Bard woke up but this time he was alone in a large bedroom. He and Thranduil had slept in different parts of Mirkwood as per the elf marriage policy. But in a few hours he and Thranduil were suppose to get married. Bard was nervous for the whole thing, it was a big wedding with dwarwes, elves and man kind. And on top of that Bard would become the king consort as Thranduil was the king.
Bard yawned, got out of his bed and walked over to the mirror in his room. There was clothes neatly placed next to it. He picked the shirt up. It was made out of the finest silk in all of Mirkwood and you could see all of the subtle details embroidered in it. It was truly a piece of art.
Bard put the shirt down and turned his eyes to the jewellery. There was the royal leaf Thranduil had given him, a few rings that were all made of gold. One had a small white diamond on it with beautiful details embroidered in it, was made recently in Mirkwood for him. The two others were given to him by the dwarwes, when he first became a king and secondly when he gave the crown to Bain. The first one was wide with three blue diamonds sunk in it, the second one had one big red sapphire in it, the band was thin making the gemstone look even bigger.
They were all beautiful and Bard took good care of them but the earpiece Thranduil had made from his crown was not among them. The piece had gone to the blacksmiths hands and he was given the order to make it in to headpiece Bard could wear as a sign of his status. That way he would always have a piece of Thranduil with him.
Bard smiled to himself, he was a lucky man after all. He had three beautiful children and now he was going to marry the ,the elf he loved. He was truly happy and surprised about the fact that he is going to marry an elf, a male elf. But that didn't sound weird to him at all it was natural for him to call Thranduil his lover.
Bards thinking was interrupted when someone knocked on the door. He turned towards it. "Come in."
Bard saw the heads of his three children peeking from the crack of the door.
Bard smiled. "Yes, what is it?"
"Can we come in?" Tilda asked.
"Come here." Bard opened his arms wide and all of his children ran to him giving him a big hug. "When did you two arrive here?" Bard asked looking at Sigrid and Bain.
"About an hour ago." Bain said.
"We first went to find Legolas and he took us to Tildas room. Then we were all brought here by our request." Sigrid told.
"Yes, we wanted to help you dad, so that you can be handsome today!" Tilda grinned.
Bard burst out laughing. "Oh you three, one is a king, one is a lady with a baby on the way and third one is a student learning spells. How can you have time for me?"
"Father, we will always have time for you. You have raised us alone for years now. When you need us we will be here for you." Bain said, Sigrid and Tilda nodded agreeing.
Bard had tears in his eyes. "Then let us get started, we have so much to do."
All three of his children nodded smiling getting started on their work.

The elf trumpets started playing and everyone got up from their seats turning to look at Bard who was seen dressed in his white suit looking straight at Thranduil who looked right back at him with a smile on his face.
There were elves, dwarwes, humans and animals from all around middle earth witnessing this union become true. Everyone had smiles on their faces.
Thranduil himself was dressed in his white attire looking like a true king. He had his white crown on top of his head making everything look completed. Thranduil looked so graceful and so thought everyone else. But in Thranduils mind Bard was the most beautiful creature in middle earth. He was glad to be able to call this human his lover, spouse and most importantly a companion. After losing his wife he had been lonely for a long time, but now he was not lonely anymore with Bard at his side.
Bard walked towards Thranduil with a smile on his face. Thranduil looked straight in to Bards eyes with the same kind of smile. It made Bard feel warm and less nervous.
After Bard walked to Thranduil he stopped and turned towards him so that they were facing each other.
As in elf customs the king was the one to wed elves but as this was his own wedding Legolas had decided to step in and wed his friend and his father.
Legolas started speaking. "Do you Thranduil king of the woodland realm promise to respect and care for Lord Bard, until you no longer walk on this land. And take his advice wisely when he gives it to you."
"I do."
Legolas nodded in agreement and continued. "Do you Lord Bard promise to respect and care for Thranduil king of the woodland realm until you no longer walk on this land. And give him advice whenever he needs it."
"I do."
Legolas nodded and started for the final time"With the power given to me by my father king Thranduil, I Legolas prince of the woodland realm give you Lord Bard the tittle of king consort of as king Thranduils spouse and second ruler of Mirkwood and woodland realm."
Thranduil took Bards new crown from the stool it was placed on. Bard bowed down a bit to show his respect and Thranduil placed the crown on his head. Bards eyes met Thranduils yet again and they kissed showing everyone present this union was now made complete.
The trumpets started again and everyone stood up to show their respects. Bard and Thranduil broke their kiss turning to walk down the path as a married couple.

It was time for the celebration. Elves were dancing to the elven music looking as beautiful as they possibly could. Bard and Thranduil were sitting at a round table with Legolas, Bain, Sigrid and her husband and Tilda.
"Well father seems like you did not escape ruling after all." Bain said jokingly with a smile.
"Well if we are being perfectly clear I won't rule. That still remains as Thranduils duty." Bard said shrugging his shoulders.
"Yes, I may still be the king but now I am glad I have some to do this with me after so long. Neither of us has to be alone, I think that makes the difference." Thranduil said wisely.
"Yes, you are right your Majesty." Bain nodded sipping his wine made for man kind.
"Oh and I wish for your Majesty and I to have a discussion about our trade soon?" Thranduil said said sipping his own wine.
"No talking about anykind of trade today." He reminded both of them.
"Yes your Majesty. " Bard replied.
Bard smiled to himself. Everything was fine now, he was where he belonged and he was happy.
Then Legolas stood up and raised his glass. "Let us raise our glasses together for the newly wed couple!"
Everyone raised their glasses saying their congrats in loud voice.
Bard and Thranduil looked at each other with smiles and kissed.
