"This is the first time I've made, let alone worn a hero costume before." I remark through the breathable fabric of the long neck that reaches up to cover my face, therefore hiding my identity from those called 'villains'. It's all the same ideals, people, just different ways of getting crap done. I sigh, "I'll be off, the bus leaves at- HOLY THREE MINUTES! Bye!" I rush out of the door with my compactable tool kit in hand, a new prototype which I'm testing out. I got a lot of help from Power Loader and some of the other students so it may just work.
Aizawa-sensei looks at me skeptically as I run up to the already full bus with one minute to spare, panting and hands on my knees. I unzip my collar slightly- thankfully I put a zipper on the overly long face cover collar extension- allowing air directly to my nostrils rather than through a thin-ish layer of fabric. Then I step onto the bus and find a seat behind Jiro, who's sitting next to some blonde that I'm assuming is Bakugo.
"Heya Hina-san." Jiro rests her arms on the back of her seat and looks at me, "How'd you end up getting stuck with us?"
"Ah, well..." I look at the passengers Jiro may find 'unpleasant' enough to say I'm stuck with the class, then turn to her, "They wanted me there in case you guys need a patch up on your hero costume or support gear since I might be the one that made the costumes and stuff..." I mumble the last part so only she and maybe the blonde beside her, as well as the boy beside me might overhear, but no one else on the bus.
"No way." She looks at me, slightly shocked, "You hand-made all of these? That's rocking!" She whispers back, "I guess it makes sense."
"... with his personality he wouldn't be a very popular hero, ribbit." I overhear a girl, that from what I can tell is has a frog quirk, and the blonde Bakugo loses his cool demeanor, yelling at her for being teased. A plain looking green haired boy- Midoriya- seems to have a panic attack as more people make playful jabs at Bakugo and his temper. I deduce that he must know the side effects of getting on Bakugo's bad side.
Soon enough, we arrive and are ushered inside by pro hero Thirteen, who gives a brief speech. That's when everything begins to go airy. A black portal- no doubt Kurogiri's doing- opens up in the middle of the Unforeseen Simulation Joint near the fountain, revealing a certain crusty-faced man-baby- Shigaraki- and some goons he brought along to "kill All Might". As if he'd be able to kill All Might, his master still babies him like he's a child with a Nomu action figure rather than a grown man trying to kill someone with a multi-quirked behemoth.
"This is not part of the simulation. These are real villains." Aizawa-sensei states, placing his glasses on his face, "Thirteen, protect the students."
"But Aizawa-sensei! You're not suited for close quarters combat! You use stealth tactics to pick off villains one at a time!" Midoriya rambles, making me look back to where he is with a raised eyebrow.
"If I only had one trick up my sleeve, I wouldn't be a pro hero, would I?" He says, jumping into the fray and taking out low-level thugs with both his quirk and combat skills. He looks totally badass, but I don't get to see much before Thirteen is rushing us towards the entrance door, the only door in the facility. Kurogiri stops us before we get too far though, teleporting each student to a different place in the USJ.
He had a monologue, but it was quite boring being that he rehearsed the damn thing for a couple days when I went over to train under him at the bar. What I wasn't expecting was for Bakugo and Kirishima to charge at Kurogiri, I'm pretty sure I saw panic in his glowing yellow eyes for a split second.
I was sent with Bakugo and Kirishima, being fit for any rescue in this facility because of my quirk, though I won't boast about it like Bakugo. Speaking of, he, Kirishima, and I are surrounded by villains as soon as we warp in, on an upper floor of a building somewhere in the collapsed city I would guess. Bakugo immediately takes action, explosions crackling in his hands as he throws his palms into people's faces. Kirishima is close behind, hardening and taking down a few with chops that resemble Iida's air hand chops, but his have purpose other than to exaggerate a statement.
You're only supposed to observe and repair. I remind myself as I use bad karma against the low-level thugs, trying to hold back a bit so I don't damage anyone too badly. These guys still need to be interrogated by police, so I can't knock them into a coma with my karma stores, that would be a waste of power.
Bakugo slams one villain's head into the ground to my right and Kirishima knocks one on the neck with his hardening quirk. The two of them then converse about their next steps when Bakugo and I both sense something in the air. We reach out at the same time; he grabs the chameleon quirk user by the head and setting off an explosion while I bring my fist down on it's back. Somehow, we ended up next to each other... don't ask, I don't know how.
"Your reaction times are fast!" Kirishima comments, both hero class students finally recognizing my existence. Honestly, I don't care they didn't notice me, I made my hero costume with the thought of blending in on the forefront of my mind, I also don't talk much when laser focused like I just was fighting all of those villains.
That's when I register, "Wait, you're that girl from the entrance exam right?" Kirishima comments, the both of us following Bakugo as he makes his way towards the center of the plaza, hoping to stop Kurogiri, knowing a little too much from only one encounter with the warping quirk user. I nod to Kirishima's question, "That's awesome! I didn't know you got in to the hero course!"
"Uh, about that, I'm in the support course but I'm here to monitor your progress and do patch ups on costumes if they get torn, burned, etcetera." I fiddle with my thumbs and mumble the next bit, "I'm the primary maker of those costumes so they thought someone who knows the costumes inside and out would be helpful..."
Damn, he heard me. Kirishima's face lights up, "That's totally cool!"
"Nothing special really..."
"Hey Dumb Hair, Glowstick, be quiet for a damn minute there are more important things than someone making a stupid costume." Bakugo states, our little trio coming up on the center of the USJ at a quick pace.
"Glowstick", eh? I got promoted from "extra" I guess.
