It came back. The urge. The need.
I had been keeping it at bay, locking it away in the back of my mind while I visited Sai, pretending to be someone normal. But that was all it ever was pretend. A mask I wore to fit in, to blend in. But the darkness inside me never went away.
I felt it creeping back, stronger than ever. The restlessness, the hunger to kill, to feel the power that came with taking someone’s life. I couldn’t ignore it any longer.
It wasn’t about Sai, though. I had no intention of harming him. No, this was different. This was about me about feeding the part of myself that I had been starving for too long.
