"Izzy! Cmon!" I shouted. "K!" She shouted back. I chuckled and grabbed my bag. Maya came in while smirking. "Got everything?" She asked, referring to the list. I returned the gesture. "Especially some sweets Avery wants." I joked. She chuckled. "Don't get too much. Any plans this weekend?" She asked. My brain clicked, remembering me and Harvey's date tomorrow. I knew I should've came up with something to tell her. "Heading out to visit an old friend." I lied. "Like whom?" She asked. I scoffed and crossed my arms. "One we went to Harvard with. Duh!" I told her. Suddenly, her face immediately went pale. Ghostly pale. I looked at her weirdly. "Are you ok?" I asked. Maya smiled tightly. "Yes, I'm fine." She lied. "Then what happened to all the blood in your face? I mention Harvard and your face turn into a ghost." I asked confusedly. She frowned. "I'm sorry. I've been a little stressed lately." She told me. That's the point of the weekend. Take all the breather you need. Seeing how spacey she been, she really needs it. I nodded in understanding. "Aren't we all? This is more work than simply writing notes in class. But hard work never scares us. What's important is our mentality. Take a break if you need too. Relax your mind. Going grocery shopping could help as well. Promise me to work on yourself then just work." I advised. Maya smiled warmly. "As long as you do. Donna tells me you've been pampering yourself. Special occasion?" She teased. I madly blushed and chuckled. "Funny. I never pampered myself for anything than letting people do it for me. Hairstylists, makeup artists, clothes designers for screen events or I even just doing it without feeling any good. Someone told me I deserve to feel beautiful in anything I wear." I said. She hugged me. I hugged back. "First time you didn't back away from my hug." She joked. I smiled amusedly. "I'm a woman of many parts." I quoted. Maya instantly parted from me. "What?" She asked, laughing. "Words from The Dowager Countess." I giggled. She raised an eyebrow. "Too much Downton Abbey." She half-joked. I laughed as Isabella approached the doorway. "I'm ready. By the time, Avery's downstairs trying to make soup." She spoke. "Shit!" I panicked before we ran out to hopefully put out any fires.

Isabella POV
At the grocery store, Liz and I put everything that's on the list in the cart. Some of the sweets Avery suggested were there. I sighed happily. "Ok! Is that all?" I asked. She couldn't hear me because frozen pizza pockets caught her attention. I mentally snickered. Unfortunately, some shouting caught mine as well. Mainly awful in fact.

"You disgusting piece of shit!"

"Grab these or go hungry!"

"You're such a little loser!"

I turned to see two people across from myself and Liz. A black-haired lady in her mid-30s with whom must be a girl who looked thirteen. She held a frozen pack of green peas while tears filled her eyes. Poor thing. Who would feed a kid green peas? The lady growled. "You dumbass! Put these in a cart!" She growled meanly. The girl sniffled, letting tears fall. "But I want salmon. I don't want peas." She cried. A few people were taking notice of them. Some looked at the woman disgustedly which I don't blame. She grabbed her arm harshly, making her cry more. "Shut up! Quit crying. Do it now or I'll do it for you." She threatened. My eyes widened in shock. Did she seriously just threaten her? The girl accidentally dropped the peas on the floor. All it did was anger the woman more. "You little bitch, I am—

