It was a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon when Yoichi Isagi found himself standing in front of the imposing Itoshi family home. His heart raced with a mix of excitement and nerves. Today was a big day-his first time visiting Rin's house since they had started dating. Isagi had spent weeks preparing for this moment, imagining how it would go, what they would talk about, and what it would be like to finally spend the weekend together. However, there was one thing he hadn't prepared for: Rin's older brother, Sae.
Isagi knew of Sae Itoshi, of course. Everyone in the soccer world did. Sae was a prodigy, a genius on the field, and notoriously intense. But what Isagi didn't know was just how protective Sae could be, especially when it came to his younger brother.
As Isagi rang the doorbell, he took a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in his stomach. A moment later, the door swung open, revealing Rin standing there with a small, almost shy smile. Rin looked as stunning as ever, his dark hair framing his delicate features, and his eyes soft as they met Isagi's. He was dressed casually, in a loose hoodie and shorts, and Isagi couldn't help but feel his heart skip a beat at how adorable his boyfriend looked.
"Hey, Yoichi," Rin greeted, his voice as gentle as always.
"Hey, Rin," Isagi replied, grinning as he stepped forward to give him a quick hug. "You look great."
Rin's cheeks tinted pink, and he ducked his head slightly, trying to hide his smile. "Thanks... Come on in."
Isagi followed Rin inside, slipping off his shoes and glancing around the spacious entryway. The house was modern and sleek, with minimalist decor that somehow made the space feel both welcoming and intimidating. As they walked through the house, Isagi couldn't help but notice how quiet it was.
"Is it just us here?" Isagi asked, trying to make conversation as they headed toward the living room.
Rin hesitated for a moment before answering. "Well... mostly. My brother's here, too."
"Your brother?" Isagi repeated, his curiosity piqued. "Sae?"
Rin nodded, his expression tightening just a bit. "Yeah. He's... around."
Before Isagi could ask more, they reached the living room, and his breath caught in his throat. Sitting on the couch, casually flipping through a magazine, was none other than Sae Itoshi. He looked up as they entered, his sharp gaze immediately locking onto Isagi.
"So, you're Yoichi Isagi," Sae said, his voice cool and assessing.
Isagi swallowed, feeling the weight of Sae's scrutiny. "Uh, yeah. It's nice to meet you, Sae."
Sae raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Is it?"
Rin, sensing the tension, quickly stepped in. "Yoichi's here to hang out for the weekend, nii-chan."
Sae's eyes narrowed slightly. "I see. And what exactly are your intentions with my brother, Isagi?"
Isagi felt a wave of panic wash over him. This wasn't how he had imagined the weekend starting. "My intentions? I just... I really care about Rin. I'm not here to cause any trouble."
Sae didn't look convinced. He stood up, crossing his arms as he towered over Isagi. "Let me make one thing clear. If you hurt Rin in any way, you'll have to answer to me. Understood?"
Isagi nodded quickly, his heart pounding in his chest. "Yes, sir. I would never hurt him."
Rin, who had been nervously shifting from foot to foot, finally stepped closer to Isagi, slipping his hand into his boyfriend's. "Nii-chan, please. Yoichi's not like that. He's... He's different."
Sae's gaze flickered to their joined hands, and for a moment, something softened in his expression. But it was gone just as quickly as it appeared. "We'll see about that."
With that, Sae turned and left the room, leaving Isagi and Rin standing there in the heavy silence.
"I'm sorry about that," Rin mumbled, squeezing Isagi's hand. "He can be a bit... intense."
Isagi exhaled slowly, trying to shake off the tension. "It's okay. I get it. He just wants to protect you."
Rin nodded, his eyes downcast. "Yeah... but you're here now, and that's what matters. Let's go up to my room?"
Isagi smiled, his nerves easing as Rin led him up the stairs to his bedroom. The room was exactly what Isagi expected-neat, organized, and filled with little touches that made it unmistakably Rin. A stack of soccer magazines on the desk, a bookshelf filled with novels, and a bed with soft, navy blue sheets.
Rin sat on the edge of the bed, looking up at Isagi with those gentle, ocean-blue eyes. "You can put your stuff down anywhere."
Isagi nodded, setting his overnight bag down by the bed before sitting beside Rin. For a moment, they just sat there, side by side, taking in the quiet comfort of being alone together.
"Sorry if this weekend doesn't go exactly as planned," Rin said softly, his fingers brushing against Isagi's.
Isagi shook his head, turning to face Rin fully. "Rin, as long as I'm with you, it's perfect. Besides, I think your brother's starting to warm up to me."
Rin huffed out a small laugh. "Don't count on it."
They spent the rest of the day hanging out in Rin's room, talking, watching movies, and just enjoying each other's company. As the evening approached, they decided to order takeout, and Rin, despite his protests, let Isagi convince him to cuddle on the couch while they waited for the food to arrive.
It was late when they finally headed back up to Rin's room. Isagi changed into his sleepwear-just a simple pair of shorts and a T-shirt-while Rin disappeared into the bathroom. When he came back, he was dressed in an oversized sweater that made him look even smaller and softer than usual.
"Are you okay with sharing the bed?" Rin asked, his voice quiet as he climbed under the covers.
Isagi's heart swelled at how adorable Rin looked, his cheeks pink and his hair slightly tousled. "Of course," Isagi replied, sliding in beside him.
They lay there in the dim light, facing each other as the silence stretched out between them. It was comfortable, peaceful, and Isagi felt his eyelids growing heavy as sleep began to pull at him.
But just as he was about to drift off, Rin's soft voice broke the silence.
"Yoichi?"
"Hm?"
"Thank you... for being here with me."
Isagi smiled, reaching out to gently tuck a strand of hair behind Rin's ear. "There's nowhere else I'd rather be."
Rin's eyes fluttered shut, a small, content smile on his lips as he snuggled closer to Isagi, resting his head on his chest. Isagi wrapped his arms around Rin, holding him close as they both finally fell asleep, their breathing in sync, and their hearts beating as one.
The weekend had started off with a bit of a rocky encounter with Sae, but as Isagi lay there with Rin in his arms, he knew that everything would be okay. Because no matter what challenges came their way, they would face them together. And that was all that mattered.
