— The house
The rest of the drive wasn't as lively as when he had first come as if it was some sort of introduction to the characters.
But that didn't bother him.
In fact he'd much rather be able to skip this introduction of the characters.
The car soon pulled up to an old but ominous house that seemed from most horror films you often see with your friends.
A typical haunted house where all—if not most of the characters get killed.
But at the entrance of the door an elder women stood shrouded in gloominess that no one else seemed to notice.
Besides him.
Ji Hui didn't ask who it was as in most movies you'd find out soon in any case.
And it seemed Ji Hui was correct once again.
Even though Ji Hui was nine and had heart problems—well before the apocalypse happened his mother would often let him watch horror movies.
It was his favorite genre.
Not to mention he liked them even though they would make him scared and his heart race.
It was his favorite pass-time—making fun of the stupid characters.
The women at the entrance introduced herself as the family came up to her where she had been waiting.
She was the previous and current housekeeper.
"Hello, my name is a Maria. I was the previous homeowners housekeeper and now I will work for you." The elder women said but not much else.
It almost seemed as if she was sizing them up—which was weird.
Was she some sort of monster sent by the house?
The family didn't seem to notice unlike Ji Hui.
"You must be the Maria the previous owner mentioned! It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Lillian." The mother sais with a gentle smile.
She didn't seem to care about Maria's uninterested glance—or she didn't notice as she continued to speak.
"These are my kids, Adam, Avery, and the youngest Liam." She introduced them to Maria with a pliote smile.
All three of the children stood as only two of them greeted the elder housekeeper—it being Adam and Liam.
Because Avery wasn't exzactly a pleasure to be around at this moment.
Avery ignored her mother's words as did Adam whom only wanted to go inside the house to choose his bedroom.
Adam just sent her a curt nod and that was all he did.
Only Ji Hui greeted her politely as he had guessed his character was the type that was shy but listen to his mother above anyone.
And it seems to he was correct.
"Be polite!" Their mother scolded the two other children whom ignored her as they just went inside the house.
"Sorry about them. The far ride was quite tiring today."
Ji Hui didn't want to be involved in the conversation between the mother and the housekeeper while the father stood aside like a tool man.
He needed to find out whats wrong with house.
But first—and foremost he needed find a way to summon pancake.
As the shadow beast dissappeared as soon as he came too.
The interior of the house was similar to the old-times ascetic making the home seem even more gloomy than before.
It was truly a haunted house.
Ji Hui glanced around the house not bothering to look for his 'siblings' as he somehow found himself in the basement.
The basement was old and dusty but Ji Hui found it the best place to summon Pancake—or at least try too.
In horror movies the basement is somewhere you'd want to avoid but for Ji Hui it was the best spot to do something in secret.
Worse case scenario he'd just have to fight ghost or burn the house down.
Ji hui made sure that no one was around before he activated his Authority.
[ Authority 'Ruler of Shadow's' has been activated. ]
[ Ghost dire wolf—pancake has been summoned. ]
[ Twin serpants have been summoned. ]
[ Warning—Special dungeon has been activated. ]
[ Authorities have been temporarily sealed. ]
....
Ji Hui hadn't paid attention to windows after he summoned pancake and the twin serpants that he had wanted.
As soon as pancake noticed him the giant shadow beast ran beside him as he circled him in worry.
The twin serpants seemed a bit confused at the unfamiliar environment but recognized Ji Hui's aura as their master.
Ji Hui reached for the two dark serpants that he had summoned along with pancake.
It's simple.
He'd used these serpants to scope out the house so he wouldn't seem suspicious to his 'family'..
He glanced at the serpants before giving them a command to go around the area and record anything suspicious.
The twin serpants nodded as they rubbed against his cheek before disappearing in the shadows leaving behind a jealous pancake.
Pancake nudged his hand so he'd get attention as well which Ji Hui gave him before whispering in his ear.
"Hide in my shadow." He wouldn't be able to explain Pancakes appearance as the previous homeowners was allergic to dogs.
So this was the best choice.
Tomorrow will be the reason start of the dungeon.
