Isagi Yoichi woke to the soft rays of the morning sun filtering through the curtains, casting a warm, golden light over the room. The world outside was slowly coming to life, but inside, everything felt calm and serene. A comforting weight pressed against his side, reminding him of the events of the night before.

Rin was still nestled close to him, his head resting on Isagi's chest, his breath warm against Isagi's skin. The steady rise and fall of Rin's breathing was soothing, and Isagi couldn't help but smile as he looked down at his husband, who was still lost in sleep. The tranquility of the moment felt like a precious gift, especially after the chaotic day Isagi had endured.

For a while, Isagi stayed perfectly still, not wanting to disturb Rin. He traced the line of Rin's spine with his fingertips, reveling in the warmth of his skin beneath the sheets. "Morning," Rin mumbled, his voice husky and low, still laced with the remnants of sleep.

"Morning," Isagi replied, his voice equally soft. He leaned down to press a gentle kiss to Rin's forehead, feeling Rin's arms tighten around him in response. "Did you sleep well?"

Rin nodded, nuzzling closer to Isagi, his face buried in the crook of his neck. "Yeah... You?"

"Best sleep I've had in a while," Isagi admitted, his hand sliding down to rest on Rin's back, holding him close. "Waking up with you like this... it's perfect."

Rin's response was a contented hum, his body relaxing even more against Isagi's. They stayed like that for a while, simply enjoying the quiet intimacy of the moment. There was no need for words; their closeness said everything that needed to be said.

Eventually, Rin pulled back just enough to look up at Isagi, his expression soft and vulnerable in a way that he only ever allowed around Isagi. "I'm glad you're here," Rin said quietly, his fingers absently tracing patterns on Isagi's chest.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," Isagi replied, his voice filled with sincerity. He reached up to cup Rin's cheek, his thumb brushing over the smooth skin. "Thank you for last night, Rin. I'm sorry I came home so late."

Rin shook his head, his gaze tender as he leaned into Isagi's touch. "It's fine. I just wanted to make sure you had a good birthday, even if it was later than planned."

"You did," Isagi assured him, his heart swelling with affection. "Just being with you made it the best birthday."

Rin's lips curved into a small smile, and he pressed a kiss to the palm of Isagi's hand. "Good."
