I rolled over in the bed and my eyes shot open when I didn't feel her next to me. I sat up and my sleepy eyes scanned the room but saw no signs of her. I checked the time on the clock and saw that it was some minutes after nine in the morning and I stretched with a yawn before pushing the covers back and getting out of the bed.
I walked to the bathroom and pushed the door open thinking that she was in there but upon entering I realized that she wasn't in there but I wasn't panicking because she was probably just with Zahra or my sisters.
I walked back into the room to grab my phone before walking back into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I dialed Amyra's number and put it on speaker before I propped it up on the counter. I put toothpaste on my brush and wet it before rinsing my mouth out and started to brush my teeth. "Weh yah beg germs?"
"No likkle mawnin, nthn deaf ears."
"A Zahra an Iyana save yuh more while enuh." She kissed her teeth and I chuckled. "Weh yuh want?"
"Yuh si mi wife to be?"
"Yuh fava poppy show bout wife to be. Di gyal should a seh no mek yuh drop dung dead."
"Yuh badmind enuh dawg, mi know yuh hate mi but yuh can mask it likkle but sometimes enuh g."
"Yuh just annoying but no mi nuh si Iyana, call Mila or Zahra."
"Alright." I ended the call and dialed Zahra's number immediately after that before putting it on speaker.
"Hello father."
"Anuh wake mi wake yuh up?"
"No, I'm having breakfast with auntie Mila and Krissy."
"Have you seen your mom?"
"No, not since last night. Why?"
"Just nuh si her." I finished up with brushing my teeth and washed my face. "Alright, I'm sure she's around here somewhere."
"Yuh want mi call her?"
"No. Enjoy your breakfast, later."
"Okay." I picked my phone up and walked back into the room. I wasn't going to panic because I was sure she was around here somewhere. I went to her contact and tried calling her but it rang out and I tried it again twice but it rang out again.
I dug around in my suitcase that was on the floor to find some shorts and a shirt. I quickly put my clothes on, any thoughts of showering now gone because I was worried sick about where she could be.
I walked to the door and opened it before walking out seeing Rudane on the opposite side of the door. "Yuh si Iyana dis mawnin?"
"Mi si her inna di night, just likkle bit after unnu forward in."
"Wah?"
"Yeah, she seh unnu did a argue an she a guh dung a Jamila guh sleep." We were on good terms and as far as I knew, I hadn't done anything to upset her so why was she lying?
