7AM.

I used my keys to open the door and walked in. Sweatiness was all over my body including my forehead. Just an ordinary morning at the gym.

Maya finished showering while I was gone. I drank my water bottle and waved to Jin who was on his laptop on the couch. He returned the gesture. I walked upstairs and went to my room to shower. I also washed my hands and sprayed my shoes with Lysol. Harvey thinks I'm a little germaphobic but nope...not really. I'm real excited for him to fly back from Bakersfield. He'll be home around 1 or 2pm. I sprayed my doorknob before heading to Avery's room. I shook her twice. "Babygirl, wake up. Wake up. Time to get up." I whispered in her ear. She stirred for a few seconds. "No, I wanna sleep mommy. I don't wanna get up." She whined tiredly. I placed my hand on my hip. "If you don't go, you can say goodbye to making chocolate chip cookies and going to Walmart." I sassed firmly. "Sorry, Mommy!" She said, rolling out of bed and rushing to the bathroom. I covered my mouth from incoming chuckles. I planned to shop at Walmart next week so Avery can find swimwear for her friend's birthday. That pink flamingo floater would have to wait. But we're still making cookies today.

"I'm shocked, A. You're an expert on baking." Jin complimented impressively. The plate of seven chocolate chip cookies delightfully filled the kitchen aroma. Avery smiled sweetly. "Thanks! I learnt from the best." She said. That made me grin amusedly. "Who?" He immediately asked. "Mommy!" She told him. I smiled giddily and pointed to myself. "Exactly! I make sweets like it's nothing! From cupcakes to cakes! Sweets are my super food!" I bragged. Jin laughed. "Super food? That's not food." He corrected. I chuckled. "You know what I mean. It's a Parker thing, we love sweets." I said. Avery nodded in agreement. "It's true! Auntie Maria had five desserts for her birthday." She added. "But it doesn't mean we like to get cavities." I joked. He snickered. "No but always take care of your teeth." He said. She almost touched a cookie until I grabbed her hand. "Nope." I said, popping the P. Jin crossed his arms. "No cookies until after dinner Chef Princess." He playfully scolded. Avery frowned. "It's just one cookie Jinnie!" She whined. "There's no eating dessert before dinner. You once had a stomach ache after eating two donuts. Now what have you learned after that?" I spoke firmly. She pouted. "Dinner first, dessert later." She muttered. I cleared my throat. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I sassed. "Dinner first, dessert later." She spoke in a clear voice. Jin hummed in agreement. She frowned. "I'm sorry mommy." She apologized softly. I kissed her cheek. "It's ok sweet. How's Maya by the way?" I asked. Jin sighed happily. "Pretty good. She showered and changed her bedsheets. She didn't throw up, the stomach pains seemed to be slowing down, her voice is becoming less hoarse, no coughing. Just taken her probiotics after breakfast. I believe she's recovering quite well." He explained. Avery cheered happily. "Yay! Auntie Maya's getting better!" She cheered. I playfully screamed with laughter and cheered. "Finally!" I beamed. "But she's still a bit contagious so keep washing hands, Lysol spray things and eat vitamins." He finished. She nodded in understanding. I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Are you an associate or a love doctor?" I whispered while laughing. Jin madly blushed. Avery stared at the cookies distractedly. But dinner is another thing. What could we make? I went to the food cabinets to see if there's anything. "How about I make dinner for us?" He asked. I almost felt the urge to laugh. Maya mention a million times he's awesome at cooking. "Jin, you don't have to. You already done a lot." I said kindly. He playfully scoffed. "It's no problem! I always make dinner for my six siblings all the time. Only when our parents are busy. I so so love cooking! Please, let me make our famous dinner from home. It's really delicious! So good! Even with delicious Korean steak!—I cut him off. "Jin, Jin, Jin. Relax! You can make our dish tonight." I said calmly. "Yay!" Avery beamed, smiling. He cheered with fists pumped in the air. I chuckled but felt a twinge of memory. Harvey and I cooked together which resulted in a few powder stains on us. I bite my lip from grinning.

4PM.

I knocked almost excitedly twice. Waiting patiently was now driving me nuts. I couldn't stop grinning whatsoever. My man was finally home and away from the hands of a cheating—I mentally paused to take my thoughts off her. After what felt like an eternity, the door began opening. I smiled happily. Harvey returned the gesture. I happily jumped into his arms. He wrapped them around and shut the door. "I missed you babe!" I squealed. He smiled, kissing my hair. "Missed you too darling." He said. We parted, kissing passionately. I cupped his cheek as he lifted me up. My legs wrapped around his waist. Gosh I missed those tender lips. "I almost thought of surprising you at your house." He whispered. I parted from him. "Donna didn't tell you? Maya caught the stomach flu. And I had to stay and help out without catching it." I asked weirdly. "What? Is she ok? What do you mean catching it? Is it contagious?" He asked worriedly. His worry tone always makes me melt. I nodded and caressed his lips. "Yes, she's getting better. It's still a bit contagious so she needs to stay quarantined in her room. Don't worry, I'm keeping myself and Avery clean and healthy." I explained carefully. Harvey breathed a breath of relief before he put me down. "So, how was Bakersfield?" I mentioned. He suddenly looked pale. "O-ok. The case has been stressing me out." He lied. I inhaled a deep breath. "What happened?" Is all I asked. He fiddled with his fingers nervously. My brain clicked. Scottie. The sudden surge of anger officially boiled inside me. "What did she do?" I growled through gritted teeth. He intertwined my hands with his and sighed. "Nothing, nothing happened. She tried coming onto me but I didn't let her. That's all. That's why I took a separate plane home." He assured in a serious tone. I cupped his face and nodded. "No questions. Just happy you're back." I whispered. Harvey wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my lips. I kissed back while wrapping my arms around his neck. My heart skipped twice a beat. We parted, arms still wrapped. He smirked amusedly and led me to the kitchen. My jaw dropped. Oh my—aww! This is too sweet! A double-chocolate frappe with s'more ingredients. All this and my period already left. Harvey shrugged and smiled. "You said you'd like chocolate mixed in things. It reminded me when we cooked together." He said. I raised both eyebrows. "You want me to make them cause you don't know how to?" I guessed knowingly. "Pretty much." He quickly said. I chuckled. This feels like a chocolate chip day.
