Ella ran down the hall, furious.
Skyler was her best friend. She was supposed to be able to trust her! Apparently that was too much to expect.
Footsteps echoing loudly, Ella turned the corner so sharply she about fell over.
She skidded to a halt in front of a door, nearly smacking into the wall.
Entering the door for first period, the blonde reluctantly took her seat next to Skyler's.
It was empty thankfully but she didn't dare allow herself to feel relief.
Speaking of the devil.
Not long after she had sat down, Skyler's cult arrived at the door. Jason gave Skyler a hug and left. The other boy that she finally knew the name of hung back.
The blonde's name was Peter. When Ella and Peter locked eyes she was surprised to see regret on his murderous face.
Too late. Ella thought, wrenching her gaze away.
She assumed he left but didn't look up.
She flinched at the sound of Skyler taking her seat next to her. With a glare, Ella kept her eyes on the floor, determined not to make eye contact.
Skyler was worse than a stranger now.

Class seemed to drag on, drumming her fingers impatiently on her desk.
Relief shot through her when at last the bell rang.
Delaying as little time as possible, she got to her feet, making her way across the room. She had almost made it to the door when someone grabbed her arm.
Ella froze, refusing to turn around or speak.
"Ella!" Skyler's voice was soft. "Please."
Ella's expression hardened. "What do you want?" Skyler flinched at her friend's harsh tone.
"Ella... we need to talk-"
"No. Actually we don't." Ella growled, wrenching herself away so Skyler lost her grip and shouldered her way through the doorway.

She entered the hall, steaming with anger.
Skyler was the one who had betrayed her! How dare she speak to her. And the nerve... Skyler had the nerve to act like Ella was the bad guy?
She knew that Skyler would do everything she could to make Ella listen.
The blonde shook her head. That wouldn't happen. She wouldn't give her the chance.

Still silently cursing, she wasn't looking where she was going when something rammed into her from ahead. She had slammed into the wall.
With a yelp, Ella fell to the floor, papers scattered around her.
Slowly getting to her feet, Ella crawled on hands and knees, collecting her things into her arms.
Footsteps approached but she wasn't paying attention.

"Do you need some help?" a sympathetic voice asked. Eyes still on the paper Ella nodded.
The other person crouched and began to gather the loose paper into his arms as well.
Ella smiled with gratitude when he offered his hand. She accepted it and let him pull her to her feet.
"Are you Okay?" The boy demanded.
"Yes. Thank y-" Ella bit her tongue when she saw who he was.
"You!" Ella hissed.
Peter blinked. "You're welcome. I'm sorry for your loss-"
Ella stopped him. "No you're not! You're the one who killed him! How dare you even-"

Peter looked at her sadly but she glared.
"I don't know what makes you think that it was my fault but i hope you realize my innocence before it's too late." He spoke.

Ella scowled. "Is that a threat?" She gritted her teeth but Peter shook his head, holding out his arms.
"No. Here are your things. Just try not to trip next time." He advised.
Ella's gaze hardened. "Thanks for the lecture mister Perfect but i have it covered." She sniffed, snatching the paper away from him.
Peter sighed. "Okay, see you around..."

Hopefully not
Ella stomped away without answering.

She glared to herself, muttering quietly.
Entering second period, the blonde didn't even blink when the next bell rang.
She got up numbly and made her way to the cafeteria.

Lunch time... she didn't know how she felt about that.
With a sigh, she picked out a tray of mushroom pizza.
Skyler would have hated this! She thought with breif amusement. Her best friend absolutely loathed mushrooms and Ella always teased her about it. She smiled to herself in remembrance.
She stood still for a moment before shaking her head sadly. That was before she had realized that Skyler was a backstabbing son of a....
She furrowed her brows, taking a seat at one of the many tables.
Lonely, Ella gazed at the table across the room. Longing for some company, she watched as Jason and Skyler talked. Ella smirked for a moment. She had always known those two would get together.
She nodded in satisfaction, part of her wanting to join them.
But a louder voice in her head reminded her of her rage and she wrenched her gaze away.
Staring at the floor, Ella heard footsteps approaching. She didn't look up until someone sat down next to her.
Finally raising her head, the blonde felt tears forming. "Timmy!" She was so relieved to see her boyfriend she thought she might faint.
Timmy smiled back at her. "Hey gorgeous. What-" he was cut off by Ella, who thrust him into a hug. She held onto his warmth and he wrapped his arms around her comfortingly.
"Ella? What's wrong angel?"
Ella didn't pull away. "Anthony..." she sniffed.
"That's your brother right?"
Ella took in a shuddering gasp. "He's hes d-dead!" She sobbed into his jacket.
Timmy stiffened, pulling her closer. "Shh it's okay baby everything is going to be Okay." He soothed.
Ella shook her head. "How could it? Anthony is gone! Its all my fault!" She blurted.
"Did you kill him?"
Timmy kept his voice low and even. His deep tone calmed her nerves a bit but greif still gripped her. She shook her head, pulling out of the embrace.

