(Up top is Brianna Parker)
Unknowingly, Harvey walked beside me and smirked. I couldn't help but giggle. "Hi." I spoke. He nodded, looking at Mike. The conversation switched back to case matters. "You know what? I got bigger fish to fry. Put the wheels in motion." He said. Mike looked at him weirdly. "Put the wheels in motion? This isn't a merger Harvey. You're talking about emancipation." He said. "I'm talking about filing for emancipation. It's a tactic. He cares about his son. Nine times out of ten, he backs down." Harvey continued. I rolled my eyes. "And what if he doesn't?" I asked. "Then we'll be doing exactly what the client wants us to do." He answered as we entered his office. I looked at him in disbelief. "Is your tie squeezing your throat? That's more than emancipation." I said. "Like breaking up his family." Mike agreed. "I mean help his family." Harvey corrected, picking up files. He fake chuckled. "Wonder what kind of relationship you had with your father." He mentioned. Yeah, makes me curious. His mother was a groupie I know that. He turned and looked at him in the eye. "Look, my father's not up for discussion. The only bone of contention between them is this decision. The sooner they resolve it, the sooner they can move on." He spoke in a serious tone. My eyes widened. "Wow, my family issues never resolved like that." I said sarcastically. Mike nodded. "And the sooner you get paid." He mocked. He scoffed. "I cut billion dollar deals for breakfast. I don't need this. I told you, it's what the client wants." He said, going behind his desk. I crossed my arms and fake chuckled. "How human of you." I spoke sarcastically. Harvey looked at me for a moment until clearing his throat. Mike walked up to him. "Harvey, I was eleven when my dad died and our last conversation was a fight. If you gave me the choice to be a pro anything or to make up with him, what do you think I'd choose?" He said. "If we don't do it, he'll find someone else who will. If you don't want him to do it, change his goddamn mind. Now go." He told him. Mike sighed and mumbled 'fine' before leaving. I almost walked until "Wait, Elizabeth." Harvey called. Donna made eye contact but I refused and turned around. "What?" I asked annoyedly. He looked at me worriedly. "Are you ok? First you finally giggled at me and now you're throwing a fit." He said. I nodded in disagreement. "There's one reason. One is it is so impressive how you can express nothing about a case between a family. Even after you told me about your parents." I said, fake smirking. He scoffed. "That's different, I didn't sue for emancipation nor have I played tennis." He said. I playfully rolled my eyes. "It doesn't matter what case. It's about family. My parents knew that and kept me and my siblings a priority. Why? Because they seen how this breaks up families. Sorry if it's too sensitive for you but it's called being human." I snapped. His eyes widened. Oh god. What did I just say? I cleared my throat and sighed. "Harvey—I—I stopped when he walked past to close the door. Adrenaline rushed insanely over me. "What's wrong?" He immediately asked. I looked down and fiddled with my hands. "It's nothing. I'm fine." I muttered. His finger lightly touched mine. "Elizabeth, tell me." He spoke in a serious tone. My hands felt almost clammy and inhaling a deep nervous breath. "Harvey—H—there's nothing. I'm feeling a little down today." I partially lied. Harvey looked at me in shock. "You told me you were feeling better. Why'd you lie?" He asked in a hurt tone. I sighed sadly. "I'm sorry Harvey. I don't wanna mix my personal life with work today. I don't know how you do it but I'm new." I spoke softly. He huffed. "Don't think what happened with my parents doesn't hurt me. Since we're on the same team, you need to be honest with me. Anything that's bothering you or upsetting you, you come to me." He spoke in a serious tone. I rubbed my forehead and sighed. "Sorry I snapped. But consider this anyway. Nothing's more important than family." I said, touching his thumb lightly. Harvey smiled warmly which brought butterflies in my belly. "I'll consider that." He whispered. I returned the gesture and closed the door behind me.
Meanwhile, I discussed the case over the phone with Mike and went over a pile of another paperwork. "Surprise." Louis entered, knocking with a small smile. Most of the paperwork's for him actually. A distraction I needed from this fraud case. "Louis. How are you?" I asked. He smiled nicely. "Very good, thank you. I see you have all the paperwork. Thanks for your efforts." He said before grabbing them off my desk. "No problem. Give my regards to Bruno." I said, referring to his cat. He turned around. "You know about Bruno?" He asked in a surprised tone. I smiled tightly. "No offense but I'm no cat person. Harold mentioned him a lot in the associates room. I'm guessing that's why he got red blemishes." I said. Louis looked at me in disbelief and dropped the files on the desk. "Are you kidding? Cats are amazing creatures. And it's not my fault he didn't use face cream." He said. I slightly cringed at the mental image. "Well there's a 10-20% percent of people who are allergic to them." I sassed. He shrugged. "This isn't the Allergy-D company." He spoke rudely. I playfully rolled my eyes. "Louis, at least ask someone with no cat allergy to watch him. Perhaps Maya." I told him. Louis scoffed. "Why not you?" He asked. I nodded my head no. "I got pet experience but not with cats. I'm a dog person." I said, smiling innocently. "Cat hater!" He grumbled and stormed out. I flipped open my laptop. Someone asking for a Skype chat. Our third sister Brianna. She is actually twenty three which makes her the second eldest but she look as if she's the youngest. That's why some people ask if we're her older sisters. I pressed the accept button and her face appeared on the screen. She smiled cheerily. "Hey babygirl!" She beamed. I laughed. "Hey, Bri! Oooo you look good!" I complimented. She chuckled. "Thank you hon. Gosh, I love this suit you're wearing! Looking boss up there huh?" She said. I pretended to button my suit while biting my lip sexily. Brianna laughed. "Aye! Aye! Aye!" She said, waving her arms up. I kept laughing and calmed down. "How's New York? Seen any sights? Met new people at Jessica's firm?" She asked. The only time Bryana ever met Jessica was when she was little. I quickly nodded and explained everything. Well, sorta. She breathed a breath of relief. "I'm happy you ended things with William. This long triangle is over." She said. I scoffed, huffing. "Should've been over in the first place." I spoke. Brianna smiled sadly. "Are you ok? I'd hate you're still working even though you're heartbroken." She asked. I smirked. "A breakup is everyday life. Angela is better off with him and I'm not going to go through this longer." I said. She shrugged. "At least you can apologize for whooping her ass." She said, before snickering. I nodded my head no and scoffed. "Nah uh. She tried to steal someone's man...and she called me a floor-kissing bitch. I'm like, let's go Rapunzel." I said, showing my fist. The whole time she chuckled. "After that I'm sure she'll never call you a name." She joked. I nodded in agreement. I then noticed Maya at the door. "It's Brianna!" I whispered/yelled. Her eyes widened with a huge smile as she came and saw her. "Hey Bri!" She beamed. She waved. "Hey M! How are you?" She asked. Maya chuckled. "Same." She told her. Brianna cleared her throat. "How's Jin?" She asked, smirking. She looked at me and growled. I smiled sheepishly. "I was about to grab lunch with Liz." She continued. Brianna nodded. "I have to go anyway. Need to get back to work too. Miss you both, hopefully I'll meet Donna and Rachel soon. Bye!" She said, blowing kisses. We returned the gesture before she exited the chat. Maya stared at me like an owl. "You can't be telling her everything." She said through gritted teeth. I laughed and got up. "Like what? I only mentioned you're friends with a hot associate you seem to blush at." I partially lied. She fake smiled. "This is what comes from working with you." She muttered. "Heard that!" I said, smirking as we left the office.
