— the second night part 5

The attic changed from the previous time—the boxes that had all been organized looked ransacked and most were opened—but it wasn't from him.

There was also a figure in the middle.

"hello?"

Of course Adam was the first one to talk.

Avery lost her previous attitude—she seemed as if she'd sprint at the first sign of trouble—Ji Hui also was ready to flee.

he didn't care if he left them behind.

The figure in the attic froze but didn't glance back at them but their actions seemed stiff. Adam gripped the bat a bit firmer but Avery behind him had a frown.

"who are you? this our house, what are you doing here?" Avery said still tense.

She didn't get a reaction so she resorted to threatening the person—of course ready to run at any given moment.

"If you don't leave we'll call the police." she said as she hid behind adam—ready to sprint at any moment.

The figure moved toward them and soon came in the faint light from the hallway—it was the nanny/housekeeper.

But her deminor was completely different from before.

Her eyes were dim—not to mention it seemed as if she wasn't conscious but Adam didn't seem to notice it.

Idiot.

"Maria?" Adam said with a bit of confusion as he placed his bat down.

"What are you doing here, little masters? Don't you know roaming at night is off-limits." Maria said as her heavy steps started coming for them.

Ji Hui and Avery both relized something was wrong with this housekeeper—Adam still hadn't realized yet.

"Ah, we were just exploring—" Adam was cut off by the out-of-body voice from the housekeeper.

"That's no good. The !$%@$@ will have to punish you." The house didn't want to be revealed as it blurred its name.

Ji Hui knew what was coming next and so did Avery.

Avery tugged on Adam's shirt. "Let's go. we need to go now!"

Ji Hui was a bit suprised by her but couldn't help but wonder why she had died first—did she happen to fall while escaping before?

"Do no run from your punishment." With that the nanny came at them with hostile intentions—Ji Hui was the first to take off running.

Avery was a half-step slower than him but didn't waste time as neither did Adam. Though Adam slammed the baseball bat down on her head in an attempt to slow her.

But ultimately he ran as well.

The house felt smaller than normal as the three of them ran for their lives—Ji Hui didn't understand how their parents hadn't heard them knock down things.

Nor did they hear their screams but it must be the dungeons logic.

The three of them paused at the steps but could hear Maria's heavy steps still behind them—so at that moment Avery and Adam kept going forward.

Ji Hui left down the stairs—separating himself from the group but ad he glanced back one last time Avery had slipped and fallen.

Avery must've been the one that falls at critical moments.

His guess had been correct because as soon as she fell Maria's hand reached out— But he didn't pause nor go back to help her and kept running.

He wasn't a Saint.

Plus he felt he would die had he gone back and helped—and the consequences would dire.

Ji Hui ran for what seemed eternity—and by the time he stopped he had ventured to the other side of the house.

Ji Hui felt his chest rise and fall as he tried to keep his breathing quiet so he could hear if the nanny had gone after him—luckily she had chosen the other two.

Ji Hui was out of breath despite his stamina having being leveled up since his mental panic consumed it mote than his pysical actions.

He stood for a moment catching his breath—by the time he noticed he was in the part of the house that hadn't been touched much he had walked a bit longer.

So he might as well explore.

He still had to find out the cause of this houses haunting—and perhaps he could find where this key goes.

He didn't want to search the rooms one by one so he brought the snakes back as it would be much easier.

The snakes appeared as they did before climbing up his arm—he didn't have the luxury of granting them affection since he had a feeling he has awakened the house.

So he needed to finish as soon as possible.

The little snakes transferred their memories and soon Ji Hui found a keyhole that matched the key in his pocket.

It wasn't far from his position—only two doors down.

The snakes didn't leave this time but hid in his clothes—and he didn't bother to let them go. He stood in front of the door and then used the key to open it.

He should've mentally prepared.

This room definitely held the secrets of this house.

...

The moment Ji Hui dissappeared in the secret dungeon—his sponsor 'Emperor of the abyss' lost his mind in his realm.

He tried to use the star system to see what was happening but the dungeon refused its presence—and no matter what it could penitrate it.

So all he could do what was wait.

But how long must he wait?

His patience thinned by the minuted—and soon he'd explode.

Originally I was going to make this five nights but I felt that it would be too long so it will be finished withing five chapters.

Sorry for the long arc—I hope you enjoy.
