𝐏𝐎𝐕: SiennaI watched as Cole stormed back inside, wanting to follow him to prevent him from doing anything stupid but my body didn't allow me to move. I was hot and sweaty and felt violently sick, yet I was still shivering out of shock and fear. I felt Noni's arms hold me closer and I made a mental note to thank him once everything was over.
I had a weird feeling about the man at the start of the night and chose to ignore it, wanting to have fun. From what Noni was saying, I assumed the man had spiked my drink although u wasn't completely sure. It would explain the feeling of sickness and dizziness.
I heard some shouting and I heard Cole's voice over everyone else's, then the bartenders voice, screaming for everyone to get out. I watched as the man stumbled out of the bar, clutching his whole body in pain. I then watched Cole walk out after, completely fine. I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't know I was holding and let Cole scoop me up, bridal style and take me to Reece's car.
I felt myself sway in and out of consciousness and tried to keep my eyes open. I felt myself being put into a car and i assumed it was Cole i was leaning on, judging by the smell of his aftershave. I heard muffled voices and then darkness came upon me.
------------------
I woke up in a bright room, the sound of beeping monitors and people coughing woke me up. I assumed I fell asleep as I woke up in a bed. I looked to my side and saw Cole, sleeping on a chair by my side. Was i in a hospital?
I looked around and saw myself hooked up to all sorts of machines as if they were doing testing on me. I tried to move to sit up but a wave of dizziness overcame my body and I laid back down in defeat.
My movement must have woken Cole up because when I looked to my left, he was sat up in his chair, looking at me, concern and worry laced in his expression. He gave me a soft smile and took my hand.
"How are you feeling"
"A little dizzy, what happened"
Cole's face turned from concern to sympathy as he explained that I blacked out in the car on the way to the hospital and that I had been unconscious until a few moments ago.
Before I could ask him anything else, a nurse came bustling into the room, checking the monitors and asking me all sorts of questions. I squinted, my eyes still adjusting to the light and watched the nurse unplug me from the machines.
"We would like to keep an eye on you for the morning, Miss James. If all goes well, you may be discharged shortly"
Both me and Cole sighed in relief as the nurse briskly left the room. I could sense a slight tension in the air and I knew Cole could too.
"How bad did you beat him up" I muttered. My voice still weak
He looked at me in disbelief that I had asked.
"Not awfully, may have winded him, broken a few ribs, maybe his nose and jaw"
"Not awfully?" I replied sarcastically, although part of me wad thankful I had Cole to protect me. Who knows what would have happened if he wasn't there.
The door opened again and Reece and Noni walked in. Noni immediately engulfed me in a hug upon seeing me. My body, still sore, reacted poorly and I yelped out in pain.
Noni backed off with an apologetic look on his face and I laughed at his eagerness. Reece also hugged me, but more cautious and with less eagerness. I appreciated his care and hugged him back.
"Mum and dad are worried sick, they think we're all a bad influence" Reece laughed
"Yeah well, they think everyone's a bad influence they do"
Reece nodded in agreement and we both laughed again
---------------
Cole carried me out of the hospital, bridal style, despite my attempts to walk on my own. He insisted over and over again that he should carry me. I reluctantly agreed and let him carry me out to Reece's car. He kept an arm wrapped round me while we drove him and I leaned into him, letting him support my body weight.
The car ride felt like an eternity as I waved in and out of a sleepy daze and Cole picked me up again, and carried me into his apartment. Reece and Cole agreed it would be better for me to stay there since Reece had stuff to do and couldn't stay with me to make sure I was okay.
I didn't complain as all my belongings were at Cole's as I had basically moved in. Cole laid me in the bed and closed the curtains for extra darkness, he kissed my forehead and walked out so I could get some proper sleep. I let my eyelids close and I breathed a sigh of relief, having the familiar smell of Cole's bed fill my lungs.
My head still pounded and I still had the urge to be sick. The urge become stronger and I leapt out of bed, running to the bathroom to throw up. The nurse said that there would be side effects to the spiked drink but there was nothing to be concerned about.
I heard Cole walk in behind me. He tied my hair back with a hairband he kept on his wrist and he rubbed my back. I mentally thanked him for helping me and caring for me.
I brushed my teeth and decided I would rather be in Cole's company than be alone. He insisted I go to bed to sleep but I stayed stubborn and laid on the sofa with him and drifted to sleep in his arms, watching a movie.
