Older Rin!

The living room of the Itoshi household was packed. Sae sat on the couch, surrounded by his classmates and soccer teammates: Nagi, Shidou, Isagi, Bachira, and Kaiser. They were supposed to be working on a project due in a week, but none of them could quite focus. Not that the project was hard, but with Shidou throwing out wild, nonsensical ideas every two minutes, Bachira doodling instead of contributing, and Kaiser endlessly complaining about how this assignment was “beneath his genius,” the group dynamic was far from productive.

“Okay, okay, listen,” Sae sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “We need to split this up. Nagi, you handle the research. Isagi, write up the draft—”

“Boooring,” Shidou groaned, kicking his feet up on the coffee table. “Sae, can’t we just copy some stuff from the internet and call it a day?”

Sae shot him a glare. “No. We’re not half-assing this.”

“Uh, since when do you care so much about schoolwork?” Bachira snickered from the floor, where he was lying on his back. “Mr. Future Soccer Star over here.”

Sae didn’t answer, already feeling his patience wearing thin. Kaiser was staring at his phone, completely uninterested, while Nagi was scrolling through his tablet lazily. Isagi was the only one trying to make sense of the task.

They were all distracted, the sound of chatter filling the room. Then, out of nowhere, the front door creaked open, and footsteps echoed in the hallway. Everyone’s attention shifted towards the door.

Sae furrowed his brows, glancing toward the entrance. “Wait… Is he already home?”

The rest of the group exchanged confused glances. “He? Who’s ‘he’?” Isagi asked.

Before Sae could answer, they heard soft footsteps approaching the living room. Suddenly, the door opened wider, and a figure peeked inside for a brief moment.

The room fell silent.

Standing in the doorway was a boy—no, a man, older than all of them. He was tall and strikingly handsome, with tousled dark hair that framed his face perfectly and sharp, emerald eyes that gleamed with quiet intensity. He wore a loose, casual hoodie, looking almost effortlessly cool. His eyes flicked over the group with mild curiosity before he turned and walked away without a word.

For a moment, no one moved.

Shidou was the first to break the silence. “Who the hell was that?” His voice was breathless, almost impressed.

“Yeah, Sae,” Kaiser added, smirking. “You’ve been holding out on us. Why didn’t you say you had a model living with you?”

Sae sighed, rubbing his temple. “That’s Rin. My older brother.”

The room erupted.

“Older brother?!” Isagi’s eyes were wide with disbelief.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Nagi said, sitting up straight for the first time, looking actually interested in something.

Bachira was practically vibrating with excitement. “Wait, wait, wait! Why have we never seen him before? Does he always look that good?”

Sae shot him a flat look. “You guys are here to work, not ogle my brother.”

Shidou snorted. “Good luck with that, Sae. I think I’m in love.”

“Shut up, Shidou,” Sae growled, but the damage was done. Every single one of his teammates had their attention fixed on something—or rather, someone—other than the project.

Kaiser leaned back, grinning. “I didn’t know you had such a stunning brother, Sae. Does he live here full-time?”

Sae rolled his eyes. “Yes, he does. Can we focus now?”

But the questions kept coming.

“So, is he single?” Bachira wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“Does he play soccer too?” Isagi asked, his curiosity piqued.

“How old is he?” Nagi muttered, still staring toward the doorway where Rin had disappeared.

Sae let out a long, frustrated sigh. He knew this was going to happen. He could already feel the shift in the atmosphere, the way his friends suddenly seemed far more interested in sticking around his house than they had been a few minutes ago.

“Rin’s not interested in you guys,” Sae muttered, trying to steer them back on track.

“But we’re interested in him,” Shidou teased with a grin.

Sae shot him a murderous look, but before he could respond, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the time. It was already past 3 p.m., and they hadn’t made any real progress.

“Whatever,” Sae grumbled. “Let’s just finish this later. I’ll order some food.”

Everyone perked up at the mention of food.

“Finally,” Shidou stretched, grinning. “I’m starving.”

“Food sounds good,” Nagi said lazily, already pulling out his phone to scroll through delivery options.

Just as Sae was about to call in their order, they heard footsteps again. This time, Rin stepped into the living room, his face neutral but his eyes curious.

“Food?” Rin asked, his voice calm and a little deeper than expected. “You’re ordering something?”

The entire group froze, as if Rin’s presence had suddenly made the air thinner. Every pair of eyes was locked on him, wide with awe. Even Kaiser, normally so composed, seemed unusually captivated by the older Itoshi brother.

“Yeah, we’re getting something delivered,” Sae said, waving him off. “Do you want anything?”

Rin nodded, running a hand through his messy hair. “Just get me whatever. I’m not picky.”

“That voice…” Bachira whispered, staring at Rin like he’d just seen a celebrity.

Rin glanced around the room, noticing the odd tension in the air. “Something wrong?”

Isagi blurted out before he could stop himself, “Uh, no! Nothing! We’re just…surprised. We didn’t know Sae had a brother.”

“Ah.” Rin’s lips quirked slightly, though it was hard to tell if it was a smirk or just amusement. “I’m not around much, I guess. But now you know.”

The group stared in silent admiration as Rin nodded to them and walked back toward his room.

As soon as Rin was out of earshot, the room exploded again.

“Holy crap!” Shidou’s voice was louder than usual, clearly excited. “Did you see him up close? That guy’s a freaking god!”

Bachira flopped onto the couch, giggling. “Sae, I’m never leaving your house again.”

“I’ll second that,” Nagi said, staring at the ceiling. “We should meet here every week.”

Isagi leaned toward Sae, giving him a sheepish grin. “Yeah, Sae. You’ve been holding out on us.”

Kaiser, who had been quiet, finally spoke up, his smirk returning. “Looks like your brother’s going to be the main reason we’ll want to visit from now on.”

Sae groaned. He could already see how this was going to play out. These idiots weren’t going to leave his house alone—not if Rin was around.

And honestly? That annoyed him more than anything.
