Vlad spent the next two hours in his study, curled up in a corner and mulling over the situation at hand.
She wasn't leaving any time soon, that was for sure. He needed to keep her around until he trusted that she wouldn't try and leave.
Perhaps he could try to frame this all as a way to keep her safe? That he feared for her all alone in her cottage, that she could get attacked again, and so really this was all in her best interest.
Perfect.
He had that settled, he decided, and needed to move onto the next subject-
Theo.
His blood ran cold with anger at the name alone. This boy wasn't going to survive the night.
It was all he could do to prevent himself from going out and gutting the man immediately- but he needed to stay with Evangeline.
He'd deal with that tonight, he decided. When she was asleep, and thus wouldn't make any attempts at escaping. He'd be able to take his eye off of her and leave the castle.
And then there was the matter of her living situation. He had several empty rooms in the castle- it was massive, after all, and even he couldn't figure out a use for each room.
Any one of them however, could be Evangeline's. He'd have it furnished like the French did, to remind her of home, and he'd stock up the closet with beautiful gowns, all in the latest fashions, of course.
He wanted to make it look just like home. She'd be comfortable, living in the lap of luxury.
And he already had an idea of which room he'd choose- it was huge, with a balcony large enough to fit a table and several chairs, overlooking the mountains.
He smiled to himself at the thought, envisioning the room to the tiniest detail. It was then that he got to work.
It took him little over an hour, magic playing a helping hand in minimizing the amount of time it took to get everything set up. He wanted to have her settled in as soon as possible.
Once he was finished, he stood back, admiring the room.
He had set up a white shelf filled to the brim with books in the corner, a chair set up next to it with a small table, in case she wanted to read, which he recalled her being fond of.
To the side, was a massive walk in closet, about the size of the room itself, which contained nearly five hundred shoes alone, and an ungodly amount of dresses.
Next to the bed was her vanity, set upon it several articles of jewelry, more in the drawers, along with some makeup.
The bed itself was king sized, giving her more than enough room to spread out, perfume sprayed onto the sheets so that she'd fall asleep to the scent of roses.
It was perfect- she was going to love it.
