Hatsume had me covered on the basis of the support course section in the 'Coffin in the Sky' called U.A. She was able to make it float alongside a couple of our classmates, but I wasn't much use in that aspect. So here I am, stuck on monitor duty, not really helping much aside from exchanging parts when one fails or supplying more batteries between us and the electrical squad. I feel utterly useless since everyone is picking up the slack before I can get to work. I blame my hip injury but I could've had that fixed and I chose to fight this battle with the tear so it all loops back to being my fault.
Isn't that lovely?
As I work with Hatsume on keeping the systems in check, my other job from being a support student, visions start to flood my left eye overwhelmingly from the fights around us. One scene I find Shigaraki tearing into the people in the Coffin, another viewpoint is from Central Hospital where the heteromorphs are gathered, a third from the Gigantomachia sight, fourth from the bustling around in here, and the rest are more background from where All for One, Toga and Dabi are. Honestly, seeing all these people working so hard makes me feel useless, and angry about being useless. It's a whole thing.
Hatsume wheels up next to me and begins tapping away on her computer, "Getting antsy huh? Feeling like you're not helping?" She says, not even looking up from the screen, "Don't sweat it, you're working plenty. You'd probably be better suited out in the field though," She pushes off and wheels her chair towards another station, and as she goes she shouts back at me, "so why'd you stick around here anyway?"
I run to catch up with her, catching gadgets she tosses my way with surprising accuracy, "I enrolled at this school to be a support course student" She wheels off again and I'm right behind, setting the stuff down at a spot she gestures to, "and I failed the entrance exam so I technically can't be in the field this time either."
"Says who?" She rolls off, tossing something my way as she goes past a table and I barely catch it with one hand, cradling it to myself.
"Me, I guess. Although hero rules in general would probably be broken if I was out there." I run to catch up with her as she wheels back to her computer to fix up a part that she then throws at me, and I throw at the girl who needs it, "I don't even have a provisional license, I'd be breaking the law."
"I'm pretty sure rules won't matter all that much since the world is about to end." Hatsume smiles at me briefly before wheeling away again, "I'm pretty sure they'd be grateful for the help!" She shouts in her wake, digging through a tub of junk and throwing a pile of clothes and support gear at my chest. I fumble a little but catch it in the end. She wheels past me again and to the computer, "I've got it covered here, go." She says seriously, gesturing to the hero costume in my hands without looking at me, then shoos me away.
I sigh, "Dammit Hatsume-san I hate when you're right." I smile widely, running for a secluded corner in the lab to use my second quirk to get out to Aizawa, shouting back to her: "I owe you one Hatsume-san!"
She laughs and I open my blood portal thing, slipping in and closing it before I begin to tear my clothes off. I can always get a new sports uniform courtesy of the school later. Then I start to pull on my hero suit and new support gear as I half-swim in vaguely the right direction towards Aizawa. He's there with Monoma and Manual, just as All Might envisioned, and although he doesn't look my way, my presence alerts Monoma.
