"Mom! Where's my helmet?"
"Ma, I can't find my shoes!"
Tony opened the front door and stepped inside his house to find his family in a frantic frenzy, running around like the world was about to end.
"Your helmet is sitting on the counter!" Layla yelled into the other room. When she noticed her husband had returned, she let out a sigh of relief. "Did you get the candy?"
"Yup." Tony said as he shifted his grasp on the large bag of assorted candy bars.
"Glad we got one thing done." She said. "Now I could really use some help."
"Of course, what do you need me to do?" He asked.
"Tyler still needs to put on his costume and he can't find his shoes." She told him.
Tony nodded before turning to his daughter as she ran into the room. "Hey, sweetie, could you put the candy for the trick or treaters in a bowl for me." He asked.
Camille smiled as she nodded. "On it!" She took the bag of candy from him, heaving it over her shoulder, and ran into the other room.
"Now where the little cowboy?" Tony asked. Layla shook her head, pointing towards their son's bedroom as the sound of crying could be heard coming out of it.
Tony gave Layla a smile, telling her he'd handle it. Walking into his son's bedroom, he found the four year old sitting on the floor, sniffling with shiny little tears in his eyes.
"Hey, cowboy. What's wrong?" Tony asked as he crouched down next to him.
"No. I'm not a cowboy." Tyler said with a pout.
"What happened? I thought that was what you were dressing up as."
"I can't find my boots." He said.
"You can still be a cowboy without them. Let's get your costume on." Tony tried to help his son up but he wouldn't budge.
"My hat's lost too." Tyler said, "I can't be a cowboy anymore."
"It's gotta be around here somewhere." Tony said as he wiped away his son's tears. "C'mon, I'll help you look."
His son perked up and nodded as he stopped sniffling. Together they searched the room until they finally found the hat under a pile of laundry that was thrown onto his bed.
"Hey, y'all ready to go?" Layla asked as she poked her head into the room. She frowned when she saw her son's lack of costume. "He's not even dressed yet?"
"We're working on that." Tony told her.
"Hey, mom! Where's my bag?" Camille yelled through the house.
Layla let out an exhausted sigh before going to help her daughter.
"Now come on, cowboy. Let's get you dressed." Tony said. His son smiled as he excitedly grabbed his costume.
Once Tony had finished helping his son get ready, the two of them stepped into the living room where Layla was waiting along with a little racer car driver who was brimming with excitement as she impatiently waited to leave.
"We all ready?" Layla asked. Tony nodded.
"Wait! My boots!" Tyler said.
"They're by the door." Layla told him. His smile widened as he ran to go grab them.
Now finally having a quiet moment, Layla turned to Tony. "Nice costume." She joked as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
His arms snaked around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "Thanks. I'm dressed as your handsome husband." He said.
"Guess we had the same idea. I'm dressing as your wife." Layla said.
"My smoking hot wife." Tony said before kissing her.
The sound of fake barfing noises made them pull apart. "Eww! Gross!" Camille said as she covered her eyes. "Can we go now!"
Layla chuckled. "Yes, we can go now."
"I'll race you to the front door!" Tony said. The young girl smiled as she sped off, Tony chasing after her.
The family spent the rest of the night walking around their neighborhood as the kids' collected more and more candy. By the end of the night when it was time to head home, both of their bags were full.
"Can I have just one more piece?" Camille pleaded as they made their way back into their house.
"Yeah, one more!" Tyler agreed.
"Sorry but it's already past your bedtime." Layla said.
"Awww!" Both the kids groaned sadly.
"But whoever gets in bed first gets to have whichever candy bar they choose for breakfast!" Tony announced. The children screamed with joy as they ran away to go get ready for bed.
"Tony!" Layla nudged him.
"What? They're only kids once." He said. She just smiled as she shook her head.
"I'm in bed first!" Camille yelled from her bedroom.
"No, I am!" Tyler argued.
"You're dealing with that." Layla said. Tony sighed but agreed.
It took him nearly a half an hour to settle the children down and get them to go to sleep. When he made his way back into the living room, he found Layla snuggled under a blanket on the couch.
"Finally, some peace and quiet." Tony said as he sat down, cuddling up next to her under the blanket.
"Now it's just you and me." She said before giving him a kiss.
"Happy Halloween." Tony said when they parted.
She smiled. "Happy Halloween."(A/N I have another Toretto family one shot planned after this, I just thought this one was appropriate for today. Stay safe and have a happy Halloween!)
