Rin Itoshi stood in front of the mirror, absently running his fingers through his silky black hair. Every single detail about him was immaculate, as always: his perfectly sculpted cheekbones, the delicate curve of his jawline, and his soft, pouty lips that many had praised as his most striking feature. But today, he was more concerned about his outfit, a simple yet elegant cream-colored coat draped over his slim figure, hugging his waist perfectly, and slim-fitting trousers that accentuated his long legs. A pair of dark sunglasses rested on his nose, partially obscuring his sharp, stunning eyes.He took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest, the excitement bubbling within him. Today was the day he had waited for what felt like an eternity. His fiancé, Shidou Ryusei, was coming home. Not just any ordinary homecoming—Shidou had just won the World Cup again. The whole world was celebrating, but all Rin could think about was seeing him, holding him, being in his arms after months apart.
He grabbed his phone and checked the time. The flight had landed, and Shidou would be walking through those gates at any moment. Rin bit his lip, glancing once more at his reflection before slipping on his coat and heading out the door. He wasn't going to wait at home, not this time. This time, he would be there at the airport, standing with the other family members, the girlfriends and boyfriends of Shidou's teammates. It was what any normal fiancé would do.
As he arrived at the airport, a sea of flashing cameras and buzzing reporters greeted him. Rin’s presence was always a headline, especially given his status as one of Japan's most famous models. His beauty was a phenomenon, a blend of masculine allure and feminine grace, making him a figure of fascination in both the fashion world and the media. His narrow waist, long, graceful legs, and delicate hands all added to his ethereal charm.
But today, Rin didn’t care about the attention. He slipped through the crowd, making his way to the private section where the families were waiting. Familiar faces greeted him—wives, girlfriends, siblings, and parents of Shidou's teammates. Rin smiled politely, exchanging a few pleasantries, though his eyes constantly darted toward the arrival gate.
“Rin! You look stunning as always,” one of the players’ wives said, offering him a warm hug.
“Thank you,” Rin replied, a soft blush dusting his cheeks. “I’m just here for Shidou.”
A knowing smile spread across her face. “Of course. Everyone’s waiting for him. You two really are the perfect couple.”
Rin chuckled, his heart fluttering at the mention of Shidou. "I just want to see him."
Minutes felt like hours as he stood there, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet. And then, finally, the doors opened. One by one, the players began to emerge, welcomed by the cheers of their loved ones and the frenzy of reporters waiting for their chance to catch a glimpse of the world champions.
Rin watched as families reunited, heartfelt embraces exchanged, tears of joy and laughter filling the space around him. His heart warmed at the sight, but his eyes were focused on one person, and one person only.
And then, there he was.
Shidou Ryusei. Tall, broad-shouldered, with his signature mischievous grin plastered on his face, his messy blonde hair falling over his forehead, and that dangerous glint in his eyes. He looked around, waving at the crowd and giving reporters a cheeky wink, before his gaze fell on Rin.
For a split second, Shidou’s expression shifted, his cocky smirk softening into something more tender, more vulnerable. He was clearly taken aback—Rin wasn’t supposed to be here, after all. But the moment Shidou realized Rin was running towards him, all bets were off. He tossed his bags to the side, arms wide open, bracing himself for the impact.
Rin didn’t care about the cameras, the flashing lights, or the crowd around them. He ran, faster than he thought possible in his pristine designer shoes, his heart racing as he leapt into Shidou’s arms.
“Shidou!” Rin breathed, wrapping his arms around Shidou’s neck as their bodies collided.
Shidou caught him effortlessly, lifting him off the ground and spinning him around as if Rin weighed nothing at all. “Rin,” he murmured, burying his face in Rin’s neck, inhaling the familiar scent of his fiancé. “God, I’ve missed you.”
“I missed you too,” Rin whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. “You have no idea.”
They stayed like that for a moment, lost in each other’s presence, before Shidou finally pulled back, just enough to look into Rin’s eyes. His hands cupped Rin’s face gently, his thumbs brushing against his smooth skin.
“Look at you,” Shidou said softly, his voice full of admiration. “Still the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Rin blushed deeply, his gaze dropping for a moment before meeting Shidou’s eyes again. “Stop,” he muttered, though there was no denying the warmth in his chest at Shidou’s words. “You just won the World Cup, and you’re still talking about me?”
“Of course I am,” Shidou grinned, leaning in to press a soft kiss to Rin’s forehead. “The World Cup’s great and all, but you’re the real prize. Always have been.”
Rin laughed softly, his heart swelling with happiness. “You idiot,” he muttered affectionately, but his hands tightened around Shidou’s shoulders, not wanting to let go. “I’m so proud of you.”
“I know,” Shidou replied, his voice low, serious for once. “I could feel it. Even when I was out there, I knew you were watching. I did it for you, you know?”
Rin’s eyes softened, and for a moment, he was overwhelmed with emotion. Shidou was loud, brash, and a bit of a wild card, but in moments like these, Rin saw the real Ryusei—the man who loved him deeply, unapologetically.
“Then let’s go home,” Rin whispered, leaning in close. “Just you and me. No more cameras, no more fans. I’ve waited so long for this.”
Shidou smiled, one of those rare, genuine smiles that made Rin’s heart skip a beat. “Yeah, let’s go home.”
But before they could make their escape, the airport erupted into cheers. People were clapping, and a chorus of “aww”s echoed through the terminal as the onlookers witnessed their embrace. Rin glanced around, his face flushing a deep crimson as he realized the entire airport had been watching them.
Shidou just laughed, unfazed by the attention. “Looks like we gave them a show.”
“Shut up,” Rin muttered, though he couldn’t help but smile. Shidou pulled him in for another kiss, this one slower, more tender, as if to remind Rin of everything they had been waiting for.
When they finally broke apart, Shidou wrapped an arm around Rin’s waist, pulling him close as they walked toward the exit. The world may have been watching, but in that moment, it was just the two of them.
The power couple. The definition of true love.
