She walked into the room and upon seeing me, she turned right back around and left.
Maybe I was wrong for giving her the silent treatment but she had me worried out of my mind because Josh was still at large and if he didn't know then, he definitely knew now that I was the one that ruined his plans.
If he couldn't get to me then Iyana was his next target because well, she had been his target first before I stepped into the picture.
I wasn't trying to stop her from going out and enjoying herself because she didn't really go out all that much except for when we would do date nights or when we did things with Zahra so I wanted her to have all her fun. She could do whatever she wanted within reason because I would make a safe space for her but I wasn't willing to bet her life or safety on how good of a security team I had so I preferred her in my sight at all times.
Several knocks came at the door followed by Zahra's voice. "Are you ready dad?" I walked to the door and opened it seeing her standing there in her pretty dress, she looked beautiful and I could safely say that my genes did their thing.
"I'm ready but mi nuh sure if Iyana ready."
"She's downstairs waiting."
"Suh a me one a late bud?" She did not look anywhere close to being ready when she came into the room a few minutes ago, not even her makeup looked done.
"Precisely."
"Alright gimme a minute, soon forward."
"Okay." She pointed to her watch with raised eyebrows and I chuckled while shaking my head. She headed downstairs and I went back into the room to get my shoes, my phone and my wallet.
Her class and teachers had put together this dinner party where all the kids and their parents were getting together for the evening and as happy as I was to just offer my donation and stay home, once my princess wanted or needed me to show up then I was there with no questions asked.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°We were sitting down at our table that we were sharing with two other families and we were making conversation. Things had been going well and all the other parents seemed nice enough.
