— The first night
The day passed as night came in almost no time and at this moment Ji Hui had been woken up by the continuous banging of his ceiling.
And whispered that seemed to follow.
He had planned to begin exploring the old house in a later time but it seemed this damned house wouldn't wait for him.
Since pancake had not warned him it seemed it wasn't dangerous.
In most horror movies creepy things shouldn't be happening until at most a week had passed since the new owners moved in.
Well in the movies he had scene.
bang.
bang.
bang.
bang.
But he couldn't be in thought much longer as he had an haunted house to explore.
Ji Hui was a bit glad he wasn't in a horror movie as a normal person or he'd be the first person to die in this moment.
It was always the curious ones that died first.
In any case he should find clue since it seems he wouldn't be able to sleep.
Ji Hui wasn't tense nor nervous as he stepped off the bed. The noise was coming from the ceiling and above his room was the addict.
Meaning if someome were to do this it'd have to be from the attic.
But as Ji Hui stepped out of his room it felt as if invisible eyes were following his each move no matter what he did.
This was a house that truly came alive at night.
Ji Hui passed the halls of portraits of previous house owners and their families that his 'mother' had yet to get rid of.
The hall's were gloomy as one would expect but Ji Hui kept navigating through as if he couldn't notice the portraits eyes that followed him.
It gave him the creeps.
Ji Hui kept moving with the lit lamp in his hand that he had found at someplace as he soon reached the attic.
His destination.
The stairs that led to attic smelt of rotten flesh and dust it was eerie as one would expect but Ji Hui was a child that was going through a current apocalypse.
This much was nothing.
Even though his authorities and skills has been sealed he was still stringer than ten average men not mention faster.
The attic wasn't special besides the obvious dust and things wrapped in a thin white cloth that were old.
But as expected no one was in here.
Ji hui wasn't disappointed since he expected this but instead starting unwrapping the boxes and old things hoping to find clues as soon as possible.
Half an hour in he found nothing besides old portraits and furniture.
Ji Hui glanced around trying to spot something that seemed odd among these things.
That would be an obvious clue.
A old box stood out almost immediately—this was the thing he was looking for.
Ji Hui didn't hesitate too pull it out of the very end of the attic toward the clear center as he propped it open.
Inside the old box was a piece of paper and an old silver pocket watch that seemed broken.
'...?'
He didn't know what he was expecting but it sure wasn't this.
The pocket watched seemed an old version but it was in spotless condition as the outlines had an inexplicable beast ingraved on it.
It was a strange watch.
Ji hui stared at the pocket watch for a bit hoping for it to do something but of course nothing happened so he glanced away.
He placed back in the box as he grabbed the price of paper putting it near the lamp so he could see what was written on it.
The writing was a but disorited but he could make it out.
[ This house is alive. ]
[ I can hear it breath each night. No matter where I go I can feel it's eyes following me. ]
[ I can't escape it. ]
[ Am I going insane? no no no this house is alive I know it is. It killed my family—my sweet daughters and gentle wife. ]
[ Their dead. ]
[ And I'm next. ]
[ I can hear it every night. ]
[ It whispers and cries out for food each night. ]
[ I am the only one left but I can feel it creeping up on me. I am going to die very soon. ]
[ If you are reading this go to the study on the second floor. Inskde the study there will be shelves of books on the shelf you will find— ]
Ji Hui couldn't make out the next words as if they had been erased by something supernatural—it was strange.
tick.
The sound of a clock moving snapped him from his thoughts process but as he gained around he noticed there was no clock around.
so that meant...
Ji Hui reached for the pocket watched inside the box as he looked at it he could see the broken watch moving.
It was an eerie feeling.
Also at the same time he could hear and feel a breath behind him and his insticts warned him to run.
tick.
tick.
tick.
The clock ticking only fuled his instict of danger as the breath came closer and closer with heavy footsteps.
Ji Hui wasted no time as he placed the pocket watch in his pocket as he bolted from the attic without forgetting the paper in his hands.
Almost at the same time he could hear heavy footsteps chasing behind him.
But he was fast enough to escape.
The attict slammed close with a bang as he bolted downstairs slipping the paper inside his pocket as well.
As he came down the stairs he felt the heaviness of the room dissappear.
Ji Hui felt his heart rate calm down as he rubbed his forehead giving one last glance at the door and then went the direction back into his room.
He planned to sort his thoughts as he walked but of course this house wouldn't let him rest.
As he turned the corner the housekeeper appeared in a night gown with a lamp in her hand as of this was the mid-evil ages.
It just made her even more creepy.
"What are you doing awake?" Maria said with a seldom tome as she stared at him as if she would kill him if he something suspicious.
Of course Ji Hui was your average kid.
"I got lost looking for the kitchen so I was trying to find my room again." He lied shamelessly as he seen dokja do before.
He'd learned from the best.
The housekeeper stared at him for a couple moment longer hoping to catch him in a lie but eventually let him go.
Not forgetting to give him directions.
He had survived the first night.
—
I'm no good at horror scenes so don't expect much.
The next chapter will be where Kim Dokja is at as Ji Hui is dealing with ghost.
