Weeks passed, and Sai’s presence became a constant in my life. He was everywhere at the agency, at photoshoots, even at events. No matter where I went, he was there, smiling, chatting, acting like we were the best of friends.
I ignored him as much as I could. I didn’t have time for someone like him. My life was carefully controlled, every detail meticulously planned. I couldn’t afford distractions, especially ones that irritated me as much as Sai did.
But he didn’t seem to notice my coldness. If anything, it only made him try harder. He’d follow me around after shoots, ask me questions about my career, my life, as if we were close.
Once, after a particularly long day, he even had the nerve to suggest we grab dinner together. "Come on, Kazuki," he said with that ever present smile. "It’ll be fun. We’ve been working hard all day. We deserve a break."
I didn’t even bother responding. I simply walked away, leaving him standing there with that same smile on his face. But behind that smile, I could sense something something hidden. I didn’t trust it.
