Eight songs now, I know, I know, I'll get my computer up eventually but like I said last chapter, my room isn't top priority. I have more of my original art at the top of the page today though, if you reader-chans like it at all. Oh! And thank you to the one reader reading this (as of August 2024)! Every day I check and see that you read another chapter and it makes me so happy!!! 😁

I mentally remind myself to say sorry to Toshinori later, gazing up at the massive building of Endeavor's hero agency, the number two hero awaiting us out front. Todoroki stands by my side, hesitant and timid as he looks at his father. Being the amazingly stupid friend that I am, I offered to see this through with him, having got an offer from the hero myself. All Todoroki has told me so far is that Endeavor subjected him to an abusive childhood because he was some chosen one in the family, having both the ice and fire quirk as a mix of both parents. I can empathize with him honestly, although I have no experience in abusive relationships.
"Shoto, Hinako, welcome again to my hero agency." Endeavor makes a grand gesture towards the massive, bougie building, "My assistants will help you inside, we head out for Hosu tonight, so you can put on your hero costumes now if you wish." He spins on his heel to walk inside, flames billowing around him, "Shoto, I wish to speak with you privately after you get situated."
Endeavor then shows us inside and goes up to his office, his assistants piling on Todoroki like flies to garbage. Not that I'm saying Todoroki is garbage, but that he looks like he's having a garbage day, I guess. The assistants haven't been able to work with us the past two days, so it's a new experience for us all. Burnin' is the one that first notices me out of the group and walks over, introducing herself with a fiery attitude and warm handshake, "Nice to meet you! I'm Burnin'! Heard a lot about you from the boss, think you can siphon me some gear?" She winks and giggles, but it sounds more like a rough witch's cackle, "I'm messing with you! Make yourself at home. ALRIGHT YOU GUYS BACK TO WORK!" She yells at her teammates that still surround Todoroki, smiling at both of us before leaving us by our lonesome.
"Sooooooo..." I make a clicking noise with my tongue, "Nice place you've got here."
Todoroki groans, a grimace clear on his face, "Yeah, you could call it that."
I gasp dramatically, clutching my handmade hero costume case against my chest, "THE Shoto Todoroki knows sarcasm!?" I chuckle, making Todoroki look less somber, even if it's just a little bit, "You should use sarcasm more often, you have the perfect deadpan expression and even, serious tone for it."
"Thanks..?" Todoroki sighs, "Let's just get this over with already."
"It's only been two days, it'll be alright Todoroki-san, I've got your back." I glance around the room, mouth salivating and stomach about to eat itself, "Do you know where I can get some food around here, Todo-san?" I look into the heterochromatic eyes of my two-color hair friend and he looks at me with skepticism, "What? Oh dang..." The realization that I just called him a nickname hits me like a bullet train, "Sorry, I meant to say Todoroki-san." I quickly correct.
"It's fine." He assures me, pointing towards what seems to be a break room, "There should be food in there, but I could use dear old dad's credit card to get something better later."
"Oh heck yes." I smile, turning my body towards the break room, "Can we get takoyaki later? Oh wait no, fluffy pancakes. Totally fluffy pancakes."
"Do you ever get full?" Todoroki asks, very concerned, following me as I start trekking toward the break room.
"I'm either super hungry on really good, happy days, or super anxiety and depressing days." I smile as I see hot food behind the glass door, "Today I'm super anxious, but that's normal nowadays, today is just that sinking feeling, I guess." I open the door and grab whatever hot pastry is sitting in a box on the table, taking a massive bite and moaning as the flavor drips on my tongue. I then realize Todoroki is watching me, and I nearly choke, "Doesn't your 'dear old dad' want to talk to you? Ima be here so you can go do the whole daddy, son, arguing thing."
"Yeah..." He looks off towards Endeavor's office upstairs with mild reluctance, "Might as well get this over with." He mumbles, "I'll be back." He walks over and drags his feet as he goes up the stairs, glancing at Endeavor's assistants before sighing and walking his butt up the stairs and into the office with more motivation. I guess the time he saw his mother payed off, he's gotten more confident.
I stuff more pastry into my food hole, surprised as I find custard seeping out of the middle, nearly choking again. Then I get a phone call, the ringtone blaring in my ears and echoing badly in the empty room, making a few look over at me. I wave as if to say sorry and fumble my phone out of my uniform jacket pocket, answering it, "Hey, Chikako Hinako speaking." I say with a mouthful of breakfast pastry.
"The hell are you doing Glowstick?" Bakugo answers. I didn't even check the name before I answered so his voice was unanticipated.
"Giving Todoroki-san a blowjob," I say nonchalantly, "right in Endeavor's break room." I then burst out laughing, "I'm kidding, I'm eating a custard pastry, what's up?"
"You're so damn weird, and the hell would you do with the IcyHot bastard?" Bakugo complains, "Anyways, I'm at Best Jeanist's agency, not that you told me to tell you when I got here or anything, I'm just doing it because I can, okay extra?" He states in a near shout, "Bye."
I snicker, "Okay Baku-san, don't worry, I won't tell anyone you care. Bye, bye." I hover my finger over the end call button, but stop myself when he doesn't hang up first like he usually does, "And I made it to Endeavor's agency safe too."
"Like I care." I can practically hear him roll his crimson eyes over the phone, "Get off the phone with me already, your voice is annoying."
"Talk to you later, Baku-san."
"Yeah, whatever."
I hang up, looking up to find Todoroki coming back down the stairs, fuming at whatever he just discussed with Endeavor. I wave at him, smiling around the pastry I just stuffed into my mouth; in my defense, the custard was starting to slip out and I didn't want to lose it, "How'd it go?"
"Absolutely horrible."
