"Give me the cha-Ching!" I cheered, putting my hand out. Maya rolled her eyes. "Hush up. It was bound to happen anyway." She said before giving me twenty dollars. I smiled satisfyingly. "Yes. Donna said they could handle the liquor but we all put an all-nighter." I said. She smirked and danced. "It's not about the money, money, money. We don't need your money, money, money. Wanna make the world dance, forget about the price tag." She playfully sung. I laughed. "Why bring Jessie J into this?" I joked. She shrugged. "Doesn't mean she's not right." She said. I shoved the money in my pocket. "Anyways, how hungover are they?" I asked. Maya motioned to them on the couch. They were sipping cups of tea with their hairs tied up in a bun or ponytail. Donna playfully rolled her eyes. "Not too hungover to be deaf." She spoke. I bite my lip amusedly. Maya smiled contentedly, sipping her tea. I'm guessing she heard the Jessie J reference too. I covered my mouth from a low chuckle. She motioned me to quiet before clearing her throat. "Sure you both don't want any coffee? With cream, sugar or black? Or hazelnut?" She asked, stretching out the letters. Rachel immediately groaned while clutching her stomach. We snickered quietly. I shushed her with my finger and inhaled a deep breath. "Perhaps some cinnamon flavor? I'd like mine with that pumpkin pie coffee cream. Loads of sugar. Whip cream and sprinkles of cinnamon." I suggested. They clutched their stomachs and scrunched their noses disgustedly. Maya smirked. "I'd make my coffee with a sprinkle of hazelnut flavor. Cream. Sugar. Perhaps one with a cookie flavor." She added. Rachel covered her mouth and wrapped her legs together. Donna scrunched her face disgustedly. We kept snickering but I couldn't keep it down. I broke out laughing. Ok, I'm having too much fun! They turned to us and growled. We put our hands up in surrender while snickering. "Whoops!" We spoke in unison. Rachel smiled slightly. "Stop that! You know we're feeling crappy." She said. Maya chuckled and looked at her in fake awe. "We were just joking. Enjoy your teas." She said. I grabbed a cup out of the cupboard to have water. "What else can we do for happy hour Sunday?" I asked. She shrugged. "Well, Sunday's more of a sleep in. We could probably go out for breakfast or go to the spa—I cut her off. "Wait! Breakfast and spa? Hell yeah!" I cheered, playfully dancing. Donna watched me rather curiously. "Hell yeah what?" She asked in an interested tone. I smiled excitedly. "We're going out for breakfast and the spa!" I told her. Maya returned the gesture. "Better for a happy hour Sunday. You in?" She asked. Rachel was already putting her shoes on. "What are you waiting for? I want a facial!" She spoke excitedly. Donna snickered. "Same. And my nails and feet done." She agreed. I nodded in agreement. Maya eyed me up and down. "Liz, you know you have to..." She trailed off. I fake gasped. "Change? Oh my goodness! Whoa!" I joked, running off with my hands flapping. They laughed including her. Wrapping my hair in two buns, I changed and got dressed into this:I sprayed my perfume and carried my phone, wallet and AUX cord in my purse. The sunny weather brought a wonderful breeze and warmth from what I'm told. My eyes diverted to my home screen. A picture of Avery at Bryana's house when we visited in the summer. My cheeks burned, knowing she must be having fun at Harvey's. But I mentally hoped he isn't spoiling her too much. I grabbed my purse and walked downstairs. Maya was already dressed before. We decided to take her car. She started the engine after plugging the AUX cord. Rachel smirked. "Someone has a playlist?" She teased. Maya snorted. "Try five or four." She joked. I fake chuckled and smiled. "I only play one for this baby." I said. Donna playfully oohed. "Let's hear." She spoke. Man! I Feel Like a Woman! by Shania Twain begun playing. Their eyes widened in shock. We laughed. "I love this song!" Rachel beamed. The reason I knew the song was watching Crossroads where the girls sang it in the car. I even listened with Avery. We playfully sang and danced as I driven off.
No one's POV
Being at the Justice store would've been the very last place Harvey would go to. Again, it was for Elizabeth's daughter, whom he often known since she was an infant. One he formed an 'unexplainable' bond with. Donna could always make jokes that this little six year old has him wrapped around her little finger. Who could blame him? Avery is very sweet, smart and quite mature for someone her age. She barely gets into any trouble whether at the firm or school. Yet the years of diaper incidents, knocking his basketballs off the stand, chasing her when she refuse to sleep weren't forgotten. Standing, holding a Build-A-Bear and a Little Mermaid doll, Harvey immediately sighed as Avery grabbed two outfits and happily skipped back to him. He looked at her in disbelief. "I thought I told you one outfit?" He asked. She pouted with goo goo eyes. "Please H! I really love both of them!" She begged. He scoffed, holding up the toys. "That's what you said about these." He said. She shrugged. "The feeling is just mutual." She spoke sheepishly. He raised both eyebrows. "How do you know the word mutual?" He asked. Avery smiled confidently. "One hundred percent on a spelling test." She told him. Harvey nodded. "How about this? If I give you a word, you have to spell it correctly. If you do, I'll buy the clothes. If you don't, I'm not buying them. Deal?" He suggested, smirking. She returned the gesture. "Deal!" She said. "Alright. The word is lawyer." He simply told her. She bit her lip while giggling. "L, A, W, Y, E, R." She quickly said. Harvey grinned impressively. "Can you spell my name?" He asked. "Yeah, mommy often says it. H, A, R, V, E, Y. You!" She squealed. His jaw dropped in shock. Avery smiled happily. "I win! Cmon." She said, dragging him to the cashier. He hid an amused smile with his cheeks burned. Elizabeth often says his name? She often talks about him? But her name impossibly lingers his mind whatsoever.******
I hugged Rachel. "Bye! See ya tomorrow." I spoke softly. She hugged back. Donna smirked. "Oh we understand. You have someone to pick up from someone's house." She teased. Maya returned the gesture while side-hugging her. "That's for damn sure." She agreed. Once they parted, I hugged Donna. "Hey, he's the best babysitter." I joked. She scoffed. "Your words, not mine." She said. I smiled innocently before they got in the taxi. They waved. We returned the gesture. The car left our driveway and we walked back inside. Maya let out a huge breath. "Whoo! What a morning!" She said. My attention diverted to my nails and toes. "All worth it. Look at these cuties!" I said, putting up my polished fingers. She instantly gasped. "Oh! And that restaurant we went to. Mmm! So good! I love the food!" She said happily. I smiled delightfully. "Yeah, we need to go next time. That chocolate-Oreo milkshake is freaking delicious! A shame I couldn't take it home." I said. She laughed. "You couldn't because you were full. That milkshake was the end of it." She chuckled. I crossed my arms and looked at her weirdly. "Yet we can handle those healthy smoothies." I added. Maya fake smiled. "See what healthy foods do for you?" She asked sarcastically. I scoffed. "Don't talk to me like I'm Avery. I still eat omelettes." I sassed. "And fruits." She sing-songed before going upstairs. My phone buzzed. I pulled it out and madly blushed.
