Tun (Retreat)
Content in your power,
you have no need to engage the obstacle.
Everyone has heard the saying 'He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day.' It is the essence of what we know as 'Retreat'. But this retreat comes from a place of failure, failure to conquer the enemy, overcome the obstacle or achieve the goal.
Today's message is not about a retreat from a place of failure it is about something much more profound and more difficult to master.
Today we are talking about leaving the battle before it is even begun. Tun speaks about understanding that you are in control and have no need to prove yourself through conflict. It is time to walk away, take a step back and rethink your approach.
In every encounter we bring emotion and energy, we give 'charge' to the situation. That charge can be positive or negative. When the charge is negative as in a situation that 'pushes our buttons', Tun tells us that we should see this as a transformative opportunity.
The situation that you are facing at this moment is not one on which you can enforce your will, because it is teaching you something. It is time to step back and reflect on the lesson. When we engage bringing charged emotions into the encounter we simply are throwing more fuel on the fire which can quickly burn out of control. When we engage, we give the situation or the obstacle more power, it is in the driver's seat, having provoked us into reacting.
The same can be said about giving attention to our negative and destructive thoughts. When we dwell on our negative thinking, we give it credibility and power because of the emotional charge we give these thoughts.
It is time to take a step back, to disengage, to retreat, not in failure but in wisdom recognizing that walking away is an opportunity to find a different path that might actually lead to greater success.
The Changing Lines
Line 4
Retreat will not feel good to your Ego. The Ego thinks it must always win, it should never be beaten and retreating is the opposite of winning to your Ego. But retreating voluntarily is not about helping the Ego but helping your Spirit. Giving you an opportunity to grow and reinvigorate your spiritual core. This line can speak of unhealthy relationships. You should never stay in an unhealthy relationship because the other party wants you to stay. It is time to retreat, to walk away for the benefit of your spirit at the cost of your ego.
Line 6
Retreat without guilt or doubt. Sometimes we have to walk away from situations and people so that other may recognize our value. The old saying 'You never miss the water till the well runs dry' definitely applies here. Take the opportunity to walk away from people and situations that take you for granted and begin to live your life in abundant freedom. Stop giving away your energy to those who do not appreciate it and focus on growing your own worth.
Thank you for reading today and I hope that the message today resonated with you. I think it was an appropriate message for us to hear today. because lately here on Wattpad there are so many conflicts which are giving our power to. Maybe it is time that we all learn the power of a well timed retreat.
