It's as if the universe knew I had learned some things that I would never forget about the heroes of this current world, the one needing to be remade without heroes ruining villainous acts from succeeding. I think it was my grandfather on my stepfather's side, the father who currently cares for me. The piece of dumpster trash I call my biological was a low-level thug back in the day, stealing drugs and whatever other crap he wanted to get his grubby hands on... he's been out of the picture since I was about four or five.

Growing up with my mother, we became thick as thieves, as the saying goes. Every once in a great while, though, I would sneak from my home in the dead of night since the age of about ten, going to see the Yakuza group Shie Hasaikai, their head being my step-grandfather. It only took a quick web search to find the right article to lead me there, I used computers in the library after school at that point.

After knocking on the door the first time and barging in to introduce myself, having more of an adept knowledge of social cues than I do now, I came back once every month or so. There was never a particular day, but sometimes I just wanted that oh-so-amazing feeling of adrenaline coursing through my pre-pubescent body at the thrill of being outside without permission. Grandpa, as I would later begin calling him, would always greet me with a smile, usher me inside, warn me that I shouldn't disobey my parents like that, then make us some tea and send me on my way.

This day, the day I met All for One, I had found a shortcut through an alleyway which happened to be the place All for One was visiting. I was always told to be warry of strangers, "stranger danger!" and all that, but on this night, he seemed so... inviting. In a sinister way, of course.

"Why is such a young child wandering in the night alone?" He asked, raising the spot where an eyebrow used to be questioningly, face mauled and full of tubes. He seemed like such a frail old man, face all mushed to hell like that, yet he had a strong and dominating presence.

There was another man behind him, covered in hands and hair a messy bright-blue shag. I find him glaring through the fingers at me but keep my main attention on the messed-up stranger, "I'm going to see my grandpa, sir." I said as innocently as possible, the air growing thicker with each passing moment. I felt like Little Red Riding Hood in her encounter with Big Bad Wolf, frozen stiff yet ready to run at the same time, "What are you two doing?"

"Going for a walk." All for One smiled, teeth glinting albeit there being no significant light, "Don't be shy, Tomura, say hello."

"I don't like her." He stated simply, "Can't I get rid of things I don't like?" He started scratching his neck, cracked skin breaking into open wounds as he scratches, skin catching under his nails.

"I say we let her be." All for One stated, "Little girl, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

"I dunno." I shrugged, trying to be as casual as possible, "I don't really want to be a hero, they have the same morals as villains 'to make a better world' and all that, they just have different ideas of what makes them good or bad." I look the man in the eyes, or where they used to be, now just dents in his face, "I don't really get the whole hero, villain thing so maybe I'll be a doctor or an inventor."
