"So this is it, then? Rome?" Evangeline smiled, tucking a lock of light blonde hair behind her ear before turning to Vlad, who was helping her out of the carriage.

Before them was a huge manor- one they would be spending their six month long honeymoon in.

"Oh, you've seen nothing yet," Vlad responded, taking her hand as she stepped onto the ground.

"Later today we can go exploring," he continued "Then you'll really see the country."

"In the meantime, I believe you should take a nap. It's been nearly 48 hours since we last slept," the vampire advised.

He was right, after all. Their wedding had been the day prior, and had ended with a send off late into the evening, the beginning of their journey to Rome.

The two had spent the entire carriage ride in each others arms, talking about any and everything. Neither were in any mood to sleep.

And now, finally, it appeared that exhaustion was hitting them.

One of them, at least.

Vlad, after all, didn't require sleep- he was a vampire, after all.

As for his new wife, however?

She was absolutely exhausted.

"Now that you mention it," she sighed "I should probably get some sleep. I feel like I haven't closed my eyes in ages."

He chuckled quietly, placing a gentle hand on the crook of her back as he began guiding her up the winding pathway that led to the front gates of the manor.

The two soon found themselves in the master bedroom, at which point Evangeline, still wearing her wedding dress and heels, threw herself onto the sheets without bothering to change.

Vlad smiled at the sight, taking a few steps closer, his hands in his pocket.

"Comfortable?"

"As one can be," she confirmed.

"Perhaps you'd be moreso if you bothered to change into a nightgown."

Her eyes widened as though she only just realized she was still fully dressed.

"They're still in my bags," she murmured nervously.

Vlad flicked his hand, mumbling something in Latin under his breath, and before she could say anything else, one of her nightgowns materialized in his grasp.

"Nothing like a little magic to save the day, hm?"

She smiled ear to ear as he tossed over the piece of fabric.

"Now I'll step out of the room in order to give you some privacy. Let me know when you're finished changing. I'd like to come join you."

She gave him a swift nod.

"Of course, dear."

With that, he was gone, leaving her to quickly change. Once she was all set, she opened the door again, beckoning for him to enter.

He obeyed, stepping back into the room and wrapping his hands around her waist, hoisting her up and tossing her onto the bed.

He was now on top of her, pinning her down with his body weight.

The door, several feet behind them, remained slightly ajar- a fact Vlad realized at the sound of it creaking in the wind.

Without even bothering to look away from his new wife, he muttered another spell under his breath, letting the door slam, leaving them all alone.

And thus, their honeymooon began.
