It was fight or flight and she wasn't going to keep taking this. A surge off confidence radiated through her and defense turned into offense.
She caught him on the knee, making it buckle. "you!" he swore under his breath, trying to get back up, but Skyler was on him, throwing punches at his face. Something had taken control of her and she wasn't even thinking, the moves just came to her. Kash growled, fending her off sloppily. Skyler smirked with cruel satisfaction when she felt her fist connect with his jaw, and punched even harder at his eye. Kash gasped, trying to throw her off her feet, but she clung onto his back, clawing at his hair. "Get off me!" he yelled.
She attempted to give him a swift kick between his legs but he dodged. "Are you crazy?"
Skyler didn't move as he tried to fling her off. "Aw, what's the matter?" Skyler growled. "Is this little bug too scary for you? Am I too much to handle?" she hissed under her breath, he froze but still she didn't let go.
Suddenly, a loud crash sounded and the bully collapsed to the ground. Someone had thrown a textbook at him. She jumped to the floor in time before he lost balance with a grunt, smacking his head on the hard floor. "Next time know who you're dealing with!" she whispered at the dazed boy harshly. "And I am not weak!" she huffed triumphantly, turning to see who had helped her.

A red haired girl was peeking through the library door. Her blue eyes were troubled and she was beckoning to the other urgently. "Over here!" the stranger whispered, ushering Skyler over to her. The halls were empty, only the three of them in it. "Come quickly!" the freckled girl shoved her through the door. Skyler whipped around. "What the-" she gasped when the door shut behind them. "What are you doing?" she grumbled. The other girl shrugged. "I think the words you were trying to look for was thank you." she tapped a foot crossly. Skyler folded her arms. "I had it under control!" She defended herself hotly. The other rolled her eyes. " but I still helped you escape."

Skyler rolled hers in response. "Whatever you need to tell yourself, strange girl." she shrugged.
"I don't know about you but where I come from, this is called kidnapping!" she exclaimed. The red head snorted. "Not really., fFirst of all, you came to me willingly, second of all, we are on school property and third of all, neither of us are little kids so..." she retorted. Skyler stopped. She has a point... she shook the thought away. "Whatever, are you in speech and debate or something?" she asked pointedly. The girl nodded. "Why? Does it show?"
Skyler rolled her brown eyes yet again . "Duh. yYou seem like the kind of student who gets straight A's in math. The teacher's pet. Am I wrong?" Skyler waited for an argument to break out but the girl straightened up. "You aren't necessarily wrong, but I wouldn't say it like that. I would just say that I am well educated,." she suggested. Skyler huffed. "Oh? And I'm not?" she glared.
The girl stopped her. "I never said that, though I suggest you sit down. It seems that the adrenaline is getting to your head and you are deliberately trying to pick a fight." Skyler opened her mouth to object but a yawn escaped her. "Fine..." she muttered, taking a seat at the library desk. "I might as well know the name of my so-called superior." she mocked. The girl answered cheerfully. "Oh! My name is Jaimey Princeton." She smiled. "How about you miss damsel in distress?"
Skyler blinked, eyes wide. "You are related to Kash?" she asked wearily. Oh crap this is a trap and I just followed her into a dark room! I'm going to die here! She breathed deeply to calm her pounding heart. What had she gotten herself into?

Jaimey sighed, scratching the back of her neck. "Yah... he's my brother." she rolled her eyes. Skyler gasped. "I didn't start the fight! I swear! I didn't mean to hurt your brother!" she insisted. "Please don't kill me!" she begged. Jaimey laughed. "Oh, Wasn't planning on it! Kash is a jerk."
Skyler gaped. "Wait, you aren't mad at me?" she blinked. Jaimey shrugged. "Of course not! Why do you think I threw a textbook at his face!" she laughed. Skyler blinked. "Why did you?"
Jaimey shrugged again. "He deserved it." she said plaintively. "And how would I kill you anyway? It's not like I'm armed! Do you think I could kill you with pencil shavings and books?" she pointed out. "I'm not that talented!"
Skyler bit her tongue, looking around the mostly empty room. I guess that's true... she sighed. "All right. Your story adds up. My name is Skyler."
Jaimey nodded. "So you are the poor victim from seventh grade." she recognized. Skyler squirmed. "Yah I wouldn't say it like that-''
Jaimey interrupted her. "So why are you so tired?" she squinted as Skyler yawned again. Skyler shrugged.
"I am not entirely sure but I think it has something to do with this headache I have been getting." she yawned again.

Suddenly, Jaimey's expression turned serious. "Like how serious of a headache are you talking?" she sounded concerned. Skyler stifled an impatient sigh. Why is everyone freaking out about it? It's just a headache! It's not like i'm dying or anything! She answered calmly instead, swallowing her pride. "It's a throbbing in my head that keeps returning randomly,." she explained, but Jaimey's face darkened. Skyler blinked. "It isn't that serious-" she tried to reassure but Jaimey stopped her. "I will be the judge of that." she narrowed her eyes. Skyler gaped. How dare she cut me off! "What? Are you some sort of nurse or something?" she scoffed. Jaimey smiled slyly. "I guess you could say that... I know what I am doing" she shook her head. "I recognize your voice Skyler." Skyler's eyes widened. Well I have never seen you before in my life! She stopped herself from saying so as Jaimey continued. Just because she was rude didn't mean Skyler should be!

Jaimey blinked as realization filled her gaze. "You were here this morning, weren't you!" it wasn't a question but Skyler still nodded. "I can sense something in you. A darkness surrounds you, Skyler."
She looked Aat Skyler urgently again. "It's coming and we must prepare!" She whispered eerily.
Skyler gasped. "You were doing the chanting this morning?" Jaimey shrugged. "It was more of a whisper, but yep." Skyler tilted her head in confusion. "Why? What is coming?" Jaimey slapped Skyler's hand. "I'm asking the questions!" Skyler jerked her hand back in indignation. Ow!
Jaimey furrowed her brows, closing her eyes and placing her hands on Skyler's head. Skyler blinked. What the heck is she doing? But she stayed silent feeling like she was receiving some kind of LDS blessing or something. Jaimey pulled away, gaze shadowed with concern. "I was right. You have seen it!"
By now Skyler was getting freaked out. "Seen what?" What was this witch talking about?
Jaimey grabbed her shoulders with a look of wild panic in her eyes. "You are in danger, Skyler! Because you have seen him." Skyler shuddered. "Wh-who?" she was afraid to ask. Jaimey sighed, clenching a fist. "The Shapeless."
