"Oye, weh yah duh?" I kissed my teeth and rolled my eyes as I walked past him into the room. "A u mi a talk to enuh."

"Please don't talk to me Nasir."

"I told you that I'd move the boxes."

"Five hours ago."

"My bad but you're pregnant so you shouldn't be lifting anything heavy."

"If yuh did move dem, mi wouldn't affi a lift dem up."

"Dat nuh mean seh yuh fi lift dem up." He kissed his teeth and took the box from me placing it next to the others. The box wasn't even heavy because I knew better than to lift anything heavy but I also knew that he wouldn't move them before he was ready to.

"I'm pregnant, not handicapped."

"Look weh yuh gone now. Mi neva seh nthn bout nuh handicap enuh."

"Do you even love me?"

"Mi aguh move di box dem now."

"No, I will move them myself."

"Just relax an gwaan guh siddung." He walked behind me, grabbed my shoulders and steered me in the direction of the rocking chair. "Sit down."

"No." I was in the process of decorating the baby's room because I wanted to get it done before I decorated anywhere else in the house.

"Yuh too stubborn. Sit down Iyana."

"Fine. Stop talking to me like that."

"Yuh know wah, nevermind." He helped me down on the chair and kissed my forehead making me smile. "Yuh want anything?"

"Can I borrow your phone?"

"Wahm to your phone?"

"It dead an mi couldn't bother fi charge it. Mi wah call Z but mi also wah scroll pan tiktok."

"Suh it mek sense yuh ave phone?"

"So I'm guessing that's a no. Cool."

"Mi neva seh no." He took the phone out of his pocket and handed it to me but I didn't take it. "Just tek di phone an nuh badda wid it."

"It's fine sir." He grabbed my hand, placed the phone into my palm and closed my fingers around it.

"If yuh drop mi phone, mi aguh bite yuh pan each a yuh finger dem five times each." He let go of my hand and he visibly relaxed when I leaned back and unlocked the phone. "Yuh so fucking spoiled."

"I wonder whose fault that is."

"Worst mistake mi eva mek. U an yuh big head pickney aguh mad mi but a me wrong still."

"Suh glad mi record it suh yuh cyaan deny it now."

"Watch if mi aguh lend yuh mi phone again."

"Talk yah talk man." He kissed his teeth and shook his head before he walked out of the room.
