Skyler was in the middle of a light conversation with Jason when they saw him.
"Peter!" Her eyes lit up and Jason heaved a sigh of relief. "Where have you been, man?" He gave him a nudge.
Peter looked at him, replying, "wWalking around."
"During class?" Skyler asked, bewildered.
Peter shrugged. "I didn't feel like dancing,." Hhe replied. Skyler could tell that he wasn't telling them the whole truth.
She tried to put her misgivings aside.
"Okay. Peter, we are all three going to meet up at Jason's house-"

Peter interrupted her. "Why his house?"
Skyler tried not to sound exasperated.
"Because I live at a dusty orphanage and you..." she blinked. She couldn't think of a reason not to go to his house. But she would definitely feel safer at Jason's house instead of the blonde's. After all, they didn't know him very well.

Peter nodded,. "I guess we are going to Jason's, then." Skyler frowned at the lack of emotion in her friend's voice.
He didn't seem completely focused.
She shrugged. Hanging with Jaimey must have put him on edge. Understandably. She decided, following Jason out the highschool doors.
Skyler sighed when she realized how close to the school Jason lived. Lucky him! She thought sarcastically.
They passed several fields, yellow wheat that stretched on both sides of the road.
A Ccow let out a bellow that made Peter jump.
"Are you okay, Peter?" Sshe stared at him quizzically. "It's just a cow." She would have laughed if not for Peter's shocked expression.
He shook his head nervously. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine. I just thought that I heard something..." he trailed off. "It's not important." But he cast a frightened glance at the dairy cow before walking again.
Skyler was even more confused than before.
A mouse wriggled between the trio, Peter accidentally stepping on its tail. The mouse squealed indignantly and Peter immediately jumped back, staring after the running rodent.
She frowned. iIs he scared of animals? At last, they came within sight of Jason's house. The red and white brick visible over the rising hill.
Why was Peter being so jumpy? Did he actually have a fear of animals or something?
She wasn't sure but that would be odd.

Jason raced ahead to open the door for them.
"After you, beautiful,." Hhe winked at Skyler. She smiled ruffling his hair as she passed by.
Peter was staring off into the distance.
Puzzled, Jason whistled to get the blonde's attention. Peter flinched, facing him.
Jason was still holding the door. "Are you coming?" Hhe asked expectantly.
Peter shook himself before walking into the house.
Skyler and Jason exchanged a glance.
Something wasn't right.
"Right this way." Jason cleared his throat as he ledading them Iinto the living room.
Skyler smiled. "This place brings back memories,." Sshe murmured softly in his ear. Jason brightened. "It sure does,." Hhe winked.
Skyler smirked in return. Deciding to say something that was sure to catch him off guard.
"I fell asleep on your shoulder right here,." Sshe winkedsaid, pointing to the green couch.
Jason blushed. "Wait... you remember? But you said that you didn't-"
Skyler fluttered her lashes. "You aren't the only one who can keep a secret,." Sshe informed him flirtatiously.
Jason blinked, speechless.

Skyler patted the cousions and he sat next to her, seeming suddenly shy. Rolling her brown eyes playfully, she pulled him closer. "Why are you being so shy?"
Jason finally found his voice. "Flirty or not, you will always make me speechless,." Hhe rasped out.
Skyler smiled, grasping his hand.
She made a squeaking sound when she remembered that they weren't alone.

Turning to Peter her face flushed.
To her relief and confusion, Peter wasn't even paying attention.
He had taken a seat and was staring aimlessly out the large window.
"Ehem,." Skyler startled him, and the blonde blinked himself back to the land of the living.
"What is it?" he asked.
Skyler looked at Jason who shrugged.
"Okay, so, I told Ella about Anthony and the danger he is in..."
Jason blinked. "Did you tell her about the Shapeless?"
Skyler shook her head. "No, there wasn't much time."
She facepalmed inwardly. Truth was, she hadn't meant to leave that information out.
Poor Ella was probably so confused.
Jason smiled, sensing her stress. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "It's okay, Skyler cat. You can just tell her at school."
Skyler sighed. "But that's in two days!" She protested. It was Friday afternoon and the beginning of the weekend.
