A few more months had passed since Rin’s unforgettable birthday getaway, and the memory of their time in the mountains still lingered sweetly in their hearts. Isagi Yoichi couldn’t stop thinking about how happy Rin had been during that trip, and every time he looked at Rin, his heart swelled with love and a sense of certainty. Isagi knew, without a doubt, that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Rin. The only question was how to ask.
Isagi had been quietly planning the perfect proposal for weeks. He wanted it to be special, something that would capture everything they’d been through together and the future he wanted to build with Rin. He finally decided that the proposal should take place in a place that had become significant to them both—the park where they had shared that tender moment on Rin’s last birthday.
The day had arrived, and Isagi was a bundle of nerves. He had everything planned down to the last detail. It was a crisp autumn afternoon, with the leaves turning vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The park was even more beautiful than usual, and Isagi couldn’t think of a better setting for what he was about to do.
Rin had no idea what Isagi had planned, and when Isagi suggested a walk in the park after work, Rin agreed without a second thought. They had always loved their walks together, enjoying the peace and quiet away from the demands of their daily lives.
As they arrived at the park, Isagi took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. He led Rin along the familiar paths, their hands entwined as they walked through the picturesque scenery. The park was relatively quiet, with only a few other people around, giving them the privacy Isagi hoped for.
They reached the small pond where they had shared that intimate moment months ago. The spot was just as serene as Isagi remembered, with the golden light of the setting sun reflecting off the water’s surface. It was the perfect place.
Isagi stopped and turned to face Rin, his heart pounding in his chest. Rin looked at him with a curious expression, clearly sensing that something was different about this moment.
“Rin,” Isagi began, his voice soft but steady. “There’s something I’ve been wanting to say to you for a while now.”
Rin tilted his head slightly, a small smile playing on his lips. “What is it, Yoichi?”
Isagi took a deep breath, his heart filled with love and determination. “You know, ever since we’ve been together, my life has changed in ways I never thought possible. You’ve made me happier than I ever thought I could be, and every day with you feels like a gift. I’ve been thinking about our future a lot, and there’s something I know for sure.”
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, his hands shaking slightly as he opened it to reveal a simple, elegant ring. Rin’s eyes widened in surprise, his breath catching in his throat as he realized what was happening.
“Rin, I love you more than anything in this world,” Isagi continued, his voice filled with emotion. “I want to spend the rest of my life with you, through all the ups and downs, the good times and the bad. Will you marry me?”
For a moment, the world seemed to stand still. Rin’s eyes filled with tears, his expression a mixture of shock, joy, and overwhelming love. He stared at Isagi, speechless, as the weight of the moment settled over him.
Finally, Rin found his voice, his words choked with emotion. “Yoichi… I… I don’t even know what to say. Yes, of course, yes!”
Isagi’s heart soared with relief and happiness as Rin threw his arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace. They held each other close, the world around them fading into insignificance as they shared this monumental moment.
When they finally pulled apart, Isagi took Rin’s hand and gently slid the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly, as if it had always belonged there. Rin looked down at the ring, then back up at Isagi, his eyes shining with tears and happiness.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” Rin whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. “You’ve made me so happy, Yoichi. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Isagi smiled, his own eyes misting over. “I’m the lucky one, Rin. I can’t wait to start this next chapter with you.”
They kissed, a tender and loving kiss that sealed their commitment to one another. As they stood there by the pond, the autumn leaves gently falling around them, they knew that this was just the beginning of a new and beautiful journey.
The rest of the evening was spent celebrating their engagement. They returned to their apartment, where Isagi had prepared a special dinner to mark the occasion. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as they talked about their future, their plans for the wedding, and the life they would build together.
As the night wore on, they curled up together on the couch, sipping champagne and basking in the warmth of their love. The ring on Rin’s finger caught the light, a constant reminder of the promise they had made to each other.
Finally, as they prepared to go to bed, Isagi pulled Rin close and whispered in his ear, “I love you, Rin. Thank you for saying yes.”
Rin smiled, his heart full of love and contentment. “I love you too, Yoichi. I can’t wait to spend forever with you.”
And as they lay together, wrapped in each other’s arms, they knew that their love was strong enough to withstand anything. The future was bright, and they were ready to face it together, hand in hand, as partners for life.