The hispanic nodded. "Then Its not your fault. He should have been more careful." Timmy gazed into her blue eyes with his brown ones.
"Trust me beautiful. You can do this. You are the strongest person I know." He winked.
Ella blushed as he stroked her cheek with a thumb. She could have stayed like that forever with her crush holding her, getting lost in his rich, brown eyes and dark hair.

The tan skinned boy smiled. "Why don't you talk to Skyler about this? She'll know what to do." He prompted.
Ella's heart sank and reality flooded her senses once more. How Peter had killed Anthony and Skyler had sided with a criminal.
She shook her head roughly.
Timmy frowned. "What is wrong?"
Ella forced herself to speak.
"Skyler means nothing to me-" that was a lie but she had to get used to saying so.
"I don't want to talk to her about anything ever." She growled.
Timmy froze, "But you must!" He spluttered.
Ella rolled her eyes. "Why? I don't need her. Its her loss."
Timmy shook his head. "No! Its both your loss- "
"Why do you care?" Ella demanded.
"Because I care about you and I know how much Skyler means to you." Timmy prompted, voice gentle.

Ella was quiet for a moment.
"Come on. What is going on?" He pressed.
"I know you have gotten in arguments before but I can see this time is different. You can tell me." He soothed.
Ella nodded guiltily.
"Skyler knew that Anthony was in danger. She told me how to save him but obviously it didn't work..."
Timmy's eyes widened. "What did you say?" His voice sounded shocked.

"Skyler knew that he was in trouble-"
Timmy didn't let her finish.
"How is that possible?" He demanded.
Ella fidgeted uncomfortably. Though they weren't friends anymore, she felt like she should keep Skyler's vision a secret.
She shrugged, avoiding eye contact but Timmy had noticed.
"You know something." He realized.
Ella looked away as he questioned her further.
"Who told her about Anthony?" Timmy sounded puzzled.
"No one told her! She just knows things!" She blurted.
Timmy blinked. "Knows things? What do you mean?"
"I don't know! She never had any visions when we were younger-" she stopped, realizing what she had said.
"I mean..."
Timmy interrupted her. "So Skyler is some kind of Psychic. Interesting. I didn't even know that was a real thing."
Ella felt very uncomfortable and guilty that she had just betrayed Skyler's trust.
But she didn't deserve her loyalty! She tried to convince and remind herself.

"Do you know anything else about her abnormal ability?" He prompted.
Ella shook her head. "No... that's all."
"Are you sure?" Timmy didn't sound convinced.
But Ella nodded firmly.
The hispanic looked intrigued.
"I've always wondered what its like to have powers." His eyes held a far off look.
"But magic doesn't exist." Ella protested.
Timmy shrugged. "Skyler is proof that it does." His excited tone made her uneasy. It was just as well considering what he said next.
"Apologize to Skyler. Find out what makes her special." He advised.
Why can't he ask her himself? She wondered silently.
Timmy shrugged. "She doesn't know me enough to trust me yet, but you can tell me."
Ella flinched. Did I say that out loud or can my boyfriend read minds? She swallowed as his words sank in.
"I...don't know if-"
"Please. You are the only one who can help me." He begged.
" I've been trying to find proof that magic exist for forever!"
Ella frowned. "Skyler won't like me telling you..." she argued.
"Who says she has to know?"
He winked.
Ella scowled nervously. "You want me to spy on my own friends?" She gaped.
"Well yes. But they aren't your friends anymore right. Think of it as an important mission against the enemy." He explained.
The blonde took a deep breath before replying. "Okay, ill do it."
Timmy grinned.
Ella tried to push her uneasiness down.
After all.  It was just Timmy. Right?
