Reading Jessica's deposition transcript only added to my disliking of Hardman. All the more reason for ending this leeching attack. The first order of business was getting an ex-employee in for a deposition. Monica Eton. I came in the conference room where Jessica was checking the mic. I cleared my throat. "A little busy at the moment." She said, looking up. She didn't look quite cheerful today. Who could blame her? I inhaled a deep breath while holding my file folder. Harvey wasn't cheerful about me joining the deposition but I'm doing this for him, Jessica and the firm. "Because of Monica Eton, I know. Harvey didn't want Mike's help or mine but I thought that maybe you would." I spoke. She finished checking the camera and mic. "Harvey is right. I need you on top of Folsom Foods." She told me. Ok, Liz. Go along with it. It's your plan, explain the instructions. "This is about Folsom Foods." I said. She stood confidently with her hand on her hip as I walked up to her. "What do you have?" She asked. "If you can get Monica to admit that her affair was with Daniel, then this isn't about gender anymore." I explained. Jessica slowly nodded. "Because they were both dismissed. A man and a woman." She added. I nodded in agreement. "Puts you back in the driver's seat on Folsom Foods." I finished. Now I'm a little confused. How was I nervous to explain the plan instead of acting on it? Probably because my worse unreal scenarios always cloud my brain. "Ok. Do you have a line of questioning?" She asked. "Right here." I said, handing her the document. She began reading through it when a familiar voice entered the room. "You ready?" Harvey asked. I managed to brush off the redness on my cheeks. Jessica handed me back the document. "She is. I want you to let her take the lead on this." She said, walking past him. "What?" He asked in shock. "Not a discussion." She said in a serious tone. We made eye contact. I nodded assuringly. Harvey cannot keep me out as if Hardman's gonna crack me into pieces. "Where you going?" He asked. Jessica turned around. "Oh, I'm not spending another moment in the same room with those people." She said, referring to Monica and Hardman talking outside. I scoffed disgustedly. Two whores have reunited. Welp, their little reunion's about to go wrong pretty soon.

The deposition + my plan was falling into place. I sat between Harvey and Mike. Gosh, it just feels like I'm taking charge now though Jessica already pointed out. Hardman sat across with Monica. "Miss Eton—He cut me off. "Them? You're bringing in the B team?" He asked, referring to myself and Mike. I fake chuckled. "As you pointed out, the B team actually drafted this suit in the first place and ran your short-stack out." I sassed. "Right into Jersey." He added. Hardman fake smiled. "Well, if he doesn't do well, he can always approach my client outside of her place of employment again." He said sarcastically. Harvey side-eyed him. Mike looked down uncomfortably. "Hmm? I guess he must've learned from you not to always tell dad what he's up to." He joked. I rolled my eyes. "You might've learned that. Keeping dirty secrets which resulted into rightful termination." I said, eyeing Monica. She shifted uncomfortably. Hardman side-glared at me. Harvey nodded in agreement. "And you want to know what he learned from me? Not to let some two-time loser get in his head." He defended. I couldn't help but smirk admirably. Mike smiled a little. But my mind returned to the plan. "Miss Eton, there's been a lot of talk about the affair you had while at Pearson Hardman. I have just question. Who was that affair with?" I asked. "I never said I had an affair." She spoke. "But your lawyer said you did." I said, pointing my pen at Hardman. "Your people said it was irrevelant." He quickly said. I nodded in disagreement. "I didn't, and it's not, and I have a lot of questions about it." I told him. "Which we won't be answering." Hardman refused. It felt almost humorous seeing he won't let the topic be about their affair which got them fired. "You'll have to in court." Mike spoke. "We're not in court." He said. "No, but you are on the record. But since you don't wanna answer the question, let me ask you another question. If you didn't have an affair, then what reason could there possibly be for you to get fired?" I continued. "Because I was being harassed and I made it clear I didn't like it." She answered. I looked at her weirdly. "Harassed? By who?" Mike asked in a surprised tone. "Don't answer that." Harvey told him. Hardman smiled. "Oh no, my client is going to answer the question that your associate asked, and we're gonna get some things on the record right here." He said. "No, we're not." Harvey said, almost getting up. "I was being harassed by Louis Litt." Monica admitted. We looked at her in shock. "What?" I blurted. "Go on, Monica." Hardman told her. "He asked out repeatedly after I rebuffed him again and again. He would stare at me, wait at the elevator outside my office, the diner, everywhere." She continued. "Anything else?" He asked. "Yes. He was partner and I had to say 'no' to him. And it made me feel disgusting every single day." She finished. This doesn't sit right. No way Louis could do something like that. He's obviously putting lies in her mouth. "Will people corroborate your account?" He asked. "It was common knowledge within the firm. Any number of people knew, including him." She lied. "Let the record show that my client indicated Harvey Specter." Hardman told the typewriter. I gritted my teeth while thinking of many curse words to say towards them. Harvey, nonetheless glared silently. "Monica, I have one more question for you. To whom did Jessica tell you to hand in your resignation?" He asked. "Louis Litt." She answered. "So in conclusion, you were being sexually harassed, it was well-known, Jessica Pearson dismissed you, and you were actually told to hand in your resignation to the very man who did the harassing." He said. "Yes. That statement is entirely true." She agreed. I raised both eyebrows. Calm your beast, Liz. Don't let her roar. "Is it? Or it's just a made up lie he told you to say? Because he didn't want the affair brought up. Real smart, not really. This is over." I said, motioning the typewriter to stop before getting up.

7PM.

Feeling like slapping Hardman was just an understatement. Feeling like crap because the whole thing blew up in my face was different. Whilst wrapping my bag around my shoulder, Avery put her book in her backpack. She rubbed her eyes tiredly. Maya walked in with her bag. "Ok, let's go. You ready?" She asked. Avery smiled and nodded before grabbing my hand. "Ready Mommy?" She asked. I snapped out of my thoughts and fake smiled. "Yes babygirl." I partially lied. Maya smiled while approaching me. "Avery, why don't you go see Harvey before we go?" She asked. "Ok!" She beamed, running out. I looked at her weirdly. She smirked knowingly. "I knew. Known from the second you told me you both were going on a 'friendly' date. I was concerned, only because of mixing business with pleasure things, but I see you keeping things professional here and romantic out there. You've never done that before. I'm happy for you. Just be mindful and careful managing both things. Especially with Avery." She admitted. The whole time I stared in shock, relief, and happy. I smiled happily and hugged her. She hugged back. "I have to work on my secret skills." I muttered. Maya laughed. "Ha! Yeah, you do." She agreed. We parted. "But I'll still apologize to Jessica and Harvey. I'll feel twice as better." I said shyly. She nodded in understanding. "Good. Somehow I feel like slapping Hardman's smug face." She joked but in a serious tone. We chuckled.

In my room, I scrolled through every book on my audiobook list to find something. My phone buzzed with a notification text.

H🤗🩵: You did a good job.❤️

I madly blushed and texted back.