In a swift moment, I walked up to them and growled. "Leave her alone!" I blurted. The woman pretended she was instantly disturbed. "Oh! Uh, Miss I'm sorry, this little girl dropped these. Pick them up." She said, whispering in her ear. The girl barely moved since she almost thought she was going to harm her. I scoffed. "Yeah, that's what you've been yelling and cursing at her for. What is wrong with you? I never seen anyone treat a kid much like you treat her! You're a complete awful person! And to think you were going to do more if she hadn't picked up those peas, by the way is gross and not for a kid!" I growled. Her jaw dropped speechlessly. The little girl nonetheless shedded tears. The lady scoffed roughly. "You're going to let this orphan take whatever she wants? She's such a freaking loser!" She spoke rudely. One familiar voice which gave me chills but smile joined the conversation. "Call her another name and I'll give you more than nasty peas." Liz threatened coldly. The lady's attention turned to her presence behind me. She walked in front of me bravely. "People here aren't only ones hearing your mouth like an ear-bleeding siren. The worse part was not having to kick your ass for saying all these hurtful things to this beautiful kid. An adult, picking on a child, only shows what a real loser is. So I'mma make it easy for you cause my patience is very low, stay your privileged ass away from this girl and you won't come up missing." She growled quietly. The quietness of her voice was much frightening than her loud one. The lady flinched once Liz lifted an arm but to check her watch. She fake smiled. "What? I'm checking my watch, little bitch." She muttered. I fought an urge not to laugh. The lady gulped fearfully and walked away. Our eyes diverted to the little girl who watched the whole time. Liz smiled. "Are you ok sweetie?" She asked kindly. She nodded, wiping a fallen tear. I looked at her in awe. "What's your name cutie?" I asked, padding her shoulder. "Hope." She answered shyly. "That's a beautiful name. Really." Liz complimented. I nodded in agreement while picking up the frozen peas. "Why are you all alone? Where's your mother?" She asked. Hope frowned. "In the car. She sent me to grab a bag of peas." She told us. Liz raised both eyebrows in shock. "Just peas? Why?" She asked. "Because she doesn't want me eating anything else. I wanted salmon but she said no." She said. Tears instantly spilled on her cheeks. My brain clicked. I remembered saving money from my chores at home. Liz kneeled down and brushed a strand behind her ear. "You should eat anything other than peas. It's not healthy to eat only one meal. Do you like cookies or cupcakes?" She said, tickling her belly. Hope smiled tearfully while giggling. "Cookies." She said. Liz smirked before handing her a chocolate chip cookie bag. "Let's go, I'll pay sweetie." She told her. I followed behind carrying the frozen salmon.

Elizabeth POV
After wrapping up groceries, Isabella paid for the frozen salmon. Aww! Our bags were in the cart as we handed Hope her goodies. She even got her an apple juice. The happiest smile grew on her face. "Thank you, thank you." She spoke sweetly when we rolled the cart outside. "You're welcome." We replied in unison. Hope looked at us confusedly. "Wait, what's your names?" She asked. I smiled. "I'm Elizabeth and this is my cousin Isabella." I introduced. She playfully winked. "You can call me Izzy." She added. A sudden car honk startled us. An old gray Cadillac was parked across my car. Hope sighed sadly. "That's my mom. I have to go." She said. I nodded in agreement. "But we'll walk you there." I offered. Isabella held her hand protectively while I pushed the cart through the street. She led Hope to her Mom's car before carefully crossing back. We opened the trunk and put all the bags inside. "How is she?" I mentioned. Isabella shrugged. "Fine. Yet her mom didn't look pleased to see me." She told me. I mentally rolled my eyes. "At least she didn't hit my car here." I half-joked. She laughed. "She wouldn't if she's missing." She chuckled and placed the cart with others. The Cadillac driven off as Hope's window was shown. She waved. I smiled, waving before getting in my car. Isabella let out a breath. "Tomorrow's my last day. I leave in the morning." She reminded me. A private jet owned by Aunt Daniella will fly her home tomorrow. She won't be alone cause security will be there. "Yeah, need help packing?" I asked. She nodded her head no. "Liz, you and Maya must be so happy here. Things weren't perfect back in California, I know it. You're much better where you are now. I'm glad I came here." She said kindly. I smiled warmly. "Thanks Izzy. You're the only relative besides grandma who's mature." I joked. Isabella's jaw dropped, hitting my shoulder. I laughed. She chuckled. "Mature? You were playing in the kid sports area." She said. I pretended I couldn't hear her. Isabella smiled innocently. My mind reflected on what happened with this little girl Hope. I hate people who think they're superior, especially to children. It does nothing but make them feel small. Not to mention she has a rude-unapproachable mother. I pray this girl will be alright.
